- It was nearly a flop but I managed to save it!
Handbuilding a ceramic vase using the coil method. It is by far the slowest method but the result is so worth it.
Follow along the journey of making a vase collection for my small business, Klay Ceramics ( www.instagram.... )🏺
I have mentioned in previous videos that I have been experimenting with different styles and techniques for my first collection, and I have finally found what I love making, vases and sculptural pieces! ✨
I hand-build my vases, using the coil and slab method. I use white stoneware (more specifically Fenix Fine coarse stoneware clay). A lot of love, time, and effort goes into each piece, often taking up to 7 hours straight to make each (for just the sculpting part and then still needing to sponge, glaze, and fire)
I am SO excited about these pieces, so much care has been put into each step 🤍

Oi , muito lindo! Eu quero começa a fazer canecas , mais o que tá sendo difícil é sobre as pinturas os esmaltes gostaria que você passasse a lista sobre a pintura por favor
Hi!✨ normal paint will burn off in the kiln so you must use underglaze. Underglaze is a special type of paint specifically for ceramics. For the glossy finish you must use glaze - you get glaze in a lot of different colours and in transparent. I would suggest using brush-on-glaze - you paint it on over your piece (make sure it doesn’t tough the bottom of your piece otherwise it will stick to the kiln!). The best is to go to a pottery supply store and ask for their help, they’ll be able to tell you exactly what you need. I’ll do a video where I explain all of the pottery basics! 🤍
