This was a wonderful video. I changed the valve by simply following the step by step instructions. I tried two other videos and got very frustrated. This method involved fewer steps and had better close-ups. To make it even better, there were birds chirping in the background.Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant video! Very well explained and illustrated. I revived my DC40 for £9 and I serviced it too. Thank you! 😊
Great video after watching the video I’ve just ordered the pipe
That one screw on the back side that holds the bracket together was a pain to put back in. Other than that it was easy. Some engineer needs to be taken behind the woodshed. Put all the screws on one side
Great video. That you!
Great instructions, thanks for your help 🙏🏻
Thanks for the walkthrough, fixed one up that I paid $10 for at a thrift store, and now it's like new.
great video very informative and helpful
I had been polishing my carpets for a few months.....before realising the hose was working but not the carpet head which was just brushing with an asthematic wheeze....now fitted the new pipe and the dust mites are history......Great video. I took off both sides (wheels) for more access.
Great video - easy to follow even for a non DIY person like me! Thank you
hi thankyou so so much ive just completed changing the hose got it of amazon for less than 10 pounds and took me 15 minutes step by step instructions very clear the hardest part was putting the little screw with the rubber washer back in little tip got a bit of blutac on the end of the screwdriver to position it just hoovered the front room carpet wife says its like having a brand new hoover saved me at least 90 pound going to a repair shop thanks again
I just ordered the part. Saved me hundreds of dollars. 🙏
Thanks dude! Good video though I would recommend taking the other side of the ball off so you can do those fiddly screws, I lost the washer inside the machine, managed to get it back out with allot of shaking though
Watching this has reminded me why I switched from Dyson to a SEBO Felix as I was fed up with Dysons poor quality parts and poor durability. The SEBO I am pleased to report is 100 times better and I would not go back. What a faff to change the hose inside the machine, but your video was one of the best!! I found a very cheap Dyson online and bought it. I plan to swap out the split hose and then sell the machine. The new changeover hose is what made the user of the machine I bought ditch it and buy a new one. Only lasted them 6 years!
Just changed my hose at about 10 years old so I don’t think that is too bad. Had more problems with the cable around the "ball" to the brush motor.
I don’t find the SEBO Felix that durable. I have been regularly mending one that keeps failing. But is probably tougher than the average Dyson, especially if used in a non-domestic setting.
Follow the steps, get results. Great video, simple to follow, and saved me from having to buy a new vacuum!
Thank you for posting this video. The part cost me £8 on Amazon and with your tutorial, I have just fixed our vacuum cleaner and saved buying a new one. Many thanks mate.
Thank you VERY much! Saved me alot of money, instructions were very clear. Thanks again! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for this. Easier to follow than some others as can clearly see what you are doing at each step. I did however take both sides of the ball off which made accessing the screws on the non filter side much easier. Once again thanks.
Fantastic video! Easy to follow, I was able to replace my hose with no problems or curse words. Thank you!
Great video, saved some $$$$. Trick is to have a T8 and a T15 star screw head.
Hi there, apologies I am commenting again but wanted to say a big THANK YOU for your excellent video!! I just completed replacing hose on a DC40 ERP and followed this video and I only paid £10 for this machine and £5 for the hose. Works just fine now. I can sell the machine and make some extra cash ;)
Thankyou this helped me so much a struggle single lady trying and actually following this I succeeded many thanks
Thank for a easy, step by step video! Got it fixed with no issues
Just what I needed! Thanks!!
Thanks for this. It was really helpful.
Great video!
Very informative video. Just followed the steps and got my DC 40 fixed. Thank you!!
Great job thanks for sharing with us really appreciated your effort
Great video and thank you for taking the time to show the reassembly
Great video! I repair my Dyson without any problem! Compliments and grettings from Italy!
Awesome - thanks a lot for the video. Now fixed my broken Dyson!!
- Nice clear video - after working from both ends to remove any blockages this part turned out to be the culprit - so now have a 'good as new' cleaner for £9. 😃
Awesome instructions. Thank you!
Thank you - clear and easy to follow. Fitted a new filter as well, and the Dyson is good as new 🙂
I did it! It's working literally like new. Fantastic. I was going to buy a new machine but not necessary. Thanks *Foxtons*
Thank you! It worked
Really helpful....
Thank you for posting that. Just the help I needed.👍
Perfect! Amazing "how to" thank you!
Great video. Changed the pipe following this with no issues. Thank you.
Thanks for this! The part isn't available on the Dyson website so found this UA-cam video while looking for the part and got the added bonus of you showing me which screws needed to come out. The ebay link for the US is sold out but a quick google for the part # allowed me to order from Amazon so it's still fairly easy to get. Had to re-vacuum all my carpets; mine was worn exactly like in the video.
great stuff, thank you so much ))
This is a great video. Thanks!
Glorious. Many thanks
Great instructions, very easy to follow, thank you.
Thanks mate just done my own easy following your guide video 👍👍
Great video. Really useful with clear and easy steps.
Very clear. This was an amazing fix.
Thank you for this. Very helpful
Thank you very much. Works a treat again.
I have just replaced our brocken hose using your step by step video. It now works brilliantly . Thankyou very much
I called the Dyson service phone number today and was told that this part is not available for purchase by an owner of a Dyson vacuum. It can only be repaired at a Dyson Service Center.
Could You list the specific tools and bits needed? Much appreciated!
Hi Pal, Sorry for the late reply. To be honest I forgot what I had used and I think I took screwdrivers from two tool sets. I think all you need is a Torx 8 and 15. I have added a link to the video description.
Hey mate ive the same problem on mine now, i think im going to attempt fixing it myself but id like to know what screw drivers id need please ?

Hello what screwdriver did you use?
What about the other internal hose? If one has failed the other is the same age and will also fail if it hasn’t already. DC65
Thanks for the tutorial. I was able to change mine in less than 5 minutes.
