Also yes please don't reduce the price of items mid-market!! i feel that sometimes, I will always have some items that may not sell at one market (or for several 😅) keep it at that price for the whole market and then decide if it is worth it to lower the price at the next market! Some items i was very stubborn on and did not reduce the price at all and I still have them since my first market! but I'm okay with that because if its an item i was proud of making/i like how it looks then I like keeping those/showcasing those on my market table! It gives the customers an idea of what I am able to make, and if you lower the price too much it might bite you in the bum later if a customer messages/commissions you after the market asking you to make that item for the same price you had it at the market (for me its hard to say no as i may potentially lose out on a customer)
I know now.. I think 😅 I lowkey did the same thing a little bit at the first market sjaosklfla I'm weak in the moment but I'll do my best!! Thank you for always encouraging me 🫡✨️
I love how helpful most crocheters are. There is so much drama within the TT community sometimes on pricing and what-not and it's great to see a supportive community here.
Just a suggestion for if you run in to having a small space/table again. Get a few flat topped wicker garbage pails and flip them upside down to put your tiered baskets on or get some plastic 5 gallon buckets and flip them upside down and cover with a cloth then put your tiered baskets on those. Then you save table space but it elevates your baskets of flowers to closer to table level. You have a lovely display!
Your prices seem reasonable. I just started to crochet but the time for 1 scrunchie is 1 hour. I can’t imagine a cactus taking less than that, even for an experienced crocheter.
Hello! I make crochet flowers too and have been looking into attending my first market. Your video was so uplifting and helpful for a first timer like me. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Beautiful items, so much work. I hope the market table was not too expensive. Crowds are fickle! Definitely save items for next event, and make easy items for your giveaways! Thank you for sharing your experience and insights!
I'm so glad you ended up on my homepage! Hidden gem. Just watched all of your videos and I can't wait to see the future of your business and your channel. Also your booth setup is already so so pretty and professional. I know you were too busy at your first show, but were you able to make some friends at this one?
Thank you so much!! I watch your videos all the time so this comment means a lot to me 😭💖 I did make some friends and we ended up talking more later on IG instead of in person since the last market was busy too hahaha
Your booth was very nice looking. I enjoyed the knowledge you shared. I too am a crocheter ( is that even a word?) I either keep or give away things I make, but lately I have been thinking about maybe selling. You have given me some ideas and I thank you. Good luck on your next show.
Just a suggestion my dolly has 3 wheels on a triangle type of thing that makes it a breeze to go up stairs without a struggle. Or a wheeled grocery carrier. I used that first and works great. Amazon has a variety of both on their site.
I personally LOVE the cactus....however I would be more compelled to purchase them much smaller. Try making some mini Terra Cotta pots in the very small pots with the cactus. I have also seen them made with fun fur over the original yarn to provide more color concepts. Good luck!!!💕
thank you so much for your insight! I am planning on doing my first market this year, and this made me feel a bit better of what to expect and plan for
Loved this video, it's very well made and aesthetic! Your creations are so cute! I'm a beginner crocheter, and am planning to go to my first market in the future, and I've just been wondering about pricing and what is good to make for them! I have no idea how to price things since I'm new to crocheting!
This was definitely hard for me too, what I currently do is time how long it takes for me to make something, and then multiply it by the hourly rate I decide for myself. For example, if I want to pay myself $20/h and it takes me 30 minutes to make something: 0.5h x ($20/h) = $10 for this item Then, I'll add the cost of materials, packaging, and a bit of extra cost to cover things you wouldn't charge for like business cards, market fees, etc. Usually I settle for $2-5 for smaller items. That brings the total for anywhere between $12 to $15, and probably try to stay at a lower cost the first time around to encourage sales and slowly increase as you feel out the demand vs your ability to supply!
Found your channel the other day, your flowers are pretty (and April is soooo cute!) Market prepping today so I might as well binge a few of your videos lol.
That's so exciting!! Good luck!! Definitely try to set it up at home first so you can fiddle around with it and figure out what you like! It's good to sort your items into different sections or storage containers to make it easier for customers to process everything you have! Watch lots of different peoples market videos or check out pinterest for different market set ups for some inspo!! Good luck!
Such a excellent video...your talent is amazing. Where did you purchase your 4ft adjustable table? Never decrease your pricing....people will begin to expect that. The bouquet making at the table...isn't practical IMO
Thank you so much! My boyfriend already owned it so I didn't have to buy it but I think he got it at Costco, I know they also have them at home depot! It's definitely more difficult logistically and I'll need a bit of space on the table in order to do it, I'll have to test it out to see how practical it really is or maybe bring it to a slower market to test it out!
My coworker and I want to do a market, we've been thinking about it for a while now. I want to start my own crochet business, so if I do one I would be showcasing what I would be selling on my website. This seems like such an interesting experience, and I hope I can do something like this in the future
Your letter swag is so cute. Maybe you could sell letters, or swags. I love the flowers, and especially the hanging ones and succulents. I love hens and chicks succulents. I would have bought something.
Regarding your inability to use your dolly to help you get your stock from the car up the stairs....they make specialty Dolly's or hand truck carts that roll perfectly up stairs. They make all the difference. Check it out!🥰
Love your creations and the way you display your products. I have a small business also and I've been looking for new ways to diplay my products. I saw that display, where you placed the hanging pots, would be perfect for my dreamcatchers. How do I find that display?
Always good to have some low price items pity u did not try a setup at home ! You have so much stuff it’s hard to see some put some away and replenish as needed Your stuff is unique and you do a lovely job but might not appeal to everyone don’t get discouraged !
Some markets will limit the # of vendors in different categories, like jewelry, crochet/knit crafts, prints/stickers, etc. It just depends on the type of market!
And sometimes that happens!! But don't let it get to you, I've had markets where I bring the exact same things and sometimes I sell a lot and sometimes I barely sell anything - it just depends on the demographic and sometimes just completely random!! Don't worry about it too much and try to have fun and learn a little for the next one!
Just a suggestion please go slower when you do the walk through or post stills. I got very motion sick during that segment. I loved everything on your video. I didn't want to be negative but this may help viewers to stay on rather than click off. I really wanted to see what you're booth looked like and your info so i fast forwarded and stuck it out. I'm so glad! It's hard because most crocheters undervalue their work so we try to hype each other up. What is the TT community?

I totally got there early and stayed late after it ended to do my own shopping hahaha
