I love that Lindsay gives complex subjects their due. Not everything can be condensed into a soundbite.

That’s a wonderful way of saying that Lindsay is incredibly verbose and incapable of summing up and packaging his thoughts into manageable portions, it’s like a never ending stream of consciousness.

@@sharifsalem Very true, and it's a shame as the other side is adept at transmitting their ideas in an easily digestible way, eg "silence is violence". They do that because it works. Fortunately there are better communicators out there, such as Chris Rufo, and Andrew Doyle of course.

It’s crazy that this conversation is very common now, all academics have arrived at similar points of analysis (woke as a religion, they’re trying to deconstruct societal norms et al the french philosophers) yet the conversation is just not allowed on a mainstream platform.

Andrew Doyle is the only gem in GB News’ tarnished crown. He is by far the best analyst of the woke discourse and the most sympathetic interviewer of the likes of James Lindsay, having the wit and intellect to summarise their key points and interrogate them on the fundamentals of the issues and arguments they present.

This is barely relevant to the video, but The Guardian gave one of my favorite gross-out comedy movies, The Greasy Strangler, zero out of five stars. The director was bragging about it on Twitter on the film's 5th anniversary. Getting a 1 star review from them likely just means Andrew's show is hilarious.

James Lindsey either purposefully, or through lack of clear understanding, misses the key point of all the late 20th century Marxist thinkers that he criticizes here. Adorno and Gramsci were keenly aware that Capital was adapting to the means and technologies of cultural production, and they were looking for a way to prevent the total subsumption of culture into surplus value. When Capitalism assigns value to language and images, it renders them unfree.
So to accuse thinkers that were so concerned with battling Capitalism’s blitzkrieg of thought and culture, of doing the opposite? - of trying to control cultural production- is, well…irresponsible to say the least and nefarious to be more accurate.
Here I could point to Facebook’s monetizing of family portraits and political discussion, through click-based targeted advertising, as the culmination of everything Adorno warned and fought against.
How would Lindsey propose we free ourselves from Facebook or Instagram then? Can he explain a new system of relations or production that allows for free thought in the 21st century ? 1/2

You'd have to be an idiot to suppose that once you racialise Marxism you still have something remotely recognisable as far-left politics. It is manifestly far-right politics. The clue's not far to seek: 'Racial Socialism'.... which would have been a better term for AH's National Socialism, since he cared not one whit for the German nation, but rather only for the Aryan race (at least before it proved itself inferior to the Slav one).
But today we have misogynist bigots calling themselves feminists, homophobic bigots calling themselves LGBT activists, racial obsessives calling their obsession 'antiracism', civil liberties organizations calling for censorship and crackdowns on elementary civil liberties.... so why not Fascists calling themselves Marxists and Communists?
"Il fascismo si divide in due parti: il fascismo propriamente detto e l'antifascismo" - Mino Maccari

That's actually a valid point. For the average person who's a non-academic or like many people who only have a four year bachelors degree and spent most of their college/university years drinking and fucking, this stuff needs to be explained in a less complex non-academic manner. He needs to come out and explicitly explain what this stuff boils down to, reverse Jim Crow/discrimination against white people.

This conversation about "critical race theory" sounds convoluted. Honestly, this sounds like confused chatter. I empathize with these fellows. They seem sincere. But they are engaging mainly in logical fallacies, ad hominem attacks, and smears.
If there is a point these two blokes are making, it gets lost in their manic ranting. These blokes need to engage in a dialogue with opposing interlocutors. As is, this whole broadcast sounds like unpersuasive sophistry.
