Bernie Sanders dropped out of the 2020 election and fully supported the Biden/Harris administration. In just over three years of Biden/Harris, government induced inflation and large-corporate greed in real estate have caused the cost of food and housing to double. Nothing keeps the poor remaining poor like these two actions. The only ones who benefit at all from this are the super rich and the people in power.
The Biden/Harris administration let this happen and have done absolutely nothing to stop it; and Bernie Sanders continues to fully endorse them; and you believe, with your twisted logic, that these folks care about the poor and you will vote to keep them in power in November, and nothing will convince you to do otherwise.
I am perplexed…how is that possible? I can’t even get my mind wrapped around that insanity……..no wonder the left are so screwed up!

The more money is involved, the fewer the choices. You can choose from 100 painters to paint your house, 20 bagel shops nearby in a city, 15 pizza shops, two pre-selected candidates for president, one foreign policy.
Or, if they don't actually win, the votes are suddenly "found" - manufactured. One way or another, they get the outcome they are seeking. Think 2020.
I know a former Senator pretty well. He once said to me the only reason there is more than one party, the only reason we hold elections is to make the people believe they still have a choice. Our government can best be described as a group dictatorship. The person holding office gets the praise or the blame but when it comes down to it the country is being run by a select group behind the scenes. This way the people can't hold the ones making decisions directly responsible because they don't even know who they are.
We should get rid of primaries entirely. Go back to the smoke-filled rooms. It’s not like we’d wind up with worse candidates than the ones we have now…

What America is *not* is a *DIRECT* democracy - it has always been a *representative* democracy, which is what most western republics are. Although it is currently far less democratic than it was for most of the 20th century.

Is it really any different this year with K Harris being anointed when she essentially dropped out of the 2020 primaries with record low primary votes? Unbelievable.
The difference this year is that she was on the same ticket as Biden, so when you voted for Biden in the primary you were also voting for her. The other difference now is that Trump is a shadow of his 2020 self. He’s deteriorated cognitively more rapidly than even Biden if you’ve been paying attention to any of his speeches and interviews this year. The desire to ensure he doesn’t get a second term is as high as ever.

The way I heard it explained is like this "it starts with socialism and , if allowed to continue and morph, the socialism experience is only temporary, it doesn't last, and ultimately, if unchecked, unhindered, socialism will always turn into or morph into full blown communism. Definition of democracy in 1790ish, was that everyone must come to the same physical location, and vote for issues there. It is what we call direct democracy. This form of democracy existed in a few very small local places in america. The discussion was: should america adopt "that explicit form of democracy" or something else. You can read the federalist papers and see for yourself.
There was no other form of democracy avaliable at the time. Today the form, term and definition has changed.
He still spoke at the DNC and called Trump the real threat to Democracy. Guy gets screwed over repeatedly like that, whines about it, and still keeps coming back for more, it tells me he's getting something he wants out of the transaction.

I hope we all know that it doesn't matter who is in the 'top job' because this is a systemic problem -- greed. We have allowed many of our economic sectors, to take advantage of the American people. It's disgusting and frightening for the future of our country. My husband and I will be retiring in the next two years n another country. We are absolutely worried that SSI will no longer be funded. we'll have to rely on his pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific lnvestment account with my Abby Joseph Cohen my FA. Our national debt is bloating and expanding every month. Our government needs to get spending under control and cut the federal budget.

I grew up a Democrat-even went door-to-door at age 14 with my Father in his bid for elective office (He won-over & over!) I gave up the Democratic Party-it left me when they became pro-abortion. Still I was taught and believe in the Constitution, the rule of Law. I was both angry and disappointed w.what happened to Bernie Sanders, -how The Dem Party controls who the candidate will be-not the people, and how this has played out repeatedly up to now with the aggressive rejection of RFK Jr.
,I don’t share Mr Sander’s views, but wanted him behind a podium, fairly & squarely debating Joe Biden, and the people deciding who they want as their candidate. All of us benefit from the exchange of ideas-it gives us the opportunity to change /modify our own positions-see ways to compromise. Even if that doesn’t happen, it’s how our Republic has been set up to operate-it’s our obligation to follow what was agreed upon 238 years ago. And Bernie Sanders pointed the finger at the corrosive, monolithic, juggernaut- campaign financing, esp PAC’s. I heard that each member of Congress HAS to devote 20-30”/day for his own/party campaign financing
So how much time is there to get the job done for which he/she’s elected and receives an annual salary from US Citizens? How to break this stranglehold? I’m clueless, and wish it could change.
