Here’s what they should’ve done in my opinion: Batman dies, each member of the bat family handles it differently. There are two antagonists in season 1; The Suspected Killer… and Red Hood. They go after Red Hood for going on a killing spree, but if it wasn’t for Jason’s severe methods, they would’ve had a much harder time finding the killer. Literally the last time a Batman show featured Batman in live action was in the 1960s. I know for many years there were some legal issue with live actions Batman TV shows but they have the rights now so they have no excuse. It’s clear that the CW doesn’t have any faith in what they’re producing so instead of making an actual Batman show status slap his logo onto a group of Random Nobodies. Now I don’t mind the fact that they made a new character for the show instead of Dick Grayson, I don’t even mind that they made two, but none of the key members of the bat family are in this? Not even Alfred, who has been a key part of Batman‘s universe since he was introduced? You’re telling me Batman dies and not a single Robin tries to fill the void? Imagine if we saw Jason Todd taking to the streets as a violent vigilante just opposed with Dick Grayson taking a mantle of Batman. In the world were Batman is gone it would be interesting to see two of Batman sons debating on how to handle crime now that he’s no longer there. So the reason were not seeing batfam members like Bruce and Dick is because theyre in other live action properties and dc doesnt want to confuse casual fans. A lot of people have trouble understanding that Xmen werent in Mcu because of legal things so two live action Dick Graysons arent gonna fly. This is why the suicide squad didnt get a CW show spinoff like they planned originally, because the 2016 suicide squad was coming out. Another case is Batman. They want him in movies and another batman in a live action show would confuse people, hence why batman is only camoed or referenced in nonmovie live action projects despite being in literally every DC animation. While there are other lesser known memebers like Tim Drake and Damian Wayne, their likley being in projects we dont know about and this feels really low on Warner Bros radar, hence why really underused characters like Carrie Kelly and original characters like Turner are in here.

They put Harper and Cullen in the bad guys group because their father is a criminal; parents/legacy are pretty much the theme... Steph Brown's father is Cluemaster, and Duela Dent... who knows? In the Arrowverse, Harvey Dent is her uncle so it's doubtful she's actually the Joker's daughter, but since this show is set in a different universe/Earth, they could have done anything with her. And Carrie, well in the Frank Millerverse she's the third Robin; in that universe Jason Todd is dead (which actually happened before he died in *"A Death in the Family"* ) and Dick Grayson was a disappointment. I guess in that show, Jason could be dead, and Dick could either be dealing with important stuff in Blüdhaven... guess we'll never know since it seems like it might be getting cancelled, even if the CW keeps "reassuring" us.

jokers daughter is actually an old character who's been reimagined after pretty much every crisis, usually as some kind of morally ambiguous kinda hero, even joining the teen titans at one point. also no, she's never been the jokers actual daughter, in fact she was originally meant to be two faces daughter, though i wouldn't be surprised if cw somehow managed to fuck up that fact, or even if they get it right still not make it work the way it worked in any of her other incarnations.
Moreover, the Joker's Daughter, aka Duela Dent, already exists in the *Arrowverse* ... she is the "villain of the week" of an episode of *Batwoman* 's first season. In this version, Harvey Dent is her uncle. But since "Gotham Knight" wasn't part of the Arrowverse, I guess they could have done whatever they wanted with her. Harvey Dent was only going to be in the pilote anyway, since he gets badly injured at the end of the first episode. Now that the show is cancelled, it doesn't matter.

It’s clear that the CW doesn’t have any faith in what they’re producing so instead of making an actual Batman show status slap his logo onto a group of Random Nobodies.
Now I don’t mind the fact that they made a new character for the show instead of Dick Grayson, I don’t even mind that they made two, but none of the key members of the bat family are in this? Not even Alfred, who has been a key part of Batman‘s universe since he was introduced?

Imagine if we saw Jason Todd taking to the streets as a violent vigilante just opposed with Dick Grayson taking a mantle of Batman. In the world were Batman is gone it would be interesting to see two of Batman sons debating on how to handle crime now that he’s no longer there. But apparently that kind of writing is too much to expect from the CW.
The show is called Gotham Knights and none of the actual Gotham Knights are in the trailer, probably not on the show either. At this point they just wanted to do a shitty vigilante drama TV show and slapped the Gotham name to get that Batman money.

So the reason were not seeing batfam members like Bruce and Dick is because theyre in other live action properties and dc doesnt want to confuse casual fans. A lot of people have trouble understanding that Xmen werent in Mcu because of legal things so two live action Dick Graysons arent gonna fly. This is why the suicide squad didnt get a CW show spinoff like they planned originally, because the 2016 suicide squad was coming out. Another case is Batman. They want him in movies and another batman in a live action show would confuse people, hence why batman is only camoed or referenced in nonmovie live action projects despite being in literally every DC animation. While there are other lesser known memebers like Tim Drake and Damian Wayne, their likley being in projects we dont know about and this feels really low on Warner Bros radar, hence why really underused characters like Carrie Kelly and original characters like Turner are in here.
We literally have a multiverse in the flash and the MCU and no one is getting confused. Mfs are just too lazy to write a good story

Steph Brown's father is Cluemaster, and Duela Dent... who knows? In the Arrowverse, Harvey Dent is her uncle so it's doubtful she's actually the Joker's daughter, but since this show is set in a different universe/Earth, they could have done anything with her.
And Carrie, well in the Frank Millerverse she's the third Robin; in that universe Jason Todd is dead (which actually happened before he died in *"A Death in the Family"* ) and Dick Grayson was a disappointment.
I guess in that show, Jason could be dead, and Dick could either be dealing with important stuff in Blüdhaven... guess we'll never know since it seems like it might be getting cancelled, even if the CW keeps "reassuring" us.

jokers daughter is actually an old character who's been reimagined after pretty much every crisis, usually as some kind of morally ambiguous kinda hero, even joining the teen titans at one point. also no, she's never been the jokers actual daughter, in fact she was originally meant to be two faces daughter, though i wouldn't be surprised if cw somehow managed to fuck up that fact, or even if they get it right still not make it work the way it worked in any of her other incarnations.
Moreover, the Joker's Daughter, aka Duela Dent, already exists in the *Arrowverse* ... she is the "villain of the week" of an episode of *Batwoman* 's first season. In this version, Harvey Dent is her uncle.
But since "Gotham Knight" wasn't part of the Arrowverse, I guess they could have done whatever they wanted with her.
Harvey Dent was only going to be in the pilote anyway, since he gets badly injured at the end of the first episode.
Now that the show is cancelled, it doesn't matter.
