  • Is the Novritsch the BEST AIRSOFT P90? Or is it meh?..
Join me as I unbox the SSR90, Novritsch version of P90. Now updated to Generation 2! First thoughts and comparison to Generation 1.
I waffle away with honest thoughts, stumble on words and generally am dumb. ^_^

The bb labels are pretty cool. I am less than stellar about keeping bbs separate. (Of course the replica itself is nice as well; that body is so SF otherworldly to me, love it)

The BB labels ARE really smart. Of course, a bit masking tape and a pen would do the same job, but here "dinner is served" ^_^

Binary trigger is just another way for players to "loophole" around semi-only rules. I initially disallowed it in the rules, but one of my players showed up with it, so I now allow it with a 50' MED, same as full auto.
15:50: We call it "flash". But yeah, those externals are very sub-par.
    The pink is pretty!
JG is the OEM for these, as I recall, but I don't know the OEM for the MOSFET. However, if you don't already have some, I highly recommend you get some electrical contact cleaner spray (WD-40 makes some). MOSFETs like to stop working for basically any (sometimes no) reason. First course of action to clean them off is with the contact cleaner spray. Ever since I put the Gate Titan in Tessa's T10 (basically because I didn't feel like grinding down gear teeth to stop the overspin), it's been down more than it's been up. The last time it went down, just spraying the contact cleaner up through the trigger made it go again... until next time. 😛
I know of your love for the P90 style, and truly hope this thing is amazing for you!! Good video!

Yeah, I have NO love for Binary. It's an unfortunate spill-over from paintball to speedball. Your rules-set was an interesting work around to close that loophole. Smart.
My honest feeling is that I would really like to test that PERUN drop-in mosfet. I need to read up a little on if the PERUN has pre-cock. It's honestly the pre-cocking that is 90% of my selling point, and the last 10% is the redesign made on the outside.
I think the disappointment in my voice really says what I think about the build quality. ;-)
But having played with the Gen1 a long time, and now having played with my Gen2 (video coming, of course) OHMYGAWD yes, I love that gun. I can still clean up the flash by my self, and glue the seam. (I JUST SHOULDN'T NEED TO AT THIS PRICE POINT!)

This is the first time I have heard and/or understood what a binary trigger is. It sounds cool but of course I can see the issues this causes. I’ve never personally seen a binary setting on a replica. Rare?

@@Becky-no5jc It requires internal electronics, which equates to "more invisible shit that can fail". I was an electronics tech in the US Navy. I've worked on electronics and computers for a bulk of my life. I actually know a thing or two about MOSFETs and ICs and PCBs and other microcomponents. I don't just hate MOSFETs for the sake of hating them. Of course, I don't share my resume with everyone, so they just think I'm an online idiot. Which I am, but I know a whole hell of a lot more about electronics than the average bear.
I was also micro/mini solder qualified in the Navy. That means I sometimes used a literal microscope to solder components to a PCB. I *know* how to solder. GATE does not know how to solder, based on the massive chunk of solder they put on the deans connector on Tessa's Titan. There's a photo of that bullshit on my FB. If they can't do a simple solder job, then their ability to build intricate electronics is enough case for me to nope the fuck out of there.

@@RogerFriberg I also point out that if binary triggers are so awesome, why aren't they used in real world militaries?
Oh, right.. because it's UNSAFE. And not very effective. It just wastes ammo. I really want to tell people to just fucking learn how to play... learn how to shoot and move and be effective, but a bulk of players just want to run around the woods like idiots, slinging plastic everywhere.
You know how many BBs I went through yesterday? Less than 240 (two mags). One mag was used up for semi-auto suppression. I took out the entire other team at one point.. two shots/one hit. I didn't need full-auto. I didn't need binary triggers. I just needed patience and work the terrain to my advantage. I was also only hit twice. Both times in the replica. lol

Ive been looking for a gen 1 vs gen 2 comparison. novritsch support couldn't even make a distinction.
