As someone living in Germany - there are a few issues/ comments I have on the part about Olaf Scholz. 1) the FDP is a middle-right economic party. They run on pure capitalism, i.e. cutting social spending and welfare to reduce government spending and reducing climate policy so that you can drive fast on the autobahn and buy fast cars. Absolutely not a left party. Closer to the American understanding of a libertarian. 2) the graphic used for German parties is very questionable. The reason they aren’t banned is because the government sees them as too small to pose any risk (which is incredibly stupid imo). 3) Not an issue in the video per se, but an issue in Germany. The AFD, who’s poster was shown at the end of the segment, is a far right, anti-immigration, semi nationalist party which uses very similar tactics (and policy) to trump, being incredibly populist. I think it’s dangerous to show them as a simple alternative in the video, even though they are one of the fastest growing parties here.
Banning a party that 20% of the population supports is ridiculous. Leftist politicians simply are trying to control politics by banning anybody not left wing. AFD in germany is growing for the same reasons Trump won in America: estiblishment trying to "reeducate" people instead of taking their issues seriously and help people.

Your take on 10 year is missing a big talking point. The 10 year is rising because of credit risk. Anything beyond 3 years for treasuries is AA instead of AAA. Investors don’t think the US gov will be able to pay its debt obligations in 10 years. Crazy gov spending and high interest being paid. High is the relative term for the past 15 years

I've been binging his hitman series, didn't realize he's actually well spoken on economics huh 0,o. Well spoke and good explanation of Tarrifs. A top search's after the election was what's a tarrif 🙄. Maybe search that before the election?

and what he fails to realize every time he talks tariffs is that they can also be used as a bartering tool. "yeah guys, im going to slap you with this tariff here... UNLESS OF COURSE..." And finally, Tell me about how badly the trumps first term the tariffs impacted you. I'll wait.
@@Usersuniteddawg that is historically not the case. Yes there is a possibility that other countries capitulate. Buuuut most likely it’s just gonna become a tariff war. And your comment is basically just cooe
@@Usersunited watch the video again to comprehend the way tariffs work. Then come back and talk like an adult. They are used to protect jobs but they raise the prices of incoming Goods into a country. Example let's say we tariff China for go-carts They will respond in kind with a tariff on other goods we send like Food and equipment. While we made Go-carts from China more expensive let's say from 300- 599$ now in america the American producer will make their new price now 589$ from their original 350$ price because they can get away with it now. Watch the video again it's explained in great detail how they work. 😁
@@Usersunited tariff's almost never play out that way. As Atrioc said, Tariff's usually just trigger retaliatory tariffs. It's not much of a bargaining chip when the other side also can tariff your goods. Trump's first term tariffs were a 25-30% (approaching 50% for very select goods) tax. The impact to US prices was mostly offset due to relative strengthening of the dollar comparative to the Chinese Yuan. As a result, very slight increases in export prices were passed to the consumer, and both US and Chinese exporters lost some profitability due to time lost in finding new nations to export to, but not enough to cause real harm. Trumps new round of tariffs are a completely different beast, approaching 60% for most goods. It is unlikely we see the same kind of equilibrium as the earlier set of Tariffs because the Yuan would have to weaken to an unrealistic level in order to compensate for the rise in export price. It is extremely likely the cost passed along to the consumer will be higher than the first round of tariffs. The strength of these taxes matter when considering the consequences.
@@UsersunitedHello? Have you ever heard of delayed gratification? You can't gloat about something that is definitely gonna fuck you just because you can't understand the ramifications.
You also misses the point about intermediate goods. For construction companies who build housing, tariffs also add cost to the price of lumber necessary to make houses. This will increase the final cost of housing

Companies raising their prices to be just below tariffed goods seem like something that would become an issue real quick, why wouldn't they jump at the opportunity to make more money? One of their biggest competitors is kneecapped, if they sell something you need why not squeeze some more money out of you? Most companies prioritize profits so they'd just raise prices.
It's so funny because way back in 2016 American companies already complained about Chinese company deliberately keeping cost low and dump cheap exports such as steel to destroy US competitors. These smart US capitalist should try saving themselves sometimes lol . Like anytime there's a left or right wing policy people just assume that the people at the tippy top can just be uncontrollably greedy and nobody else can do anything except feeding their greed , it's hilarious
The visuals for the latter part of the Tariff section regarding McKinley are not structured very well. The first excerpt refers to the Dingley Tariff and McKinley's protectionist agenda as President following his victory in the 1896 election. The second excerpt, which is supposed to prove that these tariffs were not well-received, actually refers to the 1890 Tariff introduced by McKinley while he was still a Representative in the House.
I'd like to add one thing here. Big A talks about how tariffs are good at protecting a certain job/skill, which is true, but that is only a part of the picture. The larger picture is that they protect monopolization from 1 country, specifically a country we are unsure of staying friendly with. Areas like technology/chips are a great example. If China becomes the only place to get good quality chips for CPUs and GPUs, then they can turn off the flow of chips to the US or other places, the US government has to be cautious of using said chips that might have embedded malware/spyware, the general public could also be at risk of the chips, etc. Overall, it is less about "America has to be able to produce this" and more of "we need to ensure America can have safe and ample access to this", which could be by ensuring allies maintain that capability or by ensuring we maintain that ability. Another example is something like BYD and the electric car market. If China is willing to use government dollars to severly reduce car prices, then the impact is all other manufactures will not be able to compete and stop trying to make electric vehicles. This will lead to China being the only place to get said vehicles, which could cause an issue if they no longer want to sell the in the US or certain places. Remember, competition is the consumers friend, and tariffs should be there to ensure we can maintain competition, not monopolize American interests
For the last 5 years I have worked my ass off at work to keep up with and stay ahead of inflation, and I am only now starting to feel like I can buy the things I want and do the things I want to do. The though of inflation coming back because of these tariffs just makes me want to give up completely, like no matter how hard I try I will never make progress so what's the fucking point??? I think i'm done bro :(
11:00 But big A, "protect this guy's job" is important to the American people. The American populace DID vote for protecting their jobs. I think that was genuinely important to the platform's base appeal.
@PureMage000 Not if they don't have jobs. If the bottom 90% don't have steady work, they have no money regardless of price and all purchasing ceases. Employment and income are more important for purchasing decisions than goods prices on an individual level. Prices rising slowly through inflation or instantly to optimize domestic pricing for a new tariff is a relevant difference to whether the good will be purchased by the mid-tier earner in the short term, but the whole host of purchases made by the people who can now operate gainful businesses without global market interference hugely outweigh the minor change in demand for the one good. At least this way the Americans whose jobs are protected can continue to operate within and contribute to their society.
@@winterfrench8094 but like i said they won't operate because of the rise of costs and the post tariff economy will be weaker as the original middle class who were functioning in society can also no longer spend money as freely as before.
I use Atrioc to find the stories. I then go and look deeper into it after he js done. I wonder how many do that but are considered "getting their news from youtube". Am I getting my news from youtube?
Ngl I don’t care about economics/politics at all, but I’m so addicted to this series that I can’t watch anything else on UA-cam until I’ve watched every video
"willing" is a very very very funny word to use when you're talking about something we absolutely must have to live lmao. What option is there but to be "willing" to pay?
Oh you can’t afford your groceries due to inflation caused by excess tariffs on major imports? Drink Huel!! Priced at just around $2.50 a meal, this meal replacement shake is so affordable and easy. Just don’t ask where the protein comes from!
It's an assumption that the domestic market will rise to near the level of the tariffs - but really only accurate for monopolistic markets. Markets with domestic competition should still see price competition, there will be an increase in the end but in the tractor example it would be more like 150$ max. The far more likely outcome is a reduction in consumer choice as foreign competitors flee the market. Not necessarily great, but there are other benefits like tax revenue, jobs, price insulation etc.
Calling the german "Freie Demokratische Partei" (FDP) a business-friendly-leftwing party is wrong. They are what Americans would call libertarians and they didn't say "I'm out" they were kicked out by the chancellor after proposing a ridiculous program that infringed on previously agreed upon policy compromises. The FDPs leader is pretty much the sole reason why germany has been unable to take on debt for investments cause his understanding of a states economy is at best that of a 16 year-old.
when you skip the ad but atrioc just puts it again into the next part. someone pick this guy already up hes just too good to be wasting his time on twitch.
Tariffs don't cause prices to increase for everyone. Usually the opposite occurs, and the tariffs end up being dropped. Where did u learn about economics? Oh ya, ASU, nevermind, now I understand. That's the problem with places and people who believe in feelings instead of facts. And by the looks of ur last election, more people agree with me. There's so much cope online lately, but it's understandable, and a better outcome than the alternative. And tariffs raise prices for the short term, and then things quickly get removed and everything is tariff free and better for everyone.
China has been investing in factories all over Asia. They're pretty well positioned to get around a lot of tariffs. A few weeks after tariffs are put in place, a lot of things coming out of Shanghai will suddenly come out of Vietnam and Cambodia.
Btw there is a good reason for stalling the reelection. When a reelection happens the cycle is basically reset. Currently the election would happen in September, but if the reelection happens during in December, every following election will be in December until a new "emergency" reelection happens. Having elections close to Christmas and New Years is obviously a bad idea and thus stalling it to something like February or March is the better option in the long run.
As a Canadian, Trump just announced a 25% on all Canadian goods. That single handily tanked our dollar to a 20 year low. Why does Trump hate those of us from Maple town ?!?!?!?!?!?!
Tariff actually makes shit loads of sense in egalitarian countries. Basically you want to protect your business if everybody involved in production process can benefit from that. What you do is you basically bring business to your country. However it is not the case in the USA, unions are weak, there is no employee protection, so the effect is only US business owners benefit from tariffs and the rest just pay more for their products.

Yeah and they're gonna keep growing, good for them. Time to take our nations back from those that hate us.
As a fellow german: great comment.
Danke Bruder
Banning a party that 20% of the population supports is ridiculous. Leftist politicians simply are trying to control politics by banning anybody not left wing.
AFD in germany is growing for the same reasons Trump won in America: estiblishment trying to "reeducate" people instead of taking their issues seriously and help people.
as a german the fdp didnt leave the coalition olaf scholz literally kicked Christian Linder (head of FDP an minister of finances) out of his minester position, because he was fucking around to much publishing papers absolutly against his coalition partners. after this the coalition broke up lowkey a scholz powermove
on that note an other minister also from the fdp even left the party to stay in his minister position because he was disagreeing so much with Lindner
I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.
The strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off
I can only speak from my experience when I advise seeking professional advice. It looks like a smart bet if you don't know where to get an experienced one, but if you don't know anything about the market.
Mind if I ask you recommend this particular professional you use their service? i need all the guidance I can get.
I have a female advisor named Stacy Lynn Staples. I recommend researching her. To be very honest, I'm glad I decided to let someone handle expanding my finances even though I almost didn't think I should.
Thanks for sharing. I searched her full name and found her website instantly. After reviewing her credentials and conducting due diligence, I reached out to her.
I live in Brazil and each day that passes I see more BYD stores and vehicles around, it's crazy
Yo big A, you're literallay my biggest source of news and I cite you all the time.
Correction on the olaf scholz part.
FDP is more center right. They line up wherever the money is.
Olaf actually forced the FDP leader to quit. That then forced the snap election
16:30 gets a bit scuffed
Was wondering if it was just me
The graph you showed at 19:05 does not show the whole developement until today. Nowadays the energy prices are down again.
16:44 ad so nice they ran it twice
Your take on 10 year is missing a big talking point. The 10 year is rising because of credit risk. Anything beyond 3 years for treasuries is AA instead of AAA. Investors don’t think the US gov will be able to pay its debt obligations in 10 years. Crazy gov spending and high interest being paid. High is the relative term for the past 15 years
i was hoping atrioc was going to talk about the rare metal reserves that japan found recently! these reserves are so valuable they could potentially prop up japan's struggling economy for a bit longer
He spoke about it on stream. Essentially he just said the amount found was inconsequential and not enough to have any real Impact
I've been binging his hitman series, didn't realize he's actually well spoken on economics huh 0,o. Well spoke and good explanation of Tarrifs. A top search's after the election was what's a tarrif 🙄. Maybe search that before the election?
The tarriff explanation really has become the silent assassin of this econ arc
Or the elusive target of this Econ arc?
Man that went by fast. I had to check the time cause I thought it was short, but nope just highly enjoyable to the point time flew. You could probably make an hour long one and I'd feel the same way. Truly my favorite video of the week.
Fact
13:57 Atrioc put it in Simple Terms Tariffs protct jobs but raise inflation. And what are we most mad about Right now? INFLATION
and what he fails to realize every time he talks tariffs is that they can also be used as a bartering tool.
"yeah guys, im going to slap you with this tariff here... UNLESS OF COURSE..."
And finally,
Tell me about how badly the trumps first term the tariffs impacted you.
Glizzy
Firet
Haha yeah, hell yeah
You also misses the point about intermediate goods. For construction companies who build housing, tariffs also add cost to the price of lumber necessary to make houses. This will increase the final cost of housing
I’d like to add a personal note on Huel. The “instant meals” that come in the big black pouches are VERY mediocre. Not a lot of flavor, and they upset my sensitive stomach. The Huel Black powder, though, tastes pretty good and seems like a great option. It’s a bit grainy through just a shaker, so I recommend putting it through a blender or food processor as well. Thanks for coming to my TeD talk
Ain't no way they don't have enough paper. I have lived in Germany for 8 months. The amount of paper documents I have received in that period in connection to the rented flat is more than my family accumulated over 20 years of owning 2 flats and a house.
Those AR glasses would actually be amazing for any delivery service courier for delivering in large apartment complexes with confusing address because it's common for packages to be put at the wrong doorstep
Love how the ad break bleeds into the Ai segment
Hearing an election take thats not "X party thinks/says this because they're evil socialists/fascists" is honestly refreshing. Atrioc just talking about the economy which is what he knows most about and trying to inform people on his perspective of whats going on through that lens feels like a much more honest take than anyone who just repeats talking points about social issues, even if i agree with them.
So it wasn’t a “referendum on wokeness”?! 😱
I mean you would think that people would actually care about the morality of their vote, like it is kinda insane we elected a documented rapist and criminal just because there was less inflation before covid
ye chief we watched the video
God i am not ready for more inflation. Getting a house feels so far out of reach now.
8:23 that’s exactly like Peter Isherwell from Don’t look up
I am surprised people don’t know what tariffs are
Or didn’t know
Tariff video coming out right before Thanksgiving dinner arguments is a godsend
6:22 nasa - "am i a joke to you"
Nasa does use alot of space x rockets
Nasa is kind of a joke now ngl
I'm getting my MS Finance and the reason I'm able to hold a conversation about the Japanese economy is because if Atrioc. The reason I know about blackrock is because of Atrioc. The reason I knew that T-Bills were at a very high percentage was because of Atrioc. I get almost all of my news from UA-cam, but I also get a lot of insights from UA-cam. I think an important lesson I've learned "specifically from the glizzster" is to read shit. I'm getting the Play Nice book for Christmas and I'm actually digging into articles.
a huge leap for avant garde marketing, you're really pushing the artform here. Big stuff.
This video is done REALLY well big a. Thanks for the nuanced information and for teaching and breaking things down cleanly and clearly. Good big bro leason.
Nobody cares, just buy some anti depressants and PUMP MY PHARM STOCKS.🤑🤑🤑💰💰💸💸💸💸
It's so funny because way back in 2016 American companies already complained about Chinese company deliberately keeping cost low and dump cheap exports such as steel to destroy US competitors. These smart US capitalist should try saving themselves sometimes lol . Like anytime there's a left or right wing policy people just assume that the people at the tippy top can just be uncontrollably greedy and nobody else can do anything except feeding their greed , it's hilarious
This is literally the only video UA-cam needs to recommend in regards to the election and tariffs
3:06 this chart is positively insane
it's actually not an editing mistake, your brain has been hacked and all visuals have been replaced by huel
you are my only source of news big A.
love it
atrioc has a trump fade
17:00 now this is marketing
Rigth when he announced 25% on canada and mexico
25% on Canada of all countries is hilarious, we dogwalk them why are we doing this
One of, if not the most important sources of information for US economic news. Don't stop, Brandon, we need you
Ads so powerful they take over the regular scheduled MM.
I think i'm done bro :(
5:41 yoooo wth is the battleblock theatre gift shop music doing in here???
"were going to combat inflation by raising prices!" Do people not understand what inflation is?
Another banger marketing Monday.
The ad slip up only adds to the quality.
cannot believe atrioc is covering 远洋捕捞. This is an even new concept in China as well😮😮
15:44 the best part is the ball totally missed the hoop but you cut away first
Yeah the AI was really stuck at 16:45 min into the video 🤣
16:45 best product placement of the century.
11:00 But big A, "protect this guy's job" is important to the American people. The American populace DID vote for protecting their jobs. I think that was genuinely important to the platform's base appeal.
But the growth in the economy by the jobs will not affect the bottom 90% as the prices also rises.
The Amazon delivery optimizations sound like the ones in a warehouse. This is very common for pick and pack processes in distribution centers.
My favorite time Marketing Monday and a Penjermin on my break
Up right now, straight up learning it… and by it… well… let’s just say my economics…
I’m drunk af and the ai swapped part got me, I’m Huel for life now
I use Atrioc to find the stories.
Unfortunately grocery prices will never go back down because now they see we are willing to buy groceries at the current price
"willing" is a very very very funny word to use when you're talking about something we absolutely must have to live lmao. What option is there but to be "willing" to pay?
More like forced
Well, people kinda need to eat
Yeah, there is a shockingly high demand for the things that keep us alive.
Oh you can’t afford your groceries due to inflation caused by excess tariffs on major imports? Drink Huel!! Priced at just around $2.50 a meal, this meal replacement shake is so affordable and easy. Just don’t ask where the protein comes from!
It comes from humans, doesn't it?
@@GoodlyPenguin mainly Hemp and Beans.
@@GoodlyPenguinthey get it from Huel from the hit shows breaking bad, better call Saul and better fuel Huel
18:20 Christian Lindner did not retire voluntarily. He was KICKED OUT because they couldn't agree on a budget.
Watching wazzup Beijing in Beijing peak
As a Barbadian, the uptick in Chinese owned EVs on the road has been crazy over the last 3 years especially
when you skip the ad but atrioc just puts it again into the next part. someone pick this guy already up hes just too good to be wasting his time on twitch.
Huel better pay extra for that double ad
Hey, it visually cuts back to the huel ad a few seconds after it was supposed to end
When that MM hit I set my volume to 15% and immediately click
Btw there is a good reason for stalling the reelection. When a reelection happens the cycle is basically reset. Currently the election would happen in September, but if the reelection happens during in December, every following election will be in December until a new "emergency" reelection happens. Having elections close to Christmas and New Years is obviously a bad idea and thus stalling it to something like February or March is the better option in the long run.
slipping the ad footage over the GPT audio - that’s my 5Head marketer 🤝
As a Canadian, Trump just announced a 25% on all Canadian goods. That single handily tanked our dollar to a 20 year low. Why does Trump hate those of us from Maple town ?!?!?!?!?!?!
As a Mexican, I feel your pain.
The ad part was definitely on purpose loll the mistake would've been caught when Huel reviewed the vid b4 posting. I mean, it worked so well that now I even know what Huel is. good marketing!
14:55 I don‘t get why this has to be AI.
We had this in the warehouse of a company I worked at. You would just put your thing in the first empty spot you find, you scan the QR code of the thing and the spot you put it in. Then when you search for it, you enter the name and it gives you the aisle it is in and a LED would light up for the kext minute so you can find it easily.
Why not just do something like that?
Big A's depiction of AI is so real I can feel it change the video in the middle of me watching it xD
Incredible nuanced takes as always. I really love the work you put into this. Thank you!
16:43 editor be mad tripping

As it mimics the youtube "you watched so far" red bar.
Not sure if the comments mentioned this but there’s an editing mistake at 17:00

I'm always so impressed by these videos. I watch all of your content but Marketing Monday videos are always incredibly interesting and informative. There are times where I talk about things I learned from your videos to do a more informed job explaining economics to people.
What's the craziest part to me about people not understanding what tariffs are is that it's quite literally something taught in high school
Not every high school across USA has the same curriculum
14:12 Wrong Election, that time frame covers the William H. Harrison to Grover Cleveland time frame with the Mid-term of 1890, At the time McKinley was a Senator of Ohio. William McKinley was elected in 1896, which the previous image states in-directly by talking about how the Recession of 1893 had all but ran its course.
He was reading the Wkipedia articles for the The Tariff Act of 1890, which was nicknamed the McKinley Tariff because he crafted it as a House Representative.
We don't need clips channel recaps, we all watch those videos religiously
On a more serious note though, there is plenty of ongoing research on AI training on AI, and honestly the results are pretty good.
The inbreeding analogy was pretty funny tho 😂
