Yeah you finally said it, This really reminds me of playing the early console versions FS, FS15. Selling everything off to place wind turbines to have the money for good equipment and fields without using the bank loan.
I also have a really bad habit of starting a farm and working hard upfront to get it established, and then I start another one again.
same habit ;)
That's not how you are supposed to play?
😂
I didn't know there was a right or wrong way to play the the game??
@@stevencorscadden5767 supposed to play? It is a game. Free flow game, you can game how you want.
This is a fascinating idea. Build a solar/wind farm to generate the money and then just farm what you like rather than worrying about what brings in the most money for progressing. Me personally I like doing the green houses/gardens. If you like doing horses then do that. Much love MrSealyp I'll be trying this at the weekend.
I think horses were only really good for getting around, and might be made workable if you could hire grooms lol. I think it might have been cool if that pc mod that let you use cows to plow fields and pull carts made it to console, have a proper 1800s frontier farm experience.
Good experiment and showed off the generator side of FS22 which can get lost in other profits from farming and productions.
It's hardly even a "side". You plop them down and they make money. There's no gameplay there whatsoever. Taking them out of FS19 was a good idea from a gameplay standpoint but I guess people wanted them back.
@@Qualjyn As the game is Farming Simulator and diversifying into leasing land for solar arrays is what UK farmers are doing they should be included in the game. Whether you want to use them or not is entirely up your you.
Ah, I love the concept. I remember when i was in my late teens playing FS2009 on the pc where I believe Fendt was the only brand in game, there was no government subsidy. I remember with the start up money and I think loans buying turbines then leaving the game running on fast forward for hours then keep adding extra turbines when i had the money just to buy all the big equipment and field. This gave me a complete nostalgia trip. Looking back its amazing how far FS has developed from the grass roots it started with - its definitely a gave the developers should be proud of
I saw the title and immediately my mind went to The Spiffing Brits most recent er play through lol.
Something to be mindful of you can easily beat start from scratch (with all the settings on) just using solar and wind the game economy is only difficult when you farm.
Good luck.
The game economy isn't difficult when you farm either. Very nearly everything you can do in the game is guaranteed profits over time, it just takes much longer on hard economy, and some crops are more worth it than others. "Difficulty" isn't really a thing in Farming Simulator, just different levels of tedium.
The only realistic way to put yourself in an unwinnable situation is to impose some truly absurd restrictions on yourself that would make it impossible to recover from a mistake.
@@Qualjyn even with ridiculous self imposed limits the game is easy once you know how to make money, time is the only thing holding the player back and even then it can be manipulated. FS is meant to be fun and relaxing so it’s no surprise it’s easy to beat.
Though you are making a bunch of passive income, your still responsible for taxes etc. etc. etc.
The Spiffing Brit recently covered Haut Beyleron with solar panels and made a billion. Generators are powerful.
Thanks Mr S.P. Great break from the same old same old. Enjoyed the video. Awesome job
I think most of us have tried the generators at some point, found them to not pay as advertised and left them alone. Good job bringing it up , maybe someone makes a mod to fix this issue also.
Don't forget the maintenance costs that drags down the generated income.
Yeah I find they don't pay nearly as much as they should
I love playing from scratch, with the contracts you drive a lot different machines. I like that 🚜
I play start from scratch from that reason. Build the farm however you want. It's a grind but worth it
This is an amazing idea. I put down a few rental properties to start making money. So far so good. Hopefully this series continues!
I think this was awesome to show this side of the game and the possibilities as well showcase some good modders whom made these mods as well. I think if nothing else see what you can make on easy vs normal vs hard economy?
Excellent idea and concept! Really like one-off videos like this
Many ppl on yt have done this😅
Absolutely loved this! What a great experiment!! Thank you for taking the time to do this!!
Yep, you're right. Never thought he'd get anywhere!
Great Video. Ive always had this concept in my mind,, but could never commit, Well Played MrSealup
That has opened my eyes to the "Generators" potential for sure, loved you idea and hopefully you make a lets play on SV22.
Certainly an interesting idea and experiment, definitely helps to highlight the value passive income generators can have in game!
I think its because you have your months set to 1 day, instead of more days, what i think is if you have more days it should give the right amount
That was really interesting, really enjoyed watching you start a non farm and still you made your fortune. Awesome
The difficulty mode definitely makes a difference in generator output. Interesting video, Mr. sealyp!
Hmm, inspiration from the Spiffing Britt's "exploit"? ;)
Great minds 👌😂
“I’m going to pollute my account with money”
It’s not a new exploit though I did a field of solar just for a laugh a month or so after the game launched, I was genuinely surprised.
Great video on the generators. I've added them as supplements but still farmed. Gave me a nice cushion. Thank you for the video! I love your content!
A very cool idea, i might try it in my letsplay to get some additional revenue. By the way, hope Mrs. SealyP is feeling better. Keep going strong.
These are my favorite let's plays ,start with nothing ,and build an empire 👍
With Generators there are a few things to consider. So..the Hourly income is shown in store based on Best Factors for 24hrs a day. So If you have clouds that will impact your solar income, as well as night and the length of "Sun time". For "wind" generators, there is an Optimal Wind Speed that is required to generate the store displayed income. What I've noticed is that some mods have the optimal windspeed at 15 mph/kph but the wind typically blows at 2-4 mph. The highest that I've seen it blow is 8 during a storm. So you typically never get the Stored Display Income.
I personally enjoyed the one-off vid. I had the same issue as you, trying to figure out why i'm not making the money it says. I think further research needs to be done and explained to all of us. Maybe interview a mod and how they came up w/ that number. Maybe the displayed number is the average per month if you ran a full year.
Brilliant! That was a great way to become a retired millionaire! I love the farming role play but I appreciate what you've shown us here. Cheers!
The income shown typically is the max. Highest wind (xml setting), sun, seasonal. My guess is other generator mods are all based on some form of the original solar and wind turbines mods. So this seasonal and weather relation carries through. Just a guess
Well I was curious about how this series will be and what it was about. I love the start from scratch series. Things like that takes time and it should. I know it isn't everyones kind of tea, but I love it, see the process and change and development
I start allot of my maps selling everything they give me; including buildings; and doing “passive income” (greenhouses, solar, etc) then start selling trees… build up enough $ to get good equipment to use strait away; instead of that low productive junk.. and then I build the thing the way I want as well… no mans land and western wilds are my two main maps… seems to work for what I’m doing… now that I’m on farm-22 (started week ago) I find myself mainly mining and logging…
This kind of thing you are doing reminds me heavily of my fs-11 game play from a few years ago..
Figured I’d buy them all and learn em and play… this productions thing is WAY different! If ya all looking for something different; try fs-11… you’ll appreciate everything in 22.. I’d say my 2 fav ones are 15 & 19…
I like the concept of this and I think it is a good way to explore and see how it works. I don't think this alone is something for me to watch in the long term. But implement it into a series, using it as a business and extra income. That I would love to see. I will keep my eyes open of this kind of videos. Thank you so much for this video
Stone Valley always sent the possible harvesting contracts straight to withered for me. Also the sell point at the south wouldn't accept crop despite being the sell point for the contract. I love the map though, hope it works for you
Thanks for doing this experiment. I’ve always thought that the generators paid less than was stated. False advertising by the suppliers I think.
Some solar panels in game work from day light hours, and take years to break even
I´m glad you´re trying different stuff. Your channel, your choices. Keep up the good work !
Great video MrSeslyP. I love the concept and will try it myself.
This is hilarious, The Spiffing Brit just did a similar video recently.
This is such a great idea. Awesome video and a great way to start FS differently then the usual.
The solar panels and wind energy are dependent on sunlight and wind on that day. That is a basegame feature
Possibly using Oma Tana’s older production pack with the small $10k buildings. Buy raw materials, make products for sale. Kind of a cottage industry. They produce reasonably slowly, so not over powering the start from scratch. Could mix feed for sale. Stuff like that.
I enjoyed that. Great idea. Keep 'em coming.
Haven't played or watch FS content in a while. Missed your voice man. Have fun!
Excited for this
Loving this. Keep going👍👍
Interesting exercise, not sure about a Lets Play but certainly worth it as an experiment. What I'd have been interested to know is how much you ended up spending in total to achieve that final income, and how long it took to recoup that and go into profit.
Great video I love all of your content thanks for doing this one It opened my eyes on some generators that I hadn't thought of using.
I assume the fluctuation in generator income depends on sunshine hours a day (month) as well as wind speed.
Awesome! People now have other ways to play FS starting from scratch
I started this video not knowing was "the one and only Mr.Sealyp?" And at 50 seconds I'm like "He has lost his mind!!!!" Game has done it! I'm going to watch this video... better be winning golden chocolate bar wrapper...
This is great idea especially on this map where land is a fortune 👍👍
Eclectic philanthropist sounds better than apocalyptic pepper 😂😂
This is a fun experiment but the fluctuation in payments is really confusing. Thanks for something a little different to get me thinking about how to make the game a little better!
The payments from wind and solar energy are affected by the weather and wind conditions in game. That’s why they fluctuate in profit so much. It’s been a base game feature since day one. Unfortunately though, you never really see the maximum income potential these generators can bring in but they do provide a nice cushion for income whilst running a farm.
We was playing on hard economy and found that issue with generators, at the end of the month we was left scratching our heads. We did the maths and soon realised game difficulty effected the amount you was meant to make so we was getting less than the displayed amount, would have been nice to have those prices change with difficulty for better planning and understanding.
At 6 years you could have sold all of the generators and had a bunch more money. Now sell everything and see how much you spent getting there. Great concept though and I really enjoyed it.
Now that you have all this money generation, do the let’s play and don’t buy any equipment, just lease, don’t allow yourself to keep it more than X months so you have a constant variety of equipment
Interesting concept. Going to try and build the rollercoaster on Silverrun. (Never actually built it) but without cutting down a single tree on pc. Am going to add a sell point for the iron ore and use that to start from scratch. Also I have to pay the mine 50% value of the ore sold each time.
Great video mr P as always and rather a odd result considering what is advertised with the generators 👏👏👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hello. This was fun to watch :)
Slurry generator thing, and use distribute to pipe it to a miniBGA
Nice way to think outside the box
I’ve been playing this game for about four years, and I have never plowed ground or planted a single crop. I usually do the start from scratch and I allow myself one pick up and a chainsaw so I guess I’m starting off a little better than you did with a bicycle and zero dollars
The figure you see of income amount when planting it.. is gross.. the figure you receive in net.. taxes?
Supposedly the figure shown is the average amount, but apparently the game does actually calculate actual income based on weather conditions and the month.
You cut down trees, you eat your lunch, you go to the lavatory.
Depending on the map I always use sheds with solar panels when possible and put some windturbines in as it will give you a steady income and if possible use electric tractors/harvesters as it definetely cuts down on fuel bills drastically. Their is a mod called Pack_Electric that converts basegame vehicles to electric ones. Sadly that mod is only for PC afaik.
Yeah but when I thinking about it, it is really realistic. You don't have sunshine all day, don't have wind all the time as different directions +++ But I agree, the income in terms of what it says it is supposed to be seem a bit of
Been playing fs for 8 years r so and never made 1 million always get board of a map and start a new 1 lol
Oh i thought that was just me, literally every game doesnt last. I have this thing where once i know how the game plays i start again thinking i can do better. Then i do, but then there are new mods and i want to use those so i start again with them. I usually find out what vehicles work best with what and get them. Or i place a silo bunker and it makes the ground raise up so high i delete the game 😂
I turn every map I play into endless rolling grasslands. Usually use a TMR production to dump grass and hay in and get TMR out. Then max out my game with cows. PS4 lags quite badly if you put too many large cow enclosures together haha.
Del Boy formally known as MrSealp 😂
Very inspiring, thank you.
This is brilliant Mr Sealey P going to be following this 👍
Thumbs up!
Fantastic work mrsealyp 👍
Just wondering if the mods machines you put in are not engineered like the game ones and therefore don't pay what they say they will??? Might be an interesting idea to set 1 farm up with FS22 stuff and then do another one with just mods and see what the pay per day is??? anyway something to think about. Thanks for the video.
try speeding up time in the menu instead of skipping by sleeping, i have a feeling (didn't actually test it) that productions don't produce as much as you skip time but do produce when i speed up time. perhaps the same goes for the generators.
I don't think this ruines the game at all. It's just a extra bonus income etc.. Adds different things to the game, things that is a part of real life
Another amazing video ty ❤
This was very fun to watch. I'm going to play one like this loved it. I generally enjoyed this thank you and I can't wait to see you come up next.
Well that’s 48 minutes of my life I’m never getting back lol 😂
pretty sure there's a debuff per generator placed, not even if it's different, IE gas, wind, solar. it counts them as 3 and you 'll lose an exponential amount more per generator placed. so, a few of the big ones and then sell off the others will yield a significant amount more.
Don't know how you managed to get planning permission for all that? Neighbours must love you 😂
Did you watch the recent Spiffing Brit video on this same subject?
I'm doing something similar to this on No Mans Land.
It's hard going, but it's fun 😁
Enjoyed the video
I wonder if the incomes are based on 3 day months?
@28 mins ish - "that style of turbine" - that would be an Enercon Turbine (I work for them)
Are you taking into account the mantainance costs which may account for the short fall ?
The thing is can the same thing be done if you are paying monthly/daily expenses everyone has? You know things like eating costs, rent/mortgage, car loans etc.
its interesting that even the Property Income amount dosnt seem to match what is actually being deposited into the bank. @44min when you started just going forward months, the second month said your income was only $260k yet your bank balance went up about $390k.
Here’s an idea saw a video on here if you use the mini bga I think it’s called and put a manure heap next to it and put some manure in it the manure never runs out but you get infinite money and digestate
This should be interesting 🤔
i also try this with only greenhouses > automatic irrigation > auto sell. And some maps even have build in flower and champion greenhouse
I would charge the car's owner for parking in front of your garage.
1.9 Million in the bank and he still cycles around in t-shirt and baseball cap. 😂
Awesome idea, what a great change from the usual farming videos. Please do more.
When you were fast forwarding time hour by hour you were making $45k an hour. Over 24 hrs it should've been over a million. Maybe the rates are based on never skipping time or sleeping. But I don't know.
It was an interesting concept and Fun to watch tho.
DANGER! Do not enter! The high radiation farm! ⛔😁
Seems pretty realistic. The "clean energy" lie is almost exactly like this, HUGE investment, tiny return. Feels good upfront until you see the massive graveyards of rusting windmill parts and toxic dumps of solar panels and lithium batteries but HEY! it feels good on the front end doesn't it? Look! we're helping!
I always hate the start-from-scratch setting since you never start from zero so you have to add the mod “start from zero” to achieve that (on console I mean)
Not the hardest thing to do man
Giants didn't put a "start from literal zero" setting because it would be insanely boring and tedious, you'd have no initial income except for contracts. (Or you could take a loan, which makes it barely any different from current Start From Scratch)
That's why every FS "start from $0 challenge" on UA-cam is clickbait. They always start with something, usually land with trees on it and a chainsaw plus a pickup or tractor and trailer.
if it is in the game use it !!! How can u break a game with stuff thats in it great idea love it
I’ve noticed this before and now I’m wondering if it is due to the month being 1 day; so prorated so to speak. I haven’t done a day for day run to see if then the amounts generate what they actually say.
Heads up. No more flour production at the grain mill!!! It's been removed and only a sell point now
Any chance you have the electronic variable price mod i think it is shows daily electronic price on screen at a point in day or is that a pc only thing
