I cannot believe this behaviour only started four years ago. If the rumours are true concerning the perpetrator, how does a man in his fifties suddenly start behaving like this? How far do the actions and the mindset that resulted in them go back, 10, 20, 30, 40 years? I am probably going to get slated for some of this..... i am a psychiatric nurse with 27 yrs experience. I DO NOT agree with what this man has done to any of his victims. However, if he did say to 1 of them that he enjoyed spending time with them.... and taking into account that it is known to have a history of depression , i find him to be very depressed just by the mere fact he is saying this to a complete stranger. Now yes the bbc have not handled this well and the police need to do their job. Charges need to be brought if there is a criminal offence committed BUT remember he has a family and he is almost certainly a risk of suicide. Despite what he may have done this would be a tragedy for his family if that happened

To compare anyone to the great, late Richard Dimbleby is impossible, especially insulting, if this mystery mr x is as grubby as people think.

No one should judge others based on who they work for.
The person that you are pre-judging could very possibly be the person who helps change the reputation of that company.
Except.... the grooming gang scandal happened. The police stood back for 2 decades and allowed brown skinned child violators to assault tens of thousands of children. An entire police force said nothing.

I do wish you wouldn't refer to the Mysterious Mr. X as the most famous ect ect Presenter on TV! I was a child at the time but i remember the most excellent Richard Dimbleby. A truely giant talent. The first front line war correspondence, putting himself in danger to get the news out, I believe he was there when the Concentration Camps were open. His coverage of the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth was superb. The first live overseas broadcast and fronting the news program Panarama with such professionalism. As we stood on the brink of a countdown to nuclear war, the Cuban Crisis, his calm reassurance at the end of Panarama saying " i feel sure we will meet again next week" (or something to that effect) He was the ultimate 'steady pair of hands'. To compare anyone to the great, late Richard Dimbleby is impossible, especially insulting, if this mystery mr x is as grubby as people think.

100% in favour of publicly funded public service broadcasting in theory but they've long proved themselves undeserving of that role.

I thought reporters just say "alleged" to cover themselves when naming individuals. Seems odd to me that there is such a problem saying his name. Anyway, I'm in Australia, found his name in about twenty minutes online and viewed his work photo and the other, odd photo that's out there. He's not very well known here but I have seen him in the past. Honestly can't understand how the law doesn't allow reporters to report allegations against powerful people that are in the public's eye. Weird.
I think it’s a case of innocent until proven guilty. His name will come out eventually as you say it’s not hard to find, it took me about 3 minutes to work out who it is and I never watch the BBC but i do know of the person. I am in the U.K. so it is easier I guess.
@@catlady6938 No problem with innocent until proven guilty but many people who are not rich and famous have their names released as suspects in crimes or "persons of interest" in a crime. Anyway, his name has finally been released thanks to his wife releasing it but seems strange it took so long.
