Daisuke, my friend. I have returned home from a day spent with family and am back at my computer having just finished reading the booklet included in this set as well as your discussion here. Thank you so much for these video discussions. I know for certain that I am haunted for life by the experience this Criterion boxset has provided me. I knew nothing about Chantal Akerman prior to hearing your enthusiasm for this set's announcement. When I looked at the Criterion website and read the synopsis, my heart told me that I would find an entry point where I could both experience and enjoy these works immensely. Boy was I ever right. I say again though, I do not feel qualified to speak about these works. Though, reading the essay(s) did tell me a lot more about what I was feeling while watching them. I tried my best to express to my sister today some of what it was I had been doing with my time or what I was feeling while watching these works, I don't know if I'll ever have the chance to really convey what it was these works said to me. I didn't lose my grandmother in the Holocaust, and I did not have the exact same life as Chantal Akerman, but I can honestly say that I have a deep love for her now. Watching these works was like having my heart and mind mined for feelings I myself have had towards the human experience. This has been incredible, and I can only again express again how thankful I am to know you and have access to these video discussions of yours where you speak so much better than I could ever hope to about these works and their existence. I'm completely shocked that artworks of this level even exist in the world. Wow... I look forward to hearing your ranking of the works and I will try my absolute best to provide a ranking of my own. Thank you again, Daisuke and I hope you have a wonderful, magical rest of your week at the time of this comment which is the first week of September 2024. Cheers.
Not to diminish my comments and not being funny but this has been such a heavy experience that I have to provide some levity and that is that I kept thinking about the Aerosmith classic as I watched these films. That being ---- "Love in an ELEVATOR'! Livin' it up while I'm goin' doOooOoOoowwwwn!"

Wonderful set and reviews was a treat from beginning to end,my only complaint is I wish we had more films and much more supplementary since in my opinion, shined a major light on her work and the mind of Chantal Akerman herself.
