One of my favourite things about this song is the charting. Normally when both BF and the opponent are singing at the same time, like 2:05 onward, the notes are either an exact copy on both sides, or mirrored. But here, they just happen to be singing notes at the same times- the notes themselves aren't the same. BF and GF aren't on the same page.

It's almost like they are arguing. GF is trying to force BF to see that she can't live without him while BF is trying to force her to see that he can't stay because his feelings are long gone and that he's with Pico now.

The fact that GF basically begged for BF to stay is showing how messed up this timeline is compared to the og one. I mean like let's be real in many mods GF barely cares about bf's position
Because ironically enough she's canonically too stupid to give a shit about anything, especially facing stuff that's dangerous to her and BF. Only thing that "scares" her is sudden loud sounds like thunder.
edit: after looking at some mods the only ones I see where they genuinely make her an asshole is Sky and Shaggy, nothing really much else because she's just silent and still bops her head

I can't help but feel bad for GF. She's not actually all that bad, just a tad misunderstood. She's genuinely hurt and upset because of BF choosing Pico over her, especially with how her parents treated her and manipulated her into thinking she and BF were made for each other. This mod is amazing.

The thing I love about FNF Soft's OST is how Boyfriend's voice has been edited. His voice sounds a lot more hoarse like he is almost struggling to sing at times. Which I think makes sense since he probably hasn't practiced singing at all, so he isn't exactly trained to do it much. It's such a nice touch to differentiate Soft BF from regular BF
It's probably not that it sounds like probably because he's been traumatized by singing since it was what his parents wanted him to do and singing turned from something he might have enjoyed to something that feels like a cage since he's parents were too controlling over him as you saw that the gf even said he was far much better so the reason he may sound like he's struggling is that he can't sing for fun anymore cause it brings him pain

It made sense why Softie had to break up with Soft GF, but the heartbreak in her voice makes you feel a bit like a villain.
Yeah :( but for me, isn't just a little bit, it makes me feel like a real villain bc i simp for GF(yes, i'm in love with GF), and just imagine, ur Boyfriend/Girlfriend breaks up with u bc he/she/they find anothers person, it's like, u understand why breaks up with u, but, at the same time, u feel trayted... And the fact that the Chapter is called "A Chillhood Friend" makes me feel worst...
What makes this even worse is that GF's parents brainwashed and lied to her into believing that she and BF were meant to be together. All of this was just a trick and forced relationship for her, but she was already too deep into believing thanks to her parents treating her the same way as BF's

The ending kinda has a Corruption feel to it. Like how your opponent knows they lost but can't do anything about it.
Okay- this is going to be a bit of a long one. but please, hear me out.
When i say i have never felt the better types of goosebumps, i mean it, out of all the songs in all possible FNF mods, THIS is the favourite one of mine. It genuinely makes me feel like it's the outro of an overdramatic romance anime, and those vibes CANNOT be topped, i am genuinely suprised that this was the group's first project- i don't know where you were looking for these guys, but the entire team deserves a praise. I know this also has been said in the comments by Zum1UDontNo, but when bf and gf sing at the same time, their notes aren't the exact copy, which shows off that they both want different things to happen, i'm probably going to have this stuck in my head for at least three weeks, but it's worth it! keep up the great work! i am imcredibly excited to see the adventures of pico and bf, the two are so darn adorable! especially when pico gets flustered!
If this is where i think its going, week 7 of fnf had pico return in stress, maybe this mods analog will have gf see that she is practically programmed by her parents and join softie in the last week 7 analog, bc i think her also turning against her parents would be a plot point

This is actually my favorite song in the entirety of the Soft Mod, great job making this!
I don't know if it's just me overthinking this so if I am don't tell me smh/hj
In the other two songs were Grace (GF) was singing to Benjamin (BF), there is a certain sort of tone of vibe I got from it.
On "Playdate" it seem like a best friend reunion, were Grace wanted to sing with Benjamin like the old times they were together. Basically showing how happy she was to see him again like she expressed in the dialogue. The music and tone of voice shows this too!
In "Stay" Grace's song was a big faster and a bit more upsetting to hear. Showing that she really was upset that Benjamin was going to go, but having that bit of hope that he'll at least stay. Singing to him a song like they did back then, once again, just hoping he'll be with her.
And finally, "It's Complicated", Grace's song is more faster, no more of that happy tone in the music, but more of a sad one. Grace is begging and really wants Benjamin to not leave her, she wanted to have that life with him. Wanted him to stay. But it's so complicated for him to tell her that he had a reason to leave, and to not take on that life her parents promised her.

Being someone who speaks Spanish and who did not understand the meaning of the song 2 years ago until seeing the mod, I realize that time makes things shine slowly but positively, I hope this continues to grow and shine at the same time, hoping that it is not "complicated" ❤️
I love all the songs of this chapter but this one stood out the most to me so emotional and the vocals are the key point that blows me away from this song 10/10 for me. Also i love gf's art design
The thing about all of the Soft songs is that you can always feel an emotion in them, without even knowing the context. This song sounds sad and desperate, similar to GF's feelings. Love this mod. Lmao

my fav soundtrack of the whole mod. it just feels like theyre arguing and trying to conform to a mutual understanding but just cant because theyre fate is just different from each others. GF's solo at 1:23 is just her screaming her heart out desperately trying to get bf to live a happy life with her and its so sad yet the musical writing in it is just beautiful. This is easily the most well written song in fnf because of the raw emotion being poured out of each note and I love it sm. I would go into more detail but this paragraph is already long enough as it is. if u made it this far ty for reading and major kudos to the developers of this mod for making such a fantastic story :)

Man why am i feeling nostalgic to not even 5 years of beeps and bops, maybe this is gonna sound weird but i'm not joking when i say FNF was a REAAAALLY BIG part of my life back In 2021 since it was a source of happiness and fun at times when i wasn't exactly having a good time (yk pandemic and quarantine and stuff) so i think you could imagine how i felt when i started losing interest on it in 2022 and left for 2 years; just like this song made feel Grace. Crazy to imagine how people can impact others whit just something as simple as a videogame, or a song, or wathever... i just saw that in myself.

@@azizshamsi6044 I can answer my situation, at the time I was in a depressive phase of my life, my grandfather died and my grandmother with Alzheimer's had to come live in my house because no one could ~would~ Taking care of her, and that was sad, and the pandemic didn't help so the repetitive fnf songs made me escape from my suffering for a moment.
