  • Throwing back to a collection of the footage I took in Bratislava.
Whilst the Australian Team was there preparing for the 2017 World Championships I had some fun taking some shots of them doing what they do best.

FYI, the 1st boat is a CANOE (C-1) (red bow, black stern) - single blade & t-grip. S(he) is kneeling in the boat.
2nd black boat is a KAYAK- 2 blades, paddler is sitting with legs extended.
    Great montage!

what are the pros and cons to how it feels using a one-bladed paddle (for the c1 position) vs a double bladed paddle (for splayed legs)? I have my own theories... I've been a flatwater kayaker for a few years and want to start whitewater, but I needed to get a c1 ww kayak (zet chili) so I'll be using a one-bladed paddle.

В России лодка в которой человек сидит на коленях, называется каноэ, а лодка где человек сидит вытянув ноги - каяк, я поклонник каяка

I mean one bladed is harder than double bladed, in whitewater boats compared to flatwater boats its a lot harder to keep it in a straight line, and it is harder to propell the boat, but all those things can just be fixed by practice, id say go for it! Its a different perspective, and id argue its more elegant, its definitely going to be a LOT harder to run whitewater but its definitely possible
