So, I bit the bullet and tried this color on Jett, and I love it. I'm 38 and I find in the sort style it's a much more dramatic look that actually makes me look younger.

I have this color on Perry and absolutely get compliments aplenty. Having said that, I would not get this color on a long wig. This color is for short, trendy styles that can be manipulated with styling gel. It seems on a short wig, the color is not as garish. You are correct in similar colors. JR Palm Springs Blonde is very close, but more platinum than grey IMO. I would like to see more vibrant reds and purples come out in these brands. The platinums are gathering a little dust I think.

I agree with you Heather about the color. I'm 66. I went from a deep brown to totally white/platinum by 26,(genetics) -not coarse just hair devoid of pigment -and I can tell you that no matter what your age these color lack color and so you have to add color to your face -period no matter what your age is. And another thought ... why oh why couldn't thus trend have been popular when I was young? LOL

I always love your honest reviews which is why I never purchase a wig without watching them. Jamison in Silversun would work perfectly for this 70 year old who already has full on grey bio hair. On you it totally washes you out which is definitely no bueno. I also don't wear wigs that I have to wear a ton of makeup to do so. I do have a couple but that was when I was younger and less knowledgeable. As they say.....when you know better you do better. I only wear makeup when hubby and I are going out to dinner, or something like that otherwise I'm a no makeup kind of gal. Occasionally I'll remember to put some eyebrows on and I always put some lip gloss on and that's only because my lips are always so dry and pealing. As always Heather, thank you for your honestly.

Honesty is the best policy. Some influencers come across like they're about to wet themselves - some even tear up. Lord help us all! [Eye-roll emoji] Wig-buying online takes a huge amount of time in terms of colours, styles, cap size etc. I was eyeing this color up, but in the end, decided it was basically silver with a brown root - and I'm a looong way from being that silver!

I really appreciate this review. I kept seeing gray and silver, but reviews kept saying platinum with a bit of gold blonde... I've noticed that as soon as they're bought that there are a lot of them for sale. Thanks for the skinny of this color.

100% agree with you on this one. It definitely would wash me out too, being light complexion. I usually tend to blondes or light browns. It would be nice if someone did a video on hair colors that match your eye colors. Like blue/green eyes would be good in blondes, etc....Heather still waiting on your daily routine of food intake and how much exercise you do daily...You look fabulous.

Total agree with you. I'm not a blonde or grey wig wearer. I personally think grey is very aging. Yes I have the white wings. But give me a red or Auburn and you have me, as I've always considered myself as mouse brown. So colour is what I'm all about!!
Grays can work on the right person, or with the right complexion or make-up, but this one just didn't work for me, especially with no makeup. But since I prefer reds and Nigel prefers brunettes, it's not really an issue. ;)

I now wear silver wigs because i have reached "that" age, and in my opinion, women above 60 who have brightly colored hair, make themselves look older and fake.

Bought this color. I was excited to get it, however it totally washed me out too. I ended up returning it. I’m 55, I do though really love the Chromert1b-great color and it does not wash you out.
Yeah, it's a tricky thing sometimes, trying to find a gray that works for you. What works for someone else might not work for you because of skin tone, or style, or face shape, and it doesn't help that wig manufacturers just don't want to make that many different grays to begin with.
@@ChrissyGrace2611 chrome is different, more steel grey and with a strong contrast of black root
Heather I like what you do here, as your video states...My problem with all these "trendy" greys is that as my hair is turning grey it is dispersed unevenly all over my head so when I see "grey" wigs they usually either have a huge light "blob" in the front for bangs and then darker colors as you go toward the nape, or they are like this where they are rooted and then all the descending hair is light...I fall into neither category and decided to buck the trend and say "the heck with it" and dyed what hair I do have (a little longer than you) closer to the colors of wig that flatter my face/skin tone/age etc...so that since I have what I call "ample" side burns, it helps my wigs look more natural...This new trend reminds me of when women many years ago would dye their hair really dark (like Elvis dark) when they were very advanced in years and it just totally drained all the life and color out of their faces... I kind of feel the same way about trends as I do the dreaded bell-bottom pants that don't seem to flatter any figure whatsoever! Just sayin'....Keep all that truth coming, girl! We can take it, and I think we all want it!!!! Thanks again for the awesome way you do what you do!

I have just purchased this color in Jett. I haven’t decided whether or not to keep it. I am 68, so the color doesn’t age me, but I wish the brown was a little more prominent and peeked out more. I might be able to make it do so with gel, but then I wouldn’t be able to send it back if I decide against it. My bio hair is more brown than gray (with alopecia), but I have a cheap 613/T4 that I always get compliments wearing. It seems hard to find a really brown with intense platinum frost or highlights that lets the brown show. BTW I’m waiting on the Ellen Wille color you mentioned. Hopefully, that will help me decide.
I could definitely see this color being much for edgy and chic on a short style like Jett, but I couldn't imagine it on something like Bay 😣 -- Noriko's Chocolate Frost is a great brunette with intense blonde highlights, it's truly a one of a kind color. Oh my gosh..I looove this color. I bought it in 3 wigs so far..Hunter in this color kicks major butt. :) I find it works really well with my skin tone which is cool toned light to medium... If that helps anybody.

I very often wear silver wigs and I'm a level 7. (70) I'm not crazy about the rooted grays because, well we don't have dark roots and they look strange in brown. I wish someone would try a silver on a medium to light gray root! I not an option I've seen yet. I always look for really ashy blondes, but they seem to be addicted to adding gold in. Anyway, you look great in every color and after watching your video on hints for how to match colors up, I know why! TY for all your videos!

I purchased Jamison from you, not this color. I really like Jamison BUT it falls in my face something terrible. I watched this video and the front didn't fall in your face at all. What is wrong? Did you steam this wig? What can I do?
Heather reviews all of her wigs straight out of the box, so this gal definitely wasn't steamed beforehand. Keep in mind, there is a LOT of wiggle room for differences between one wig and another in the exact same style and color. This is because a lot of these stylistic features are still being done by hand! I recently bought Ellis in sun silver from Cysterwigs. I am a fan of silvery grey. I like this color because it's definitely not a yellow blond. I powdered the roots to lighten them up. Let me caution other wig buyers that this cap is surprisingly tight,-tighter than Jamison. Also, the cap sits in a bump above my head. I wet the cap and have been wearing it wet to stretch it out, and that seems to be helping. My favorite wig of alll time was Scorpio in 56/60 when it was made under theRevlon name.The fibers were silky and had incredible movement. Sadly, now Orchid has limited grays and they are a bit weird like lilac and white with black roots. Please tell Orchid touring back 56/60 and the silky fibers with movement

As for manufacturer requests, the thing we always recommend is for the customers to contact them directly. Manufacturers listen to customers WAY more than they do to stores!
You couldn't be more right, it is not a unique color and I am disappointed with some of the influencers who pretend that this is a color that they would readily wear. The reason many women go blonde instead of grey isn't because of a stigma attached to grey hair, it is simply because it is very aging. Thank you Heather for pointing out things that influencers who get free hair would never do.

Not typically. They usually root the front hair line like Jon Renau does. ;)

I love the color, but I certainly don't want to look older. I like RW's R23+. That's as much ash as I can do. Because my hair is mostly white, wigs let me try other colors that I would not otherwise be able to do. But think I will shy from this color. Maybe try a red.😊

I have this color in Ocean and it is gorgeous. It only makes you look old if you have it in an older style. I agree that the silver colors can age, but I don't think this is that silver. Ocean is not that silver. It's more of a white with dark roots. It is so pretty. I love the ashy colors and it is very hard to get in the lighter shades. I think you look nice in it.

LOL, you are waaay too young to wear that color. And I love your honesty - it is what most of us really want to hear. That said - do you know of any wigs similar instyle to Jamison that come in a color sometimes known as 60B. A beigy gray rather than the blue gray. I would SURE be appreciative of a recommendation = thank you.

But Estetica fits larger heads better than Ellen Wille. I like EW wigs, but they slide off my head,- too small. I'm glad that a company that makes roomier caps has added this color. I treid wearing pale blond as an alternative to my grey bio hair, but on me, it looks dated and fake.
I find that tones close to sterling silver (56/60, etc) look best with my older skin tones. However, i am beginning to consider being adventurous and try a very pale copper wig.
Hello, macpduff! Yeah, pale blondes and ash blondes aren't for everyone, but they're what's popular, now, so that's what's getting made. Kind of a downer for fans of the other colors, though. But at least you've found a cap construction you like. That's a major win in and of itself!

I think any age can wear this color! I don't find it aging at all. Salt and pepper and dull grey would be aging. I think it looks great on you but only your opinion matters!!!

I feel like your comments about Estetica hyping their colors with giveaways to influencers is pretty applicable this year too. Chocolate smoke? Orchid? Icy shadow? I get that they look cool in selfies with full makeup, but is anybody actually rocking these shades out in public more than once?

I think the chocolate smoke is down right ugly. It's flat and not feminine at all. IMO
I don't think it's not good on you because you are young, I think it's because you look awesome in warm tones. The color is too cool on you. It does make you look younger, like you put on your mother's wig. lol. Maybe it will make a middle aged person look younger too! I love this color in Avalon on the mannequin that's spinning on youtube. I wish I could find it on a person.
LOL! Yeah, that's a tough one. Most influencers out there only want to showcase ash blondes over and over and over again, and ignore all the other colours. Heather's trying to get around to showing as many wigs in as many colours as possible, but as you can imagine, that's going to take a while!

I know grey is a trend, but I just don't get it. Guess I'm just not fashion forward, never have been. Grey is fine on older women - guess I'm one of them at 56 but my bio hair is not grey and I think I would look bizarre in grey. I'm also too impatient to wait months for a color. when there are plenty of other nice choices.
