    Good job Houston!!! But what about carrots, we all know u love carrots. Also Daniel, great shout to FFA, being involved in FFA got me a full ride scholarship to a top veterinary university. It not only teaches you about animal husbandry and food crops, it also teaches you about business; sales/marketing AND public speaking and leadership. I highly recommend it And 4H to all children who live in farm and rural settings. Fun fact FFA & 4H and Boy and Girl Scouts only 4 youth programs recognized and endorsed by Congress, with it’s Top Achievers Awarded in Washington D.C congressional floor each year!!!! I can say would not have achieved all that I have achieved in life without the education FFA & Boy Scouts provided.

    Daniel
    From the looks of your soil pans and the size blocks you block maker makes, it looks like if you butt the maker against one side snug, that the extra space left over could be filled with another row of blocks simply by turning the block maker sideways to the already created rows. It looks like you could fit another 10 blocks along the side. For the last two only pack in two of the blocks and slide the empty ones over the last two already existing blocks, and BAM!!!

  • @johncriswell1106
    @johncriswell1106 4 роки тому

    Daniel you could create twice as many rows with just two more "hippers" - discs... The tractor wheel paths would be the same but you would have two raised beds between each one rather than only a single bed. You may not feel you need to produce that many vegetables but you could share/barter them with someone else for what you are not growing. Plus preserve for winter use. Where will you be growing your Corn, Beans, potatoes, tomatoes? Would like to see a layout (plan drawing) of the garden and your desired yield.

It looks like it would pull the dirt up around both sides W/O harming the potato plants. You would have to take the one part off. Maybe by the time the plants get tall enough If the rain don't beat down the dirt, you wouldn't have to pull the dirt up around the plants, not much anyway.

    Love your Garden and the Tractor be Setup. Can't wait to see planted and growing. Houston was cute trying to say Varieties lol. He is a piece of work. I mean this in a good way. He's willing to do the work to enter this contest. I Love Watermelon in also. But don't have the room to grow. But have a place that grows all natural that grows very good Watermelon. Always like to support local farmers also. Going to check out Flashlights and place order also. Stay Safe God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️

    good luck with your water melons Houston! I love watermelon its my favorite snack anytime.I guess thats why I love summer so much.I have tried too grow them up here in the mountains but they never get very big ,they get huge down over the Blue Ridge in NC..I live about 50 miles North of the state line about 8 miles south of the WVa. /Va.line and we have perfect weather for growing pumpkins, I love squash ,but melons need more sunshine I guess that we get down in these creek bottoms I could grow them up on the mountain side and just drive stakes in the ground too hold them in place ,but if one ever broke looose it might roll off the mountain and kill some body or kill a Bear.

    "You can grow as much corn on a straight row as you can a crooked one " Jerry Clower. If you follow contour you can trap water in swales and release it if needed. Permaculture principles don't work for everyone in every situation but it is worth a look.

    I have good luck with peas and beans in the shadiest areas of my garden. They like it cooler. I'm in NY. Might be different for you. Good luck to Houston growing his watermelons.
