- Clasiq sits down with retired General Motors Chief Designer for Cadillac Wayne Kady. Kady is the man responsible for leading the redesign of the 1971 Cadillac Eldorado which replaced the previous model designed in ‘67. This was the first time since 1966 Cadillac produced a convertible model for the Eldorado. Hear amazing fist hand insight into some of the design choices made that helped make the ninth
What a humble design genuis. All Brands start with design .. this should be shown in every business school
I’m 21 years old Japanese
I was really impressed Eldorado which designed by Mr.Kady
After graduating, I’ll work hard to own the Eldorado!✌️
Nick Bennett Cornwall England What a talent! To even attempt to follow the 67-70 Eldorado ( which I love) must have been daunting. The convertible version in '71' was perfectly styled. I wouldn't change a thing. And the first year design was the best without the protection rubbing strips and of course now there was a convertible.
I had a '72 Eldo convertible. I like how Wayne kept the " Darren Dip " in the profile of the Eldorado.
Love the 1972 Eldorado. While the 1973 is cleaner, the 1972 has panache in my opinion. Thank You, Mr. Kady.
That 71 Eldo is beautiful. Thanks Wayne
What about 80 Seville though ? His work as well.
Thank you for these Designer Series! I only just found your page (referred by Adam on Rare Classic Cars page)!
I've been a great admirer of Mr. Kady for many years, so I truly appreciate this post!
Awesome! Glad you found them. Isn't he such a great designer? We love how he talks about his craft.
An AMAZING designer, indeed!
Cars & Music...my two passions!
Wayne Kady and Ken Burns, they both illustrate and illuminate so well!
@@Clasiq HI SIR. I POSTED A COMMENT ON A PROTOTYPE 67 ELDO WITH THE 500 C.I. THAT DIDNT COME OUT TILL 70. IT ALSO HAD THE PLUM FIREMIST (POLY ??) METALLIC. HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER IN 56 YEARS !!!!. WOULD LOVE TO REACH OUT TO MR. KADY. HE MAY REMEMBER. THIS HAD TO BE A PROTOTYPE AND DEALER DEMO. THANK YOU
Great stuff, thanks for sharing it 👍🏽
thank you for this upload, very interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it
Interesting to hear him share his thoughts but the interview was overly focused on the 1971 Eldorado. It would have been great to also hear him discuss his other noteworthy designs like the 1980 Seville parked in that garage.
Adam of Rare Classic Cars on UA-cam discusses the other cars with Wayne Kady, look for his channel.
Or the Devil, what ever you call the President
Shhhhhhhh, he normally designed God's car
YES. I OWN A 72 CONVERTIBLE. GOLD/GOLD BLACK TOP. I LOVE THE STYLE OF THE 72. VERY SLEEK AND SEXY AS ARE MOST CADDYS
Dear Mr Kady, Please tell me if you remember the 1967 first year FWD Eldorado???. My Dad purchased a new 67, must have been a prototype in PLUM FIREMIST POLLY METALLIC. IT HAD A 500 C.I. MONSTER ENGINE FIRST BROUGHT OUT IN 1970, BUT THIS 67 HAD IT. IM POSSITIVE. I BELIEVE IT SAID 501 IN SMALL #s ON THE SIDE OF THE AIR CLEANER. IT HAD THE PAINTED BLINKERS AS IT SHOULD HAVE BUT ALSO THE ROUND CREST LIGHTS ON REAR QUARTERS WHICH CAME OUT IN 68. WHAT A RARE RARE 67 ELDO. HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER ESPECIALLY THE PLUM PAINT!!!!!!
