Was stationed at andrews barracks the old prussan military achademy in the 80s
Nice one. I find the difference between miniature wargaming campaigns snd kriegsspiel blurred.
Both could Enhancer each other. Maybe...
So you roll the dice to see what happens to a unit regardless of what is attacking it? Like if you had 1 unit attacking 4, would those 4 roll for each unit to be potentially hit or disrupted?
More or less, yes. Each die represents incoming fire from hostile units, over a period of time.
The one unit would only roll 1 die.
Are there any modifications made for cicumstances like high ground or defensive earthworks in the dice rolls or is that up to the umpire's discretion entirely?
@@The1JHorton The dice are "offensive," thrown by the attacker. For an attacker in an advantage situation, there is a symbol (a star) that represents a hit, when the attacker has an advantage. To simulate defender advantage, the umpire applies a DRM of -1 or -2, and rotates the die that many steps. And to be clear, this is one system of play. I will be making a video to discuss some systems of play for our Patreon supporters this week. There are a few systems we use, depending on the circumstances
.
@@IKS_kriegsspiel thanks for explanation. Very helpful and interesting.
Are these rules downloadable by any chance? We've been playing a version of krirgspiel here using abstracted Black Powder rules, but I really like this system.
It depends on what you want. But yes. The original rules are available from Too Fat Lardies. But we find them almost unplayable. I wrote the K22 System, which you can buy. Patreon subscribers get them for supporting us on there. You can learn the game for free from our Discord community by assisting as an umpire. They teach everything. The videos provide schooling, but it’s hit and miss.
@@IKS_kriegsspiel thank, I'll head to your patreon and pick up the rules.
I joined the discord and played a few red vs blue games, amazing experience! Which is why I'm building up a player base around me
What software are you using and does it run on a PC? Thx
