HD Alarm Valve Overview

Alarm Valve acts as a check valve by trapping pressurized water above the clapper and preventing reverse flow from sprinkler piping. While the alarm valve is designed to initiate an alarm through water motor gong bell and/or pressure switch during a sustained flow of water (such as the flow required by an open sprinkler). It is used to actuate a fire alarm during the flow of water from the sprinkler system.
HD alarm valves are UL Listed and FM approved. Alarm valves are available with trims consisting of retarding chamber and water motor gong bell. This video is about the overview and introduction of HD Alarm Valve and its functionalities.

What about sensing lines of fire pumps and its positioning with respect to ACV, is it connected upstream or downstream from the ACV? and what about the jocky pump operation, is ACV open each time of jockey pump operation?

Alarm valve will open in case of pump operation, but will absorb unnecessary pressure surges.
