Didn’t pause this video (just felt wrong as I was really just enjoying and taking everything in) so unfortunately my video kept getting blocked 😅 I had to dim the video a little so it’s a little darker to be able to post! Sorry about that, but I hope you all enjoy it! I’ll pause in the future or is you all don’t mind have overlays for more DM reactions ♥️
@@richardlionheart6701 ...OMG!! I can't believe Fletch passed!!?? I just looked it up hoping you were wrong, it's been almost a year! How the hell did I miss that? I am soooo sad. IMO he was the glue that often held them together, filling different roles when and where needed, that and his struggles with anxiety and depression over the years, is why I identified with him more than the other members, hell probably more than any other musician I looked up to in the 80s and 90s. Such a loss, my heart goes out to his family and friends.
same here brother. call me crazy but The Bangles also had some awesome stuff. September Girls by them is actually in my top 10 all time favorite songs. Its such a mellow vibe.
Quite a few rock and metal bands has been influenced by Depeche mode. Rammstein are great fans and has covered a few of their songs. Though I consider myself a rocker/metalhead, I'm a sucker for well composed pop-music, and not the easily chewed and spit out stuff..
Yes! And they are totaly addictive ! I need some rehab ! I was on concert 23th july, I'm still there ! Litterly -Just can't get enough! Enjoing was on MAX ❤
Dave is such an amazing lead man. Even when he was battling decades of heroin addiction you could tell that the stage was where he felt at peace and the band and fans were his comfort. So glad he was able to overcome his demons. R.I.P fletch ❤
As an introvert this song is one of my favorites, the lyrics are so relevant to me, "words, like violence, break the silence, come crashing in, into my little world. Painful to me, pierce right through me, can't you understand, oh my little girl." We introverts spend a lot of time in our own little worlds inside our heads and when someone starts talking to us, sometimes words are like violence. Also, Depeche Mode are a legendary group, with many iconic songs. Depeche Mode headlined the electronic movement of the '80s, then became superstars in the '90s with their mix of synths and guitars. So many fantastic songs. They are still going strong, playing to over three million people on their latest world tour.
I'm a metal head through and through, but I fucking love Depeche Mode! You nailed the feeling that you get when seeing them live. They create a moment for over 2 hours. I'm flying from Seattle to Paris to see them in a couple of months, and I can't be more excited.
Oh Aileen! You make me so happy. DM is the soundtrack of my life. I'm a fan since 1989. 1993 I went to the first concert...and I was blown away. I daught by myself "unfortunately, if I will ever have a child, this will never see them live in concert!" What can I say? It's 2023, my son is 23 y.o. and we will go to DM next month...again! We saw them together 4 times since 2013. They still fill stadiums in minutes. One of them is missing very much. R.i.p. "Fletch". Thank you Aileen. If you want to hear the background-angle, choose "Home", "One caress " and "a question of lust"❤
RIP Fletch. Enjoy The Silence is my favourite song on the Violator album, and I first heard it in the mid 90's around the time I split with my then girlfriend. The lyrics are still poignant three decades later "all I ever wanted, all I ever needed is here in my arms"
One of my favourite songs of all time - and this is the PERFECT way for you to experience this for the first time. Best live performance of this track ever. I've been fortunate to see them live a few times, and being in that audience, who are all so passionate about these lads and being a part of all that, is akin to a religious experience.
Love Depeche mode, I can remember going to see them many years ago when they first started out. Another band that will definitely get you dancing in your chair are the Swedish classically trained trio DIRTY LOOPS, They are JONAH NILSSON singer/ keyboard player with a great funky Michael Jackson/ Stevie wonder style voice, HENRIK LINDER, one of today's great bass players, and on drums the very underrated AARON MELLERGARD.I call their music "HAPPY FEEL GOOD MUSIC" 😊I first came across singer JONAH NILSSON in a collaboration video with my favourite guitarist STEVE VAI in a video called JONAH NILSSON-DIAMOND RING, a cameo guitar solo from Steve and also a cameo appearance from dirty loops manager and mentor the old legend QUINCY JONES, Quincy doing some unusual move's at the end of the video.(If anyone out there is not familiar with STEVE VAI steve was vote one of the top 10 guitar player's of all time, a great video to see steve in action at his usual greatness STEVE VAI INCREDIBLE GUITAR PERFORMANCE HD video. DIRTY LOOPS do an UNBELIEVABLE version of Michael Jackson's THRILLER a collaboration with guitar player CORY WONG and his musicians, dirty loops recorded their part in Stockholm Sweden and Cory wong and his great horn section recorded their part in Minneapolis. once you've watched one dirty loops video you've will have to watch another and another. Then you've got to watch DIRTY LOOPS incredible studio video's starting with one of dirty loops fans favorite songs with a great title WORK SHIT OUT, great bass and drums from HENRIK LINDER and AARON MELLERGARD. Also have a look at the funny credits at the end of this song. Then have a look at WORLD ON FIRE, ROCK YOU, HIT ME, then the 8 minute long classic NEXT TO YOU, Jonah Nilsson's vocals with a hint of gospel will take you all the way to church and back, drummer Aaron Mellergard singing harmonies in the video A beautiful ballad you might have a few tears is the beautiful BREAKDOWN great vocals again from jonah Nilsson. Another 3 instrumentals with strange titles are SONGS FOR LOVERS COFFEE BREAK IS OVER, SONGS FOR LOVERS BITTEN BY THE KITTEN, and SONGS FOR LOVERS OLD ARMANDO HAD A FARM, again funny credits at the end of old Armando had a farm with pigs, sheep cows ect. remember all the songs the studio video's not live ones, and to finish off Jonah Nilsson sang Michael Jackson's BILLY JEAN for his mentor QUINCY JONES in PARIS, Quincy sitting at the side of the stage welcoming the musicians to the stage . Two bass players from way back in the Michael Jackson days RICHARD BONA and MARCUS MILLER. A few suggestions to start your dirty loops journey. best wishes from the north east coast of England.
this was taken from my absolute team as music (DM) ..From Cluj...Romania..i,m old yor generation has more to discovrer!!don't know how much you like it and discover now when your young, or how much praises and follows for channel!..ever way..enjoy!!

However, it always strikes me silly when fans claim that one specific band is unequaled in their music, stage presence or whatever else. It´s just simply not true because you probably never even listened to some of the really great artists let alone saw them live.

Depeche Mode concerts are one of my happiest places. The joy is infectious and every person there is full of love and excitement. It is electric because we are really like a family. Saw them this month and can't wait to see them again in November! ETA it broke my heart not to see Fletcher and his patented over head clap up there. RIP Fletch
Over the Decades I've been to so many concerts from Depeche Mode. First one was in 1983 when they were playing in front of just a few hundred people. Since then It has become like an religious experience. The energie given back and fourth. The are these moments like this show you just reacted to or the show in Paris where they created some moments to by celebrating "Never let me down again" or "Freelove". Both very worthy of a reaction of yours. I just loved this one today. Keep it up!
I was 17 when they released this song. And even though metal is my 1st love, DM holds a special place in my heart. Whenever I hear them they take me back to happy places and the memories become very visable. It's an art, not just another perfomence and you felt it.
Depeche Mode is a religious experience. Pure genius song writing. Deep, dark, disturbing, soul stirring, relevant, so many people identify with their music. Legend group of the 80's. The best and my favorite band of the 80-90's. Synthpop icons.
They're from the 90s and different genres though still electronic music (trance, prog house and trip hop) but what about Faithless? Especially live. Or Goldfrapp, especially for the first 3 albums?
True. But young people today want music they can call their own. I can't say I like that music, or understand it, but the kids deserve their own style or sound or whatever you want to call it. DM were new and exciting back when they started and kids like me were hypnotised. I still am, truth be told. But it's good that new bands today are not like Depeche Mode, that's the way it should be. That said, it's sooo nice when I see the younger fans at a DM gig, it's great to see them feel what we all felt all that time ago.
I've seen Depeche Mode 5 times in concert, and each time was an incredible experience sharing in the love of their music with everyone. Absolutely incredible in person and they make it so interactive with the audience . A must see, and they return to L.A this year!!!!🙌🙌🙌 concert number 6, here I come!
It took me a little bit to get into these guys when i first heard them back in the late 80s. Now, i consider them to be one of the best on the planet. This video proves why.
Probably the best reaction to this ever, so joyful. Just in case you were wondering Aileen, he is saying Mr. Martin L. Goooooooorrrrrrrrreeeeeee (Gore) at that bit... 7:24
I've seen them a few times. One of those times I think might have been this same tour. They had those same contortionist in the background. I got about half way though this song before I realised that that was a video of those contortionists. They stayed so still the whole time but you'd see them make slight adjustments or move their eyes. Depeche Mode puts on a great show, they have lots of great songs. Great band to catch
There's no better act to see. Your soul gets taken over. Dave captures the stage. Make sure you get to see them live at least once in your life! This summer, I see them in the Golden Circle at Twickenham! First time I saw them in 84/85 at Wembley Arena, UK. They've been a big part of my life. Fortunate to chat and shake hands with Peter Gordeno in 2021 when Dave Gahan was with the Soulsavers at the London Coliseum.
Depeche Mode (French for "fast fashion") was formed in 1980 as a British synth pop group w/ Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin L. Gore (guitar/ keys), Vince Clarke (keys) and Andrew 'Fletch' Fletcher (samples/ keys)... They had an early pop hit in 1981 - "Just can't get enough"... Vince Clarke soon left and was replaced by Alan Wilder (keys/ drums) and Depeche Mode made a name for themselves w/ a string of studio albums which were written mostly by Martin Gore ... By 1986, Depeche Mode was developing a more 'gothic' sound and dark delivery w/ the albums 'Black celebration' (1986) and 'Music for the masses' (1987) and grew even more popular as a result... They headlined the Rose Bowl stadium in California on that tour in 1988. 'Violator' (1990) was the record that pushed Depeche Mode into superstar status, scoring huge singles - 'Personal Jesus'... 'Enjoy the silence'... 'Policy of truth'... and sold 3x platinum in the US (3 million copies). However, Depeche Mode became dysfunctional w/ fame & fortune, and Dave Gahan (lead vocals) also became hooked on heroin as the band released 'Songs of faith and devotion' (1993) and toured into 1994... Alan Wilder would leave the band and was never replaced; Depeche Mode would play concert w/ various hired musicians. They returned in 1997 w/ the album 'Ultra'... but Dave Gahan was still recovering from his addictions... Depeche Mode did not tour until 1998 after Gahan was in better shape. Gore, Gahan and Fletcher carried on recording and touring for the next 2 decades. In 2022, Andrew Fletcher died unexpectedly at age 60... Depeche Mode have announced that they would honor him w/ a new album 'Memento Mori' in 2023 and a tour to follow.
I loved watching your reactions to DM. I've been a fan of theirs since the 80's (yes, it ages me). You will most likely like Dream On from The Exciter Tour 2021.
Truly enjoyed this reaction. Glad that you notice the love the band has for the audience and the music that made them be able to do this. Beautiful energy is recognized by beautiful people with said energy.
If you're feeling it this much just watching their live performance, imagine actually being there. Ive seen them multiple times and I cried my eyes out at every single show. You feel it through and through 🖤
Huge fan since the first song on the first album (when Vince Clark was with them), and everything since. They were a major influence on bringing electronic and 'found' recorded (sampled) sounds to music. Later incorporated more rock flavor. Always awesome, seen them live many, many times, and yes, it is like a religious experience!
Check also «Useless», «In your room», «Judas» and «Walking in my shoes». Of course, there is no stopping me to talk about every their song, but you have to start somewhere)
Depeche Mode are LEGENDS. Saw them live a couple years ago with my mother because it was one of her bucket list bands. Now we're going again this summer because you can never be sure how long a band of that age can still tour. The whole concert is a spectacle and Dave has an insane presence on stage. There's alomst no-one else who can act like he does without it feeling fake, but he makes everything feel natural. Like those spins around... in 99,9999% of Bands that would feel tacky but when he does it it's like "you, how else would you move at that moment".
Yeah being at a Depeche Mode concert is a whole experience. Some of the best concerts I´ve ever been too. Dave doesn´t have to sing the choruses anymore. The audience always sings for him. Personal Jesus is wonderful live. Everyone reaches out when he sings "Reach out and touch Faith" It´s glorious!
I've been a fan since I was 8 years old - that was in 1983. For me there is no better band. My first concert was when I was 18 and since then I've been to at least 2 concerts on every tour. Dave's energy is indescribable. The more the fans follow along, the better he gets and the bigger his smile will be! simply indescribable! Goosebumps from start to finish! For me they are simply the greatest!
I saw them two days ago in Berlin and it was again epic. They are absolute a live Band and they fascinated Millions of people. When 75.000 people singing the songs…… I’ts gorgeous ❤❤❤
I watched the original performance of this at the Great Western Forum in LA and I agree it’s a Moment, but one to remember. Please also review their “But Not Tonight” by both: Dave singing it then the more recent version of Martin singing it. Somebody song by Martin.
The dancing got u a sub❤. Depeche Mode( and other new wave)..the band the metalheads hated and got hated on for listening. I on the other hand, I loved them both. Grade 10 we had to get British LP imports in order to listen to them. Then grade 12 Personal Jesus hit it big and everyone was listening to them.
So awesome that new generations are exposed to Depeche Mode music. Their music is eternal and keeps on living by the fans. We need more DM fans to make this world slightly better
I was familiar with them but never really a fan, then some years ago a friend of mine toook me to a concert. It was a transofmrative experience, they are the whole package: absolute top-tier showmanship and musicianship, paired with the irresistible joy and unending love for the music and the audience, you 100% feel how happy they are that you are there, just to dance and have fun toghether:)
I saw these guys in concert three times during the course of my childhood. Each time, I came out of it entranced, sweaty, spent, satisfied, half deaf, and with no voice. Legends.
Welcome to the 80s when the best music was produced ;), in my opinion. I don't know your age but it's a decade with loads of music that needs to be re-experienced/discovered by the younger generation of music lovers, who have missed out on the history and experiences of music development. I was born in 1969 and grew up during this musical journey. Hope you continue your journey..... exploring great music. Love from Sweden.
Depeche Mode has literally been my favorite band since I was a young kid. I grew up hearing their music because of people in my family & I have been a fan ever since. They put on phenomenal live shows & their music is the best. Every album they've done, I've absolutely loved. Also, Martin Gore, the guy that was doing the backing/harmonizing vocals, actually does lead vocals on some of their songs, too. Some of my favorites that he sings are "A Question Of Lust", "Somebody", "I Want You Now" & "Home". He does others, but if you ever want to react to some he does vocals on, those are good ones to check out. I'd love to see more DM reactions from you, I think you'll love them so much the more you listen to them!
Love your reaction to DM! I've been feeling the same thing since the 80s. They have that effect on people. Just saw them in April and they are still as powerful and emotional as ever.
DM is one of the greatest live bands ever. such commanding stage presence. they are touring in the US this fall, can't wait! they have so many great live performances, also check out never let me down again, world in my eyes, walking in my shoes.
I live in Nashville TN and they have the cheapest tickets for the tour here. I grew up in Miami and glad there’s not a high demand here for them with all this country bs. $18 a ticket here. Every other city was like $80 or $100 each.

Depeche Mode is a religious experience. Pure genius song writing. Deep, dark, disturbing, soul stirring, relevant, so many people identify with their music. Legend group of the 80's. The best and my favorite band of the 80-90's. Synthpop icons.
Great reaction to a band I have known for 40 years. Enjoy the silence
There are no new bands like Depeche Mode anymore. Not even one.
Closest for me is ladytron, but that was over 20 years ago lol.. Completely different bands, but got the same feeling when first discovering.
They're from the 90s and different genres though still electronic music (trance, prog house and trip hop) but what about Faithless? Especially live.
Or Goldfrapp, especially for the first 3 albums?
@@mrglasses8953 Again, no NEW bands. Modern music all sounds the same. The mastering nowadays is a pain in the ....:)
Going to my third DM live concert in just 2 weeks!
So lucky.
Just class 🏴🏴🏴🏴
It took me a little bit to get into these guys when i first heard them back in the late 80s. Now, i consider them to be one of the best on the planet. This video proves why.
Probably the best reaction to this ever, so joyful. Just in case you were wondering Aileen, he is saying Mr. Martin L. Goooooooorrrrrrrrreeeeeee (Gore) at that bit... 7:24
You are so right Martin and Dave's voice are amazing they have always had tremendous harmony. Depeche Mode is just an amazing legendary band
My Top 3 concerts in my life are 1) Depeche Mode, 2) Depeche Mode, and 3) Depeche Mode. One of the greatest live bands in history....hands down.
It's also rare to get to have a band almost you're entire life to age with. It's been a ride.
their 101 live performance of Never Let me Down Again is pure energy
Fan since 1983...you have 40 yrs to catch up...I just saw them again 3 weeks ago and Im still on cloud nine❤ DM is a religion😆great reaction!
Great performance by a legendary band, but what i liked the most was seeing Aileen being happy and smiling.
Watching you react to this song put a smile on my face and makes me feel so happy
Personal Jesus official video is one of their best ones❤
I've seen them a few times. One of those times I think might have been this same tour. They had those same contortionist in the background. I got about half way though this song before I realised that that was a video of those contortionists. They stayed so still the whole time but you'd see them make slight adjustments or move their eyes. Depeche Mode puts on a great show, they have lots of great songs. Great band to catch
Cool thing is Chester Bennington was a huge Depeche Mode fan.
didn´t know for a long time the reinterpretation of this song (2004) was from Mike Shinoda
Mike Shinoda is also, he was even asked once if he weren't in Linkin Park, what other band would he like to be in and he said only one, Depeche Mode.
Everybody is
Anyone with any taste is😊
There's no better act to see.
Songs of faith and devotion surpasseed Violator in my opinion. a true master piece.
@@mauricecohen3830 That's your opinion, but 2 million people who didn't buy it would disagree.
@@sumonjamal1653 Isn't it what I said? My opinion. Jeez!
New Life was their first UK hit, i am also a fan of their other early hits….See You, Get The Balance Right and in 84….Everything Counts
@@mauricecohen3830 Your opinion is waaaay off lol. 😂
This song takes you to another time.
Honestly, you just relaxing and vibing with this song is exactly how one should go with it and enjoy it. I’m happy just looking at you being happy
I loved watching your reactions to DM. I've been a fan of theirs since the 80's (yes, it ages me). You will most likely like Dream On from The Exciter Tour 2021.
So cool Aileen! Down the rabbit hole you go!
Wonderful reaction to a brilliant live video from DM :-)
Truly enjoyed this reaction. Glad that you notice the love the band has for the audience and the music that made them be able to do this. Beautiful energy is recognized by beautiful people with said energy.
You need to check out "never let me down again" Depeche Mode live
The most amazing group ever that I can never explain what genre they belong in. They stand alone! Enjoy the Silence everyone.
I think synthrock is the best description.
Still my favourite song! Thanks for ur reaction! :)
saw them perform this at "rock am ring" here in germany many years ago in 2006. over 80.000 people singing along was quite an experience.
You did a reaction of the gods. Another subscriber
If you're feeling it this much just watching their live performance, imagine actually being there. Ive seen them multiple times and I cried my eyes out at every single show. You feel it through and through 🖤
My mom made sure to show me Depeche Mode at 12 when I started listening to music. She knew this was gonna be the best for my starter kit
your starter kit love it
The whole album of Violator is excellent.. My favorite is Halo .
One of the best band ever
Awesome band still enjoy listening to them.
Please also review their “But Not Tonight” by both:
Dave singing it then the more recent version of Martin singing it.
Somebody song by Martin.
They've been my favorite band for 25 years. Have seen them a dozen times live. Always amazing.
Check of the dance club massive hit, Strangelove live @ Passadena 1988. 60k in the crowd.
Dave was an animal on stage, an incredible frontman ......
he still is! I saw them live in Montreal one week ago, and it was fantastic!
@@stephanewantiez164 💯agreed
@@stephanewantiez164 so excited for Twickenham 🎉
There are so many good Depeche Mode songs.
Depeche mode is not a group,
Its a religion.
Loved your reaction.♥️
"Never let me down" live in paris - is one of de best live performances ever !❤️
Your face was glowing all the time - lovely reaction :)
The most amazing live band ever!!
they coming to Miami Soon
The dancing got u a sub❤. Depeche Mode( and other new wave)..the band the metalheads hated and got hated on for listening. I on the other hand, I loved them both. Grade 10 we had to get British LP imports in order to listen to them. Then grade 12 Personal Jesus hit it big and everyone was listening to them.
Saw them in Sacramento in March at their world wide tour kickoff…40 years after seeing them the first time…amazing
So awesome that new generations are exposed to Depeche Mode music. Their music is eternal and keeps on living by the fans. We need more DM fans to make this world slightly better
Nice to see you enjoying yourself in this video
The album this song is from "Violator"....is insanely good every track is a gem x 😊
welcome to real icon passionate music. Depeche for the win.
I was familiar with them but never really a fan, then some years ago a friend of mine toook me to a concert. It was a transofmrative experience, they are the whole package: absolute top-tier showmanship and musicianship, paired with the irresistible joy and unending love for the music and the audience, you 100% feel how happy they are that you are there, just to dance and have fun toghether:)
i loved them when i was 6 , i still love them and im now 40!
I saw these guys in concert three times during the course of my childhood. Each time, I came out of it entranced, sweaty, spent, satisfied, half deaf, and with no voice. Legends.
I get to see them again this October!
Love from Sweden.
över norden jag härskar
Went to a Depeche Mode concert yesterday, with 15000 other people!
"Strange love" is a nice one too from DM
