    This is a fantastic video, Thanks. I've been needing a new phone, as my Galaxy-Prime is out of date now (over seven years old), and this video has convinced me to bite the bullet and get a new phone. I'm pretty handy with repairs, but this looks like it would be pretty difficult for me to do. Thanks again for such a good tutorial.

    Straight forward instructions for soldering a new charging port. Thank you for keeping it simple and pointing out the difficult part on soldering the micro pins to mother board.

    I wish this had shown instead of some other videos. You explain why to do something and technique that others dont show or talk about. I replaced the screen on my j7 and now it won't turn on. It also has a charging port problem. I will look and see if you have videos about that but I wanted to say best video I have seen on the subject. Nobody else talked about the little prongs or the little wires. The just did the 4 big ones and that was it. Thanks again.

    Nice video!
    Novice question: After having essentially ripped the two halves apart without heating the glue, would it not be a good idea to heat the glue after re-assembly to make it settle back to its original bonding position/strength and perhaps re-tighten the screws a bit as it settles? -- It just seems a little too easy! ;-]

    Also, what's the air flow number on the heat gun?

      It depends on what heath gun are you using. I putted nine on the highest. Make sure you are not burning your motherboard.

    Good work but sorry you should protect the mic from the hot air first!!

    • @robertcartier5088
      @robertcartier5088 4 роки тому

      Why? If the mic was installed by hot air, then it can take it directly for a time... why protect it from a possible minor side blast now? It will not de-solder unless the heat is sustained. And he's using a very narrow nozzle and keeping it in constant motion to avoid that. So, unless you sell capton tape for a living, I don't see a problem. ;-]

  • @thelasttrumpet4597

    Micro soldering is so sensitive- I’m not sure I could pull this through. Chargie USB stick is a sure solution as it removes charge port risk and prolongs battery life.

  • @wagnersilva9344
    @wagnersilva9344 4 роки тому

    I've seen people doing similar job but using the air station instead. They'd put the new solder in, then put the replace part on top, and then use the air station to melt the solder and fixate the part. Do you think that method would work on this?

    • @iSmart1
      @iSmart1  4 роки тому +1

      yes, it's possible just the air station will melt the plastic inside the charging port that's why I prefer to do it manually.

    • @wagnersilva9344
      @wagnersilva9344 4 роки тому

      @@iSmart1 I see.. That's a fair point. But I'm pretty bad with the iron, so I'm scared to damage the motherboard with it. What if I protect the insides with foiled tape? Would that protect it?
