Ok. I am 74, and I have always wanted to learn tango. Thank you for these wonderful videos. I watch them often as I can, and have now signed up for live classes.
I like the simple steps with the ocho cortado too. I feel comfortable with simple steps. My parents always danced the basic Tango with so much passion but maybe because is in the blood. Argentines parents.
exactly, that's what I did as well: I try to keep it simple. However, I think it is important to work on my posture and technique, so I take private lessons to improve that. But I do not take part in "normal" courses for intermediate or advanced dancers, as they seem mostly to concentrate on learning more complex movements or "figures", which I do not want.
Simple but very beautiful expression of movements. Looks very professional. I like your method of teaching - you show the basic steps first and then dance with the music. We learn faster by watching. I am encouraged to learn. Muy bien, gracias.
Less is bore usualy. Mais ici ce n'est pas le cas. Merci de cette merveilleuse vidéo qui nous montre pour la première fois qu'on n'est pas obligé d'apprendre 20 000 figures pour danser un beau tango. Cette vidéo est très stimulante.
I love doing those steps! Especially the half turn! All the students are finally back, attending classes, so I get to practice those 5 -and all the TCOC course skills from your courses. Also,I really love Anne's shiny new shoes!! Thanks!
Simple for me. I think it's more romantic. Unfortunately my husband refuses to dance, because he feels self conscious... That was so encouraging to watch. Thank you so much 💓. Brava and Bravo 👏
As allways, very friendly, natural clip with helpful inputs. Since long time I am regarding and ist funny to hear that you speak the same intro as years ago 🙂.

This answers a LOT of my questions. I always suspected, from watching so many dancers/teachers dancing the Tango in so many different ways, that it is now obvious that only certain movements must be memorized; and that they are combined as the connected couple executes the dance by combining their chosen movements together into an actual "dance". And... as I always suspected, the dance is not a dance if there is no connection. To Tango is to connect intimately without the gymnastics of a sexual encounter, but with the spirits intertwined nonetheless! It's like making love without the sin! (Not that I would never be guilty of the sin!)
I strive to dance simple, to the music, on the music, in the music. And I get annoyed by people hopping around and bouncing around and taking space that could fit 5 couples just for the sake of botching some superdifficult thing. Please keep preaching for simplicity!

I find the simplicity so much beautiful. I stopped taking lessons because I found it too difficult to learn a new step at every class.

This looks so simple... perfection and musicality makes it fascinating... and the 6th element is pause, good pause looks better than any step... :-)
Yes, the pause is so important :)
I dance just these simple movements but in musical harmony. Thanks for your video lessons. 💕
