It's so amazing to see what two people and some drums can do to change an entire feeling. Listening to this gets me excited and energetic. I'm sure there is some deeper meaning but I'm hypnotized as they get to their more feverish play.

It's great to find ONDEKOZA on UA-cam. I once watched them in big group at Vatten Festivalen in Stockholm. Really impressive! Do you have more videos? I would love to see them in big group.
How do they stop the drum from ringing out? Wouldn't hitting such a large membrane so fast cause it to vibrate very fast and drone over everything (like a western bass drum, which needs to be muted somehow to get that sharp attack and not ring out for too long). They don't seem to be muting this odaiko... So how do they get such a sharp attack and such a clear and massive tone...? Sounds better than any Bass Drum I've tried.

この動画は屋外での演奏だが、生で聞いたら迫力が全然違うだろうと思う。昔、鬼太鼓座の演奏をNHKホールで聞いた事があるが、屋内だと太鼓の響きは半端なく、全身に音波がぶつかってくる様な衝撃を受けた。

これかどうかは知らないが、メキシコシティの広い公園を歩いていたら、何処からともなくこの手の音が聞こえてきた。
おや？と近づいて見ようかと思ったら、終わってしまった。
間違いなく、”日本の大太鼓”の音でしたね。海外でも公演をしてるんだろう。
そのシャーマンな響きに（日本って、こうだったんだ・・・）と少し戸惑いを感じた。
そしてこの音は多くの民族に共感され得るものだと思いますよ。

全く違ってくると思います。
客席が凍り付くと言いますか、この日の演奏は私も、
とっても緊張して聴いてしまいました。
演奏会の最後の曲で、雨が降りそう、バッテリーも切れそうで‥‥褌
最後まで緊張でヒヤヒヤでした。

この動画の撮影場所は、日本の埼玉県さいたま市にございます。
交通では、東京駅から電車で約30分の距離にある
『さいたま新都心駅』近くにある大きな施設
『さいたまスーパーアリーナ』に隣接している
『けやきひろば』内に、この仮設ステージはありました。
