Thanks for covering this lantern. Most of my Coleman stuff is older but I picked up one of these "lightly used" -as you mentioned, they are frequently found in local online ads and are simple "users". 👍👍👍

I have been binge watching your videos - thanks for all the great tips - from soldering to sucking fonts - im an old guy too (71) and those caps should be call senior proof - 1st thing I do is pop the tops off those and get to the real cap

question regarding your other video with muriatic acid and water to remove grime on the fount, whats the ratio you use? thanks 👍

1 third muriatic and 2 thirds water-- and the acid to the water and not the other way around

With a C font like you are using here, can you remove the fuel/air tube from the top of the font and invert the font and drain it out? Or, is the F/A tube not removable? I really like your method and will try that on a lantern (220E) I am restoring.

Hello, this is a difficult question, but how much rust in a font is too much? Will some left over cause problems?

technically if it is solid rust and not rusted through it should not be a problem-- but if its flaky rust or loose rust it can block your pick up tube-- also its always a good idea to make sure all the steel under the rust is sound-- sometimes rust can go right through and will even hold pressure for little while but if it lest loose while burning it will be catastrophic!1 email me for more details woundeddog2@mia.net

Off Topic, but,.......... do you know how to rebuild the packing (graphite like a lantern or string) on a CQ lamp fuel valve? I have asked several folks here on UA-cam and I have yet to get an answer from someone that has done it. I have three and one all fixed up, but it is dangerous to burn as it leaks Coleman fuel at the valve shaft packing and, "yes" it is tightened correctly.

you can buy graphite impregnated string at your local hardware store like the stuff for repackting the packing on old school valves--- you can even use teflon tape ~~~ just wrap a lot around the valve stem and screw back in--if it still leaks use a little more tape !

Go to Coleman Facebook groups you will get fast answers there also I think old Coleman parts sells value stem packing
