  • Carts and King are back in studio for a nice return to pace to kick off this week's show. Lean into the silver linings that seem to surround the Minnesota Wild; injuries aside Kirill hits 40 and 41, trade deadline results, and more. Jake Lucchini sits in to talk about his time at Michigan Tech, how he longs for his college hairstyle, going buckets off for his rookie lap and more. Like a Premier League soccer player before the ball arrives, you know what to do...press play, because a new Wild on 7th is here!
    Lucchini interviews begins at 36:49

Yeah I like how they don't dog on the wild like almost every other show does. I watch every episode for the positive vibes. 💯 nailed it

I figured it was for those firefighters / wildfire fighters... The name "Smoke Eaters" was adopted for the 1928-29 season. A Vancouver Province columnist called the Trail team "smoke-eaters" after an irate fan threw a pipe on the ice during the 1928 final against the Vancouver Monarchs. Trail's Carroll Kendall picked up the pipe and smoked it while killing a penalty.

All the injuries were brutal this year, but it's been absolutely awesome to see guys like Lucchini, Lettieri, Mermis and Chisholm finally get the opportunity to play real minutes in the show. Hope these guys can build on this season and stick around in the NHL full time with the Wild or another club in the future. Tough losing Dewy 1 & 2, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Lettieri and Lucchini getting their look on the 4th line.

The Wild are NOT a playoff caliber team. They have only won three games against playoff teams since the all star break. They would be embarrassed, again, in the playoffs.
Every team has injuries, it’s no excuse.

With all the injuries and 14.7m less cap than every team and barely missing out. If healthy they are a playoff team next Year. They will contend in 25-26 when cap penalties end

    Another season missing the playoffs.
When u guys gonna fix that? Unless the goal is to suck, cause then u guys are killing it! Not close enough for a top pick, but not even near to a playoff spot. Whos fault is it this year? Hahaha
