👏👏👏!So happy to see you back! We learnt from your older videos for Suzuki book 4 tutorial in 2020, so helpful, now we are learning Bruch concertos, Bach partita, can’t wait for your wonderful tips and tutorials …
So happy yo see you're back posting. My position is good over g d and a but some how goes bad on e. Sometimes it's my violin position but sometimes my hand collapsing. I'm going to try this for sure.
Hello ! I am a 23 years old French violonist and I started to watch your videos in 2007/2008 when I started the violin. Now I am in the National Conservatory of Lyon preparing for my first international competition and I am still coming back to your channel to check up my technique and fix all the details I don’t think about. I wanted to thank you for that. It feels like I’ve grown as a violinist with you during 15 year even though you don’t know me haha ! Thank you professor V.
@@professorV I’m a beginner violinist. I saw your video on keeping the bow straight with your recommendation to bow short instead of using long bows This has helped quite a bit in keeping control of the bow for now until I become more proficient on the technique .Thank you!🎻
Hi Lu Yan, the left wrist can definitely move, especially for a hand/wrist type vibrato. The basic position of the wrist should be neutral, or flat, because it allows better use of the pinky, and doesn’t create problems when shifting into higher positions. Unfortunately, the natural inclination for most people is to collapse the wrist when first holding the violin, which quickly becomes a habit very difficult to break. This trick is intended to give feedback to a player trying to first learn the position, or to undo a habit. Hope that answers your question!
Happy to know you're still active. I learned violin in the earlies using your videos.

Thanks! What this trick tells me is that the left wrist shouldn't flex. The only motion should come from the forearm twisting. Is this correct?
