I think one made on a train track that goes in a circle would work. The cars could generate electricity by gearing to the wheels, so no central axle. Just moving sails. Cool turbine.
Wow. That's a heavy thing. One way to do something that size is to use two regular propellers spinning against each other and turn them in to Wimshurst generator. Takes a lot less materials and you only need to step down the HV. It's easy with two layden jars that have thick adjustable coil inside. MrTeslonian has a good video about HV step down transformer.
I kind of explained how I did in the video. I'm operating on a sense of what will work from experiencing how other ones I made work. Keeping in mind that I want it to be simple and practical to build.
Are you in MN? I have several ideas for patents but I have no welding or fabrication tools or experience. I am wondering if a collaboration would interest you with shared patent agreement. You do fascinating and great videos. I have been following for some years now. It will be interesting to see how this pans out, and you are absolutely right a large VAWT would require safety considerations.
I'm not into patents, so no thanks. Don't have the resources for that; that's why I freely share my discoveries and inventions on here. Maybe they will benefit and inspire others.
@@doubleMinnovations Sorry I did not mean to offend. I am not greedy by any means. The ideas I have in mind may never see the light of day. I have health problems, and a number of challenges, it is unlikely a workshop or the means necessary to test them out are in my future.
No offense at all. I think it's extremely difficult for an inventor to prosper off an invention. Many died broke with their ideas with them. So I think other ways need to be found.
Happy to see continued interest in wind as an exploitable resource !
Wow the wind is gentle it can rotate it is amazing I will imitate to make a wind generator thank you for sharing
Nice project. Throw a nema 34 stepper motor on there. You can produce decent power at lower rpms.

I've heard something about the idea before too. Thanks for commenting!
Another amazing video! thank you for sharing!!
Thank you too!
lots of torque.. and it looks quite beautiful in my opinion
Thanks for the comment!

MrTeslonian does some interesting things. Sounds a little more complicated than what I would want to get into for a big wind turbine.
WELL DONE! Will keep up on your improvements! Thanks!!! m
Thanks for watching!
That is really cool!
Thanks!
use sail cloth in a sail frame, steel is fine but harder to make big and more expensive
Wings that spread when going up and thins when going down against wind but making a duct blowing wind other side, vertical
Not vertical horisontal
Spinning thing rises up when Spinning fast
Nice design how did you figure the layout and spacing on the rim for the extensions?

is this in Montana?
Northern, west central MN
Isn't it turning backwards? Cheers.
Could be. I'm right-handed, but I was using left-handed tools...🤔
@@doubleMinnovations Your funny. Cheers.
