They are such amazing creatures. The opal make them all special. One of my dreams to get a piece. Love fossils. A dinosaur tooth. A bit of bone. Thank you for the video. Much appreciated. Greetings from Dimboola in Victoria.
So many belemnites! I scrounge the crap ones to get a nice one, you just have a pile of colour!!! Just a quick fyi- they are molluscs and related to squid but ammonites and nautilus are the closest relatives. I think the "shell" was internal and the hole was a floatation cavity. They change the story every 5 years or so anyway. Maybe next year they are alien space ships...
@@diverseopalproducts also... got any black epoxy? Want to try filling the organ/ air cavity with that? I was going to try it but don't have good enough specimens... except one which is so good, I'm NOT touching it anymore
Nah. The belemnite looks great! You can't help what nature gives you. Don't think your decision making was bad, other than that over enthusiastic first incision with the dremel! What ppl may not get is that you have one shot at the thing. Sometimes I have plenty of advice for past me once I know all about the stone! I think it came up great

Thanks for your feedback. Hope you achieve your goal of getting something opalized one day.
Beautiful. I really like the belemnites. Felt like i was in the dentist chair for a minute with the rotary drill noise. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for your comments and feedback. Yes, that noise can be a bit disconcerting. 🙂
Love the blue and I don’t mind included sand, kind of looks cool, lovely piece. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for your feedback. Was hoping for stronger colour but you don't know what you have until the skin comes off. 🙂
@@diverseopalproducts how's it going there stranger?

I like it. anything crystal is great.
Thanks for your feedback. I might need to tackle one of the other belemnites. I can see colour hiding under the surface on a couple of pieces.
@@diverseopalproducts might I suggest left side, 3rd one up, green and black...

@@drfill9210 I can understand your reasoning to put the black epoxy into the cavity but that may limit my range of buyers.
@@drfill9210 Yep, there are still a couple of nice ones there.

Thanks for your feedback. That's right, quite often you only get one shot and you need to be ready for the unexpected.
