- Confronted by Castillo afterwards, Menton threatened to call Washington to have his arrest quashed, but Castillo reminded him that he was now in America, not Southeast Asia, and that he was going to jail for his association with Li.
Lt. Castillo must bring down his old enemy, who has passed his organization to his grandsons. They have kidnapped Castillo's long-lost wife to ensure their escape from prosecution.
From Season 1 Episode 14 "Golden Triangle (Part II)": Castillo must protect his former wife from his adversary Lao Li, who has arrived in Miami to continue his drug operations.

This apartment is located on Brickell ave in a very rich area since it looks over the coast and it was actually for sale last year at a *modest* 8.7 million dollars lol. I LOVE the vaporwave aesthetic of this place. From the lights, the glass cube block walls, the greek statues, and even the black furniture to contrast the bright colors. This scene set the standard for it. So many great setups I've seen over the years since discovering this style 12 years ago (I just lve how the 80's is still popular for some people). Someday when I have my own place I AM going to replicate this look. I already have some of the neon lights and there's a place around the corner from my job that actually sells various Greek cement statues (Full scale, half-scale, miniatures, heads/busts only, etc...). My home will be an 80's time capsule and I don't give AF what people think.

@@SIKE01 Crime Story had so many actors who had been in Miami Vice, I expected Crockett and Tubbs to walk in. Even Izzy was in a few episodes of Crime Story.
The scene was smooth, even the apartment is cool, shiny.

Bro, "Vaporwave" look it up. It's been around for over 12 years and there are millions of pictures of people's pads they've decked out in this aesthetic. As well millions more pictures of digital art that people make with this style. This apartment is literally the foundation of the Vaporwave aesthetic.

While discussing the Lao Li case over dinner, Castillo mentions putting Crockett and Tubbs back on the Al Lombard investigation if they don't find any evidence against Li soon, indicating the department is still after the mobster. Lombard would be mentioned in passing again in "Nobody Lives Forever", before the Vice team's investigation into him finally reaches its conclusion in the season finale, "Lombard".
Joan Chen was the hot Asian of the 80s. To see her here brings out the primal forces in me. But alas that's a 35 year flashback. 😕
