@sss productions @luxturna its a question for both. will this gene therapy still work after covid infection or vaccination? i m asking because after infection body develops some immunity against viruses and covid vaccines are to stop virus infection and hence viruses are not that effective. gene therapy is also based on viruses. please provide some knowledge.
The virus contains no viral parts; it's essentially an empty shell that carries the RPE65 gene into retina cells. So this treatment will not be affected in any way by any vaccines.

I don't know how genes work but is there any hope of qualifying for this therapy when your RP gene is RLBP1? Do you know of any other interventions?

If gene therapy is a thing, what about addressing Sticklers disease which also affects the eyes and can cause retina detachment?
