What I heard from the Kannada Sanghatane presents a completely different version of the story, which seems to have been portrayed inaccurately being small age your efforts to tell real history very passionate. Keep doing great work dear.
Your question is genuine, though there is some mistake in the number. The narrator wrongly mentioned that Belawadi Mallamma died in 1629. Belawadi Mallamma's period was 1624-1678. That way she was senior in age to Shivaji.
People who make this hilarious claim do even know the size of Shivaji Maharaj's Army during "Dakshin Digvijay" campaign? This whole narrative of Mallamma defeating Shivaji Maharaj was peddled by Kannada department of Mumbai through publication of propaganda Marathi book named “Shivaji-Mallamma Samarotsava” based on their own Imagination. Reality: Shivaji Maharaj embarked on his southern expedition sometime in January 1677. He launched a wave of conquests in southern India, with a massive force of 30,000 cavalry and 20,000 infantry, during this campaign he possessed entire coastal stretch from the Tunghabhadra to Kaveri. After succesful campaign when he was returning to Swarajya from South, this incident happened. Shivaji Maharaj had no plan to invade her small territory as Southern campaign was already over. He besieged Belavadi towards the end of 1677 just because Mallamma had plundered transport bullocks of Maratha army. The siege lasted 27 days in the face of defence by Mallamma. After successful siege, she was arrested and taken to Shivaji Maharaj's darbar. Maharaj found Mallamma a valiant and brave female warrior in so he set her liberty immediately and patronised her territory. That's it. Conclusion: She was defeated by Maratha army not vice-versa. After her capture one officer tried to misbehave with her, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ordered to put his eyes out! That's the Justice! Shivaji Maharaj's chivalrous conduct towards her is indicated by a stone sculpture found in the village of Yadvad, about 10 km north of Dharwad. A bearded man is shown sitting with a child in his lap and a glass in his hand. It is said that Mallamma caused such sculptures to be put up in many villages in her jurisdiction, of which Yadvad was one, to commemorate Shivaji Raje's chivalry. But this is the only one that has been discovered so far. It appears that the idea meant to be conveyed by this sculpture is that Shivaji Maharaj is giving a glass of milk to Mallamma's child as a token of his assurance of safety to her. This incident is included in 4th std Maharashtra board history textbook. This means a fourth standard Maharashtra board student would have more knowledge of history than regionalists from Karnataka
Chhatrapati Shivaji never fought Chikkadev Raya wodeyar of Mysore. It was Chhatrapati Sambhaji who fought Chikkadevraya Wodeyar and it were Marathas who prevailed in that because Chikkadevraya was forced to sign peace treaty with Sambhaji plz check fact😅

Ch Shivaji maharaj was not born in 1920🤦🏻

Belawadi Mallamma's period was 1624-1678. That way she was senior in age to Shivaji.
What great in this
Bcoz chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj thinks Belavadi mallamma as a God 'Aayi Jagadamba/Jai bhavani.
