In Judo and BJJ, the footwork of the throw is completed 5-10 times with opponent. This repetition builds muscle memory. Then the full throw is completed and practiced. Then they move into full on competitive practice. The key being repetition of core movements and building the complexity of the skill.
I love this session for just that reason. Break the skill down, then build it up. All with high participation from both players.
. Too much old school rubbish out on the training fields.

Footwork in the tackle is so underrated. I like the wrestling turn the corner technique

I play for both my university and club teams, and after watching this video, I've decided to incorporate some of the warm-up exercises that we currently don't do. Thanks to your advice, I'll be including them in my routine from now on.@@TheRugbyTrainerTV

    Nice one.
We have difficulties convincing our players (U14) that you end up on the floor after a tackle.
    Always.

Haha ye very true. Very important to practise finishing the tackles off time to time. They let go before tackle is complete?

      @@TheRugbyTrainerTV yes. All the time.
I vaguely remember using "grab" tackles when we were running plays or preparing for a match.
That seems to be how the boys tackle.
Really hard to get them to break that habit.
