I hate it when at a bird reserve, you wearing headphones, you have a pole with a large shotgun mic with surrounding boom protection with a fluffy wind jammer on top, a digital recorder and clearly standing still, with shotgun pointing high at a branch. You are standing dead still and looking high at the tree, so pretty obvious you are recording bird song. Then you hear footsteps and 'What you doing there young man?'..................I turn and say 'I'm recording!' And then the voluteer Ranger laughs nerviously and then says 'What Birds!' I then Sigh loudly as the Bird has flown off, and turn the recorder off. That is what happened this week! Now I'm not the most patient with individuals that should know better, so I will not go into what I said to this volunteer ranger! lol Needless to say, his last words after I asked him a question was 'There's no need to be like that!' lol
No, because the camera is not designed for audio recording specifically. You’d have to use a dedicated recorder to either record sound in a video separately and sync it in post or, more ideally, hook it up to a camera and use it as the external audio recorder (mixer) for the camera with timecode.
Does this apply for recording sounds of other animals? What if I want to go to a farm and get a recording of a cow mooing? Or go to a zoo to get a recording of a lion roaring?
The long mics in this video with the furry cover are shotgun mics , like a Sennheiser 416 or a Rode NTG4. and Rycote make the furry covers and cases... the other satellite dish looking microphone thing, i dunno what that microphone is!
Great channel guys! Do you guys also collect John Gould's original bird lithographs? I've just bought a Lophorina Superb one and started to be interested in birds.
*Fantastic ⭐😎 absolutely💯 wonderful ⭐*
The dancing bears on the belt is a nice touch. :-)

What's this equipment? Can a camera with a mic record nature sounds well?

Be careful about eating too much.
Flatulence is a source of both noise and air pollution. And it’ll be recorded for posterity.
👍👍
Gayathri Girish, look at bird bath
