All of the remakes are pretty great except for LGPE. Fire Red could have used some extra features but it's really cool that it's just like the old game.
Wow, it honestly never occurred to me that you could beat the gyms "out of order" I always did them in the same linear fashion. I had no idea there was a bit of wiggle room. Really cool to see you beating Erica after Blaine for instance. I just never realised it was possible, but I you've shown me that it apparently is. Makes me wonder whether the other games allow you to beat gym leaders "out of order" (without glitches or cheats). It's an interesting concept, really. Cool speedrun!
@@OrionNebula91 In RSE you can skip the second gym till later. You just have to go through the cave on the island without flash to proceed in the storyline

Nice run! I have a small question about the RNG manip for the starter, how have you figured out the exact IVs and natures and the exact times for all of them? Is this the same for everyone or is it different for every system? It kinda seems pointless going for runs if I have a bad starter so I'd love to know how to consistently get a decent one :)
This is the program I use for RNG manip: forums.pokemonspeedruns.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=499 The speedrun.com page for this game has more info on how to use it. The stats are the same, but the timing is slightly different on emulator because it has less lag.
1) Why did you pick up the Moon Stone and then throw it away later? Instead of just not picking it up in the first place? 2) How come you can use escape rope in Saffron Gym, but not in Cinnabar or Viridian Gyms?
weird.. i srtarted a new game with the video... but as i played along not only did my talk boxes take longer to clear but i just outright had more text. also noticed npcs missing really early on that i encountered
Pwnydwn if you are playing as the boy that would explain the longer text because the boy character has more text or you had your settings on normal speed and not fast hope this helps
It's really hard, because Nidoran was significantly nerfed in FRLG. Its learnset was changed to learn Horn Attack at level 20, no longer has the X accuracy/horn Drill exploit, and the good TM's it could learn like ice beam and thunderbolt are locked behind the Game Corner. It's more doable if you hack in a Nidoking as the starter but the Elite 4 is pretty tricky without Horn Drill. I just did one yesterday.
lol'd at that Geodude guarding the exit.
Exarion, you are awesome man! The number of records you have set is amazing. What a contribution you have made to Pokemon speedrunning
which brings him literally 0 in Reallife, so gg :D

I actually forgot about Erica one playthrough XD
In GSC you can decide the order between Jasmine and Chuck, but that's it

in GSC you can beat Pryce before Jasmine and Chuck too, just surf outside the cave instead of traversing it.
Brock to pass kid - misty for cut - koga for surf - blaine - giovanni, the other 3 can be done any time after misty and before giovanni
What tool do you use to tell the squirtles nature and stats? Great run btw.
Timothy McColgan did u read the bottom part of video?

1) The item is blocking your path. You can't beat the game without picking it up.
2) Not sure; that one's always puzzled me too.
2) because for some people Saffron is probably harder to navigate

I'd love to see XD, good luck bro
what console do you play on, and how are you able to record gameplay with the timer?
GameBoy Player for the GameCube. I record gameplay using a Dazzle DVC 100 capture card. The timer is a separate app on my computer called LiveSplit.
Nice! ^^
I don't get why you use water pulse on kadabra and bite on growlithe in the same fight, is it just because you know 100% it will kill anyway?
Oh I get it, it's the extra time it takes to say "it's super effective" lol 😂

wish you actually explained more during the actual run of why things are important.....
I can't explain everything during the run without losing the focus required to complete it. I'll be happy to answer questions in the comments, though.

Why does your squirtle do way more damage than mine .-.
Speedrunners usually reset for the best possible stats, since average stats won't allow you to complete the fastest route without losing fights.
