    From what I can see in the camera, the far right looked good with all coats. Very cool experiment. Thanks for doing this 🥰🇨🇦

    I’m so relieved to hear you say that BIN is probably not a bright white because I always have thought it is the best on the market. Thanks for this tutorial it’s been so helpful ❤️

      It works, bit definitely not a pure white in comparison

    I'm happy to see that the 123 worked so well. I just primed a dinning room table with 6 chairs with it. They were a shiny brown and I painted them with a light color. Hopefully it will stay light without any bleed through. Thanks for the information!

    Have lived the "bleed through" nightmare while painting bookcases. At the end of the day they looked great. On coming back into the room the next morning, they were a mess - again !

    Brandy, you read my mind! I’ve been so curious about primers. I just tried the WO light grey primer and love it!

      I really like that it's gripping and stain blocking

    Thanks Brandy! Having been out of the retail paint industry for more than a few years (🤣) I’m thrilled to see the advancement of newer paint companies tackling the ol’ bleed thru paint nemesis. Thanks for sharing this informative update. 😊👍🏻🎨.
    Sincerely, JustJo

    Thank you Brandy for doing this, it really helped me to decide which stain blocking primer I should buy and can trust to do the job.

    OhMyGoshness!!! This is what I needed to know!!! I got a Walmart “new” brand that is a primer & paint color in one called “ColorShot” Like the coverage and the fact that it is primed in color I actually want to paint piece in-this case pale yellow ColorShot vintage lace. So freakin pretty!!! I did prime with white Kilz x1 coat. I told myself that gotta get diff primer cuz did bleed thru-it was 3 shelves divided into 7 cubbies with rolling kilz on and finally gave up on paint brushing every corner of all 7 cubbies!!! 5-6 hours and that was enough for the top 3 cubbies, sides, top!!! Got a can of kilz paint can & sprayed the corners and rolled drips out with the roller!!! Ya-Ha!! 1.5 hours!!!! Found a “hidden” ledge too!!! Had bleed thru still-mind you 1 coat!!! Walmart had finally got paint back in and the ColorShot was one of them!!! Try it Cathy!!! Did!! Spray painted mostly all and sanded in between coats!!! I’m in Love-took and hour for 1st coat in all 7 cubbies and hidden area!!!!

    Now? Got to sand down again-which I Love doing-and try the yellow on-chalk paint & see if I can do the/your soft blend on!!! Getting close!!!! This is my personal piece to learn from-repairs, sanding, priming, hardware cleaning etc. Gonna move inside to do the chalk paint tho!!! Took off backboard from top and repaired, primed, painted and did the huge transfer on-so that’s ready!!! Sorry☺️😁☺️

    Thank you for doing this. I’m shocked BIN was one of worst! This explains a lot about the piece I’m working on now. Would you prime a piece you’re painting white if you’re using a paint with primer in it like DixieBelle Silk?

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy 2 роки тому +2

      It usually depends on the piece, but if I'm worried about bleed, then I would still prime under silk

      @@BrushedbyBrandy Thank you, Brandy. I have learned so much from you. I just you are a good artist. I have no artistic vision but enjoy trying to copy other peoples’ work. I’m going to try my hand at blending soon.

    For wood that is sanded all the way back (a bleeder) and want to stay natural wood would you prefer clear shellac or clear wise owl?

    • @BrushedbyBrandy
      @BrushedbyBrandy 2 роки тому +2

      I generally choose the sprays, because brushing the shellac based formulas is messy

    I find the spray can of BIN doesn't work as well as the paint can. The smell of Zinsser isn't so great lol
