- So as you all know by this point, I don't script any of my videos and instead, just make it up as I go along. With videos like these, the story just evolves in my head as i'm speaking, so they can literally go anywhere at all haha. I hope you can find this video relaxing and while it's not traditional ASMR, you might still find it helps you sleep :D

ASMR is essentially a made up acronym (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response ) used to describe that tingly / buzzing feeling you may have experienced in your head or running down your spine. The sensation can be triggered by personal attention, tutorials, sounds etc. If you are discovering "ASMR" videos for the first time, their primary purpose is just to relax and almost always to send the listener to sleep.

There isn’t a better asmrtist out there. I have watched every video countless times and I have to say you are so under appreciated for the amount of work that you do. I know most are just single takes with not much prep due to your normal job, but it is amazing how immersive you make them. Each video becoming a new story or a continuation of an old one. We appreciate you and everything you do Matt. Thank you from the asmr community.
I like how he just goes with whatever comes to him, in a way it almost feels like its a real interaction because of have everything just seems to flow.
Yeah he is very good at what he does. But on the other hand, for sleeping I like to listen to whispering. MassageASMR is the legend in those. These soft spoken roleplays by Matt are great for me to listen to during working and studying.

You always seem to do positive ASMRs, like "Luxury Hotel" or "VIP Flight" but when you do stuff like this you're awesome. You should do, maybe, Zombie Apocalypse Survivor ASMR or something like that? Would be interesting to see your take on that.
Wow, what a very creative take on an ASMR video. Only you could have come up with such, Matt and as always, it's a wonderful video of top quality content. There has never been a video that you released that hasn't got me to relax. Anytime I have a less than wonderful day, I can come to this channel and let my troubles go. That has always been the case and now is no exception at all. You sure do put a ton of effort into each of your videos and so, thanks for going that extra mile for us. It's really appreciated and your efforts really pay off.

i can't stress enough how much i love these, and "The interrogation" and "Government screening" are my favourites, i'd love to even see a trilogy be made out of them, but i understand if it would be hard tying it all in together when all is improv

I had a random thought during the starting sequence in the rain, which made me think that you'd be great at an rp of a character called Samuel Vimes from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld series! It'd be the most niche ASMR rp video, but oh well haha.
This has a feeling like all the luxury videos are hiding this murky reality under their veneer. I love that the lack of context leaves it open to be connected to everything.

Sure the thread of stuff is improvised, but that makes it almost more fun to string the presented concepts together, especially since this is the second one in this setting! ^v^
From "The Escape" we know:
-we're leaving a not quite a literal prison which may as well be, (24s)
-the setting is heavily controlled by a totalitarian regime, (7mins 15s)
-that apparently most people (or at least most of the Man In the Blue Shirt's clients) in there aren't first generation, (1h 17mins 30s)
-that food is rare and under regime control, (7mins)
-There's a nearby river, (24 mins)
-that artificial powdered or pill-formed nutrition is available readily enough to sustain the population (?), (1h 13mins 45s)
-that there are a number of divided groups (clans and tribes) in relatively close proximity, (most of the video and the anticipated duration of the trip.)
-that we're in a probably near-ish (?) future setting, probably not much later than the 2070s (???) given that the gold jubilee sovereigns being over a century old makes them particularly important compared to the other gold items, (19mins 30s)
-that there are free territories (Elysium) out there not directly controlled by the regime, (6mins 43s and 46mins 40s
This one tells us:
-that water (at least outside the prison-city) is rare,
-that there are other towns possibly between the place and the free territories, under control of the regime, presumably different than the clans and tribes since no mention of the tolls/tributes came up,
-the prison-city is used as a manufacturing hub for some specific metal (alloy? particularly treated metal? I'unno and not really important but interesting)
-the Man in the Blue Shirt and associates control their escape route pretty tightly
-that the people in the prison-city are uniquely affected by the chems sprayed on the forest
-that the people in the prison-city are subjected to subliminal effects that alter their neurological behavior.
-that there is some branch of royalty with unique neural patterns.
Time to think!
The description of the prison-city between the two videos makes me think of a designated actual ghetto, a city or section of a city that serves as a place to send undesirables where they can be supervised, policed, and.... "rehabilitated" as the regime desires. For whatever reason I'm specifically getting the feeling of some kind of arcology, though I don't have actual evidence for that beyond the idea of it being more-or-less a prison which implies that it's dense and self contained. Based on the "most are not first generation" thing, it's been around for a WHILE. Like, I'unno what the life expectancy is like in there, die off of the elderly or middle aged would make it more likely, but it's still probably been at least a couple decades? Especially if people are continuing to get shipped there, which they are if we've only been there a few years and are probably an adult or a teen at youngest
That water isn't accessible but there's a river fairly nearby to the prison-city suggests that either we're going in a different direction than the POV char in the Escape that doesn't really get near it, or, more likely since it's raining and apparently that won't work, there's some REAL bad pollution that requires filtration. Fun fact, did you know that rain water on Earth now is no longer considered safe enough to be your primary drinking water source? It true! Makes that option VERY very likely. Future context also supported and supports it, too. Runoff from industrial processes doesn't help, either, and the prison-city is a metalworking facility, at least partially. That all said, not obviously dealing with the tribes and clans along the river while dealing with towns whose guards will be alerted and possibly on the lookout for us implies that both options are true.
The regime being in place combined with the split tribes implies that something catastrophic happened to the current world order. I'm guessing environmental disaster followed by anarchy and a claw-back of control by people with resources, just based on the water thing and near-future dystopia tropes? And again it's been this way for a WHILE because of how established the cultural traditions of these groups are, to the point that it makes me question earlier era estimates some. Like, maybe push things to a century or more?
There are clients willing to pay what seems like pretty well to get relatively small pieces of Silver Lining Metal or electronics (unless the memory card was just storing data of value, in which case information) out of the city, implying that there are people outside with substantial amounts of money. Some kind of foreign power? Post-collapse feudal-lord equivalents? Either way, it's interesting!
There's more to put together here and puzzle out for more complete improvised world lore, but this comment is already a monster. Point is, there's actually a really neat world to explore here!
I normally can't stand the sound of chewing and eating, but this one didn't bother me at all. It was strangely relaxing. I'm really confused by how I responded to that part.
Same but I think it's because the eating sounds here are natural. Most ASMR artists chew very close to the mic.

This and the escape role play are epic . Like mini stories and so immersive, but aargh , fall asleep cause of the asmr aspect. So then later have to rewatch when awake. And the half dreams i have had with these playing in background. Truly amazing, thank youuu, relaxing and helping hone imaginations, thank you!
I don’t feel asmr very strongly, sometimes I second guess if I even feel it at all. This video didn’t bring it out as strongly as others, but it sure did spark a creative explosion.

This and the 'Escape' video are among my all time favourite videos on the site. The lapse in views compared to the normal roleplay videos does hurt my heart a little bit, but it goes to show only the TRULY cultured will help bring down a corrupt society with Matt's help!
