@@tdkyt46 there is no way on earth a billet e-shaft cost anywhere near 15k to produce, there is a healthy profit margin on (currently available) billet rotary parts. Rob Dahm may not have all the answers, but he has the potential to influence the market in a positive direction (from the perspective of enthusiasts)
@@CouchBuilt which has absolutely nothing to do with how much it actually costs to produce. You can get an entire billet K24 engine block for $6500 which is easily 10X the amount of material. Current mfg's of rotary billet parts have a monopoly, and that is what their prices reflect. What incentive do they have to lower prices, if there is no competition?
150k for a daily driver rx7 supercar is well worth it if that is your favorite car. You can do a 2 rotor turbo rx7 with more power for cheaper but you would only trailer that thing to places without bumps or potholes, plus the noises are less cool.
I spent 1/3 of my rebuild budget for my FC on A/C and cooling system, so I can brag to people how my car is completely stock and slow, but it has cold AC 😂
Since you asked......so many compromises were made for it to be a "street" car, I definitely would have gone with a intake plenum/ throttle body instead of slide throttles.
Perfect way to build a street 4 rotor I'd say. Although I'd probably add in a little more exhaust. From what i can tell, it's pretty loud. Is it uncomfortably loud on longer trips?
Very thankful i saw this one in person, i really took it all in. Even more thankful for my stock 94 Chaste White FD PEP that i wont be putting that kind of money into haha. 🤙🏻
Yes indeed you are right the idiot in these videos doesn't seen to even realize what hes saying half the time, I said the same thing unsubbed better off watching a real one like RED BULL MAD MIKE
The question then becomes, which one makes the iconic... vop vop vop vop vop sound that the 787B produced at LeMans??? Which ever one makes that noise, it was worth every penny!!!
@@RADPotential That would be so sick. Also could you do an Rx8 Turbo Video, what you need and the build process. I have a Rx8 and I would love to turbo it. So it have a bit more power.
When you see yellow car final tuned and ripping in an up coming video, I can outline the details once I have done it, and it's reliable. I'm learning turbo rx8 just as you are
@@RADPotential Keep up your videos! It's so cool seeing what you are doing. I own an Rx8 and a Corolla. I am so tempted to just sell the TOASTER the Corolla (that car is just an appliance) Daily drive the Rx8 that car is 6 speed and its so much fun.
Doesn't need to worry about emissions as it's completely stock standard no porting or anything like the 787b engine, this guy is an idiot just saying this crap, he bolts 4 standard rotor housings together and calls it a 787b engine, such a waste of good parts poor Johny I say.
For me, emissions are a must. Not because it's regulated locally (which it isn't). Only because I cant stand smelling like an oil refinery when I drive my car. To each their own.
Add another 50 bucks for a wash and wax because your your dirty hands are touching the beautiful white paint and shinny interior lol. Beautiful build though congrats to both of y'all.
Please show us the late trailing spark plugs on your "787B engine". Formula 1 cars used to have turbo 4 cylinder engines. My car has a turbo 4 cylinder engine. Therefore my car has an F1 engine. Not.
15k for the crank alone jesus
Rob Dahm needs to save us from these prices
Rob dahm cant save you from billet and machining costs at extremely low turnouts

A 26B billet e-shaft with counterweights is $4,500USD from Billet Rotary Store 🤷🏻♂️

Haven't even started the video and my credit card is already maxed out

Or you could still do the mods which make it streetable and still be way under the budget of this...
The black FD has like 25k under the hood and it's going to be basically the same performance, but it won't sound like a 4 rotor lol
With rotaries, you never, ever add it up. You cant measure the joy of rotaries in $$$. It is more than that. I literally think of rotas every day.
Such an awesome build! Gorgeous work, cannot wait to see you start building your fd

Easily my favorite build i've ever seen on all of social media, it must be truly a dream car to own and drive

With the extra muffler it sounds awesome. Honestly a perfect volume in the car. It's still outside the car for sure!

Sent you a couple messages lil while back... you have some part's for my 10thAE you may not remember me... but this FD is SOO sick 1:53
I have thought about getting a rx8 and a mx5 engine and trubo charge in in the rx8
I wouldn’t change a thing on that car!
The car in the thumbnail is a 767.

How far along is the hybrid renesis?
Rotors are coming back from mazdatrix as we speak!
@RADPotential YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Finally dude, I'm waiting on you to show results so I can pull the trigger myself
I can’t believe how much that motor looks like it’s supposed to be in there
Wheres the variable inlet trumpet lol
All the things you suggested would be what I would change also. It is a really good car though.
Can we please get an update on the yellow RX8? I will continue to post this on every new video… 😂
5:07 You're welcome
I can confirm that we enjoy driving the car.
Make a 4 Rotor Rx8 :)
What about hybrid turbo street car.

Cold start video when 😭😭😭
street cars need to be comfortable! Swaps in one of the angriest race motors of all time lol
Defined Autoworks does great work!
If that's what you want, that's what you have to pay.😊
FN'A that thing is... RAAAAD! lol
Maybe I'll just stick with an ls swap❤

I change the name on the title 😂

Opps 🤦♂️
You don’t have to do emissions there or do you just gotta “know a guy”
No emissions at all

Lol we have a detail guy! It's going to spend some time there for sure. Thank you!

Que vídeo satisfatório. #ACF
click bait. the only thing it shares is 4 rotors
I knew full well he meant a 4 rotor and not the actual engine from a 787b

One look at the intake would tell you it's not a 787 motor.... dumn, the lot of ya
