Crichton was so ahead of the times. He is missed for not only his work but for his opinions.

I think Crichton was a good example how we feel threatened by intelligence.
Crichton said MANY times that his book is NOT a critic of Japan, it's criticizing AMERICA! That's what I ALWAYS thought when I watched the movie and especially read the book. Crichton seeks to educate us with his books. It's not racist in the least.
I agree. So often in the book there was discussion that America was complacent, sloppy, arrogant and naive.

very bad book. typical crichton book there is not one redeemable character. everyone is very flawed. no one you can identify with. the long boring descriptions and almost total lack of action make this a regrettable read.
everyone is very flawed....aka realistic. i don't know how you can't identify with it, you must find yourself perfect which speaks volumes about you. moreover he's had plenty of redeemable characters in his works you just refuse to see them...
then again you chose to watch a video about a book you apparently find extremely distasteful, you are a very odd paradoxical fellow.
