Put a paper side-out wrap on the idler before the crease if it’s creasing usually? And also I go look at idlers to see if some are bagging near the creases, then I may move one in or out, increase oven/Lam tension if they are good and straight straight, and maybe turn onto the pull roll servo center so the web is not being pulled one way,. I am just a noob with only like two years web-handling experience but what is your opinion?
You mention several distinct topics, each could be discussed for pages. First, making an idler roller slipperier is just one technique for 'spreading. Though it is simple, it is also the weakest. See spreading chapter for 80 other pages of discussion. Bagginess is covered in great great detail in my Web201.45a-r series. In short, you need to find and fix root cause of bagginess as you can do nothing on your or any web machine (other than make things worse). Not sure what you mean by pull roll servo center, but any moving roller needs to exceedingly close attention to alignment. Even moving guides if not properly designed can throw wrinkles. A whole chapter on guides in our new book and a dozen pages on alignment. See free Wrinkle Troubleshooter by (Steven) AbbotApp to diagnose wrinkles before trial and erroring in the field. Best wishes.
