    I decided to start baking Challah when we found ourselves home with a pandemic, retired and over 70. Also,we are not going into stores, so getting store bought challah is very difficult for us. Now I am hooked on baking our own and not going back , and learning to braid for Rosh Hashana is a blessing. Thank you.

    Hello Jamie!
    I'm not Jewish but my dad and some of my dear friends are!
    I'm so happy to have seen this video - I have just put a challah in the AGA to bake for my dad as a Hanukkah gift!
    Thanks so much for the video on braiding. I messed it up a little bit but that's ok because as it rose during proofing, it looks fine now! :)
    Stay safe out there
    Sam in London :) x

    I’ve just been practicing this braid and have totally been bitten by the challah bug! Just posted a video with my 5 year old and I making round challot (proof that anyone can do this!). Thank you for this nice tutorial!

    This my first year observing rosh hashanah. I'm a christian but every Jewish holiday adds greater depth to how I see Yeshua. God Bless you all. Ah the finished challah has a cross in the middle.

    Thank you - best Challah recipe. I live quite remotely and it's been so lovely having Challah that tastes authentic - and with the added bonus of teaching us how to braid it. I'm in Heaven on Earth

    Love the video! How would I make a larger (2-3 times this size) round braided challah--fatter ropes? How long would I bake it? I want to make this for my niece's wedding celebration. Jamie, would you recommend the round shape or a long braid? THX!

    • @laurafrankel430
      @laurafrankel430 7 років тому +1

      Make a double batch of dough and very thick ropes. lower oven to temperature to 325F and bake for about 25 minutes, rotate the pan and bake an additional 20 minutes.

    Very nice. Aside from weddings, are there special occasions for the round braid or can it be for any Shabbat?

  • @rebelrouser6678
    @rebelrouser6678 3 роки тому +1

    This would’ve been more helpful if you kept the camera focused on the dough
