I used it under my twisting gel and gurl the definition and softness was another level. I did have flakes from the melenin hair care but that was day 4 I’m lo porosity so I didn’t mind. Most gels make the hair hard (for hold). Make sure you use a moisturizing leave in under and when your hair is dry just scrunch your hair to get the crunchiness out
