Man I can’t believe In Utero came out 30 years ago yesterday. I bought the CD the day it came out, which I think was a week or two later. I know the vinyl was released first. I was only 12 and it didn’t impress me as much as Nevermind did, but listening to it 30 years later I find it to be Nirvana’s best album. This song was recorded even after the In Utero sessions so I can only guess Kurt would have kept maturing as a song writer. It might not have been with Nirvana, but we really lost an incredible song writer way too young. It’s so weird my friends and I keep getting older, but Kurt will always be 27 years young. Gone way too early.
This is the last song recorded & Dave Grohl said he still can’t listen to it🖤
I still fucking love this song!
I also love it, and it still can make me seriously teary.
The lyrics are what they are, the "pain" and despair in Kurt's voice is what breaks my heart. No wonder Dave can't listen to it
No one was like Nirvana
I read this as “no one likes nirvana” at first and was really confused 😭
And no one will ever be
They had a purely unique approach to making music that perhaps may never work for another band ever
No one was like Kurt the poet and voice of many generations
My favorite song from Nirvana. This song came out after he died. I believe it was the final song he recorded. I love the sound of the rhythmic repetition of the title lyrics. It’s entrancing.
Nirvana's drummer, Dave Grohl is the lead singer of the Foo Fighters. PLEASE react to Foo Fighters "THE BEST OF YOU" and "EVERLONG". (unfortunately, their very talented drummer, Taylor Hawkins died last year. He also used to be the drummer for Alanis Morissette). ❤️
i appreciate the fact that you watch the video and then give your thoughts at the end rather than pausing and going back multiple times thru the video.
Final song recorded January 1994. The song was held back by Cortney Love his wife. They were on the path to a divorce. The song is very much directed towards her. Dave and Krist sued Cortney Love and were finally able to release the song in in September 2002

It's so beautifully raw!
This is Nirvana's best song in my opinion. I love their whole body of work but this song especially speaks to me and i love the build/release they do over and over in it.
Great song, but incredibly sad in retrospect because it was literally the last song that Kurt Cobain recorded in 1994 before his death... His words were literally the cry of someone losing his battle w/ life.
I remember as a teen and Nirvana fan when CNN reported Kurt Cobain's suicide in April '94... It was reported that he had attempted suicide in Rome, Italy while on tour, but we all hoped that he would get help. We now know that nothing was working... Kurt was abusing he+++n to suppress his pain and at some point, he just couldn't take it anymore.
Layne Staley of Alice In Chains also wrote 2 songs w/ AIC in 1998 that are tragically sad - 'Get born again'... and 'Died'... (He wrote 'Died' about losing all hope after his longtime girlfriend Demri passed away in 1996) Layne died from an OD in 2002 - in April, the same month Kurt Cobain had died 😪 Kurt's death was abrupt... Layne's was like a slow death...
Super energetic and catchy ❤❤❤❤ always loved these guys!
Grunge might never have happened if not for the rubbish pop music and glamour rock that dominated the 80s (Australia you are excepted, thanks for 80s pub rock) but i was so lucky to have been 17 when it took off. The early 90s were a great time in rock music...the late 90s and 2000's have a lot to answer for as we seem stuck in another rubbish music era ever since.
100% agree on all that you stated.
Thank you for doing thins song, I haven't seen many reactors do it.
Late 4 sure but I ❤ this very passed over song. I
Nirvana has a great b sides album that's all over the place. It's called Insecticide.
❤😊 Love Nirvana
Heavy like i like it 🤘
My favorite Nirvana song.
This was put together by the remaining members as a loving/living tribute to Kurt...
RIP my brother 🎶🎤🎵🤘💚✌
You should review Do Re Mi, he recorded it alone in his home so its very raw but its the last piece of music he ever made and its haunting when you reas the lyrics knowing what he was about to do
awesomeness
Bleach is their best album to me
Hey man you would love Alice In Chains if you haven’t heard of them you should try giving them a listen..
♥
Simply amazing!👏👏👏👏👏👏
This was tame compared to Endless. Nameless.
To the gym. No way
Watch the live version. It is so much more powerful and elaborate in its lyrics and composition musically. He's also saying "Hey" not "Pain" that was altered long after his death. This was the last song they recorded as a band. In the same same studio Dave Grohl would record the first Foo Fighters album by himself.
How would they 'alter' the song after his death?
I know people often misinterpret Kurt's vocals, but ur claims r total bulls+++ w/ zero proof 👎
He's clearly saying pain
