      That is an excellent idea!!! And would definitely be helpful as I am constantly shuffling through canvases on my drafting table. It has become a place to store WIPs instead of a workspace and I’d like to reclaim it for its intended purpose. I am going to look into that, thanks for sharing!

      Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. And yes, I have tons and tons of storage. Too much! I did mange to finish 3 large ones…. And got a good deal further with many others. But I also realized there were a few that I just hated and this project gave me the push I needed to just admit defeat and abandon them for good. It's taken me a handful of days to finish watching this video because I wanted to pay attention while watching. I often DP while watching videos but not with this. I really enjoyed this video. It was a fantastic idea for a video and OMG there are so many. But you did sum it up perfectly at the end by saying their yours, you paid for them so you can do what you want with them. As long as they eventually get finished & if they bring you so much joy then what the heck. I have 3 DP's on the go but 2 are little guys. Usually I only do one at a time. But it takes willpower not to begin an new one,I get it. I am currently waiting for my second DIYmoonshop DP to arrive so hope it's the new canvas. That'd be cool. I think it should be going by when I ordered it. I gotta say I absolutely 💗 that DP you bought at the retreat from DP w Sparklers' w the colour blocked hair. I just love it. I h noave already emailed the company to try and buy it so hopefully that will make it happen..

I worked on Colorful Lady for a couple of hours last night, and holy 310!!! There is so much black! But it is so striking against all the rhinestones and bright colors….I’m anxious to share my progress on that one. What did you order from DIYMoonshop? @@AngietheCraftnado I have bought 'Joy' by Lelani Joy, which is so my style but haven't started because I am still waiting for the special treatment for that kit to arrive. I bought the ST after I received the DP because I decided I really wanted to do it w those drills to jazz it up. That's the old style canvas. Also my very first DIYmoonshop. I am now waiting on 'Love Spell' by Lioba Bruckner. It should have arrived already buto I received an email from the company saying there was a printing error on a bunch of canvases including mine that wasn't up to standard so they needed to be re-printed. They gave me a 15% discount on my next order. I was ok with this because these things happen it's not like I don't have any other DP's to do to keep me busy hahaha. This should be in the new style I hope. It will be squares too. 'Joy' is in rounds so be good to do one of each. So technically I haven't yet had the chance to do a DIYmoonshop canvas just yet. The special treatment will be sent out w the second canvas so had to wait a while for them but again that's fine. As long as I get them it's all good.

    Wow! That's a lot of WIPs for sure. How do you get to do comfortably the middle of a large diamond painting that's around 70 x 92 cm, please?

    • @AngietheCraftnado
      @AngietheCraftnado  3 роки тому

      Well, the short answer to that is… I don’t. Not comfortably. I absolutely hate doing middles. That’s possibly why I have so many incomplete diamond paintings. Lol. But when I do get to those areas, I usually let the completed portion hang off the edge of the table in front of me. It will appear to “crease” or bend the canvas while you’re working on it, but it will go right back into shape after you return it to a flat position. I also have recently found that if I put release papers under my arms while I am leaning on the already drilled areas that it helps to keep already placed drills from coming up on my arms.

    I loved this video!! How on earth do you finish so many diamond paintings?? Secondly, where on earth do you keep 30 storage container systems?? You are definitely a "BOSS"!! I'm recently subscribed and I look forward to watching more of your videos! Any advice on working so fast (and I do multi place, but usually with a four placer, but I think I might be ready to go to a 6... What do you think??)? Thanks so much 😊

    • @AngietheCraftnado
      @AngietheCraftnado  3 роки тому

      Welcome! I’m so happy to have you here! I am lucky enough to have a craft room, so I keep half of my storage containers labeled and piled in there and the other half on the table next to my recliner in the living room where I have a little workstation set up. It’s getting overwhelming hence taking this month to “catch up”. I decided to do a little update at the end of the month and show what I actually got done and I’m going to show all my storage as well. There’s a lot. Lol. I don’t know that I’m a particularly fast diamond painter, but I do have a lot of time every day to devote to it. As far as multiplacers go, I have to say that I am most comfortable with the 4 placer myself. Any bigger and it seems like the drills get too “bunched up” and don’t go evenly into the spaces on the canvas. If I have a TON of color blocking (like Nightbringer from Diamond Art Club), I will use a 7 placer. I would say give a 7 a try. 6 placers are generally the wider clearer plastic type and I don’t have as much luck with them. 7 placers are the whiter plastic and are thin like a 4 placer. One thing I that I do that may speed me up (though I’m not sure) is that I use my multiplacer end to place all my drills, 1 - 4. So I’m not spending time flipping my pen back and forth though I’m not really sure how much time that actually saves….😬

  • @dianalovescolors
    @dianalovescolors 3 роки тому

    I did enjoy that. What system do you use for keeping all the drills straight? I only have one wip, Craftibly "Coastal Flight" going right now. I love Coastal Flight! How is it going? That one is on my wishlist currently. I have a variety of storage…. Harbor Freights, Craftmates Lockables, and those 56 grid squares primarily. @@AngietheCraftnado ok I got it because I loved the image (I live on the coast of Massachusetts) and it's a pretty large canvas 20" x 24" and it's round drills because I haven't really mastered squares.. So I did the whole top of the painting about 6" down, the clouds are grey and green which looks kind of weird to me. Also believe it or not I am having a hard time keeping the drills straight and it's because they don't seem to be uniform in size from color to color and there's like 60 of them. But I refuse to give up on doing it. Honestly I would say not to buy it. And I'm a bit nervous because I bought another one that Mindy unboxed with a Lighthouse and when she did the video on that one, she thought it was very strange that the clouds had green ABS in them and she was going to check on it. I really love this company but perhaps this painting's rendering? (is that what it's called?) is not that good. I've never had a round painting that I couldn't get the drills to line up so it's making it a little less enjoyable than I thought it would be but I'll keep at it. 🤷‍♀️

    • @AngietheCraftnado
      @AngietheCraftnado  3 роки тому +1

      @@dianalovescolors Weird! It definitely doesn’t sound right. I saw Mindys unboxing on that one with the green ABs in the clouds too and wondered how that ended up. Have you thought about contacting them? I don’t think it would hurt. I have never had that problem from them, but then I haven’t actually worked on a round kit from the new version releases yet. I’ve started Frogs and Kisses, but that’s a square and things are lining up properly and the colors seem normal. Maybe the renderings or charting are off in some way…… i think maybe I’d send them a picture and see what they say. They are usually very good with customer service. That sucks that you aren’t thrilled with it. Now I’m nervous. I might go take a closer look at my round kits and see if i notice anything off, but its hard to tell about drill sizes and spacing until you actual start laying down drills isn’t it?

    • @dianalovescolors
      @dianalovescolors 3 роки тому

      @@AngietheCraftnado I know I could write to them and explain what's happening with this. I think I know what they were going for in the picture with the cloud colors. I think the sun is setting over the water and casting a reflection back up into the clouds. But I think the picture would have looked better with the reflections having some pink, red, or orange hues cast onto the clouds. Not Grey and green. I'm going to have to hang it up on the wall and step back to see how it looks. That whole part at the top is finished. Still I'm having issues the issues with the drills though. 😳 I recently learned to multi-place using a 4 placer (I had always been a one drill at a time girl) so I thought it was me that they are crooked but I just finished a very large painting from DAC doing it and I had no issues with crooked lines of drills. Even straightening them after with the straighten placer isn't helping that much. I know Craftibly is a really good company with wonderful people that own it and work there. I could write to them and tell them the issues but I don't think there's anything they could do about it. When they produce one of these paintings does someone from their factory actually sit down and kit up and do the diamond painting to see how it looks? I have no clue about the manufacturing side of how the company works. I know in one of your videos you talked about going on a road trip there to help ship out orders recently. We're you able to see how the images were made in the factory? Or is that done somewhere else? It would be so interesting to see all of that wouldn't it? Well anyway thank you for your suggestions and feedback I really appreciate it. I'll keep you posted. I also have two kits (one is that lighthouse by the same artist I think). They are both round so I'm going to unbox them today and check them out. I think I might take a break and work on a couple of specials today in my stash for #smashing the specials. I'm not on Instagram or Facebook but Mindy was kind enough to let us email her pictures for a couple of us that don't use those social medias. Thanks again hon.

      @@dianalovescolors I completely understand where you’re coming from. I too have a couple of diamond paintings where I question the color choices in certain areas. My favorite is actually Sweet Life by Chuck Pinson. I have it in my living room and I love the painting. But I hate the deep purple that’s in the sky. I think that the hue is just a little off considering the feel of the rest of the piece. Yes, I did go down to Craftibly and help out with the large pre-order delivery. It was very interesting. The kits are not actually manufactured in the US, they come from China. From what I was told, there are not any factories in the US that manufacture diamond paintings. There is one in Canada, the Purple Razzberry. I do know that Craftibly images are hand charted, just like DAC’s are, rather than computer charted like most other diamond paintings. I think that sometimes that’s a good thing, but sometimes I think it leaves too much of the art up to interpretation. Like with Sweet Life. And no, they don’t work up any of the kits before they send them out, but I think that would be a great idea if they did. I hope that it all works out for you in the end. Yes, keep me posted….I’d like to hear how it all turns out. No you go smash those specials!!!! It’s killing me to see everyone’s projects! I made this stupid no start rule for August so all of those special drill kits that I had been saving up for this event are sitting in the drawer 🥲. Mindy is awesome, isn’t she? I love her! I wish I had more self control (and less storage)! 🤣🤣

    I can only do one at a time that would drive me crazy with that many not done I would be losing my drills to them....but September 1 I'll have two going for the first time...both rounds.

      Keeping all of my storage straight is definitely becoming an issue. I’d say I am at the absolute maximum that I can reasonably handle. Luckily, I have been working hard and will have a few finished by the end of the month.

    What do you use to seal the diamond paintings?

    • @AngietheCraftnado

      I am so sorry that I somehow missed your comment. I have tried a few things to seal and the one I like the most is Tombow Aqua Glue. I also like Krylon Triple Thick Glaze because it comes in an aerosol spray and it easy to use and doesn’t stiffen your canvas or take away the sparkle. I don’t like Mod Podge. It takes away the sparkle in my opinion. Hope that helps., And sorry again for the late response.

    Oh dear Angie that's a lot of wips. It lookslike you love to start them but not finish. I don't like full crystal paintings either xx

    You have great taste! Personally, I have about 3 diamond painting WIPS, but don’t ask me about my cross stitch and beading WIPS! 😩 🌺🌺🇨🇦

      Thank you! And yeah, after I posted this video I thought to myself “what about all of your WIPs of other projects (miniatures, crochet, cross stitch, punch needle….)”? 😬 But I do love switching things up all day every day.

      I’m having so much fun working on something different every day. I am finding though that there are some that I moved away from for a reason…. A few may end up as abandoned projects and I don’t do that easily.

    Why do you start so many?

    • @AngietheCraftnado
      @AngietheCraftnado  3 роки тому

      I don’t know! I ask myself that question all the time! Sometimes it’s because I get a new one and I can’t resist. Sometimes it’s for an event. Sometimes it’s because I received something from a company I haven’t worked with yet and I want to be able to give a review on what it’s like to actually work on the painting rather than just unbox it. The real reason would probably take a whole lot of therapy to get to the bottom of! Lol.

    Surprised you stopped working on so many that were almost finished..

    • @AngietheCraftnado
      @AngietheCraftnado  3 роки тому

      I know!!! What happens is that when I get to the middles, I can no longer reach to work on them from my lap desk in my recliner and have to move to the table in my craft room and that just isn’t as comfortable so they get ignored. But I am loving giving a different one some love every day and will definitely have at least a few finished by the end of the month.
