@LIRR175 If you look closely on the Queens side of the bridge, you will see a yellow NYCDOT van. There were two or three people in there. One of them is the person in the bridge tower, the other was the one that was standing next to me, and I think there might have been another guy on the Queens side doing the same thing. This bridge is not manned 24 hours, as it is not a busy enough to warrant that much manpower.

Are these bridge openings planned in advance so they can have the appropriate crews there, or is the bridge staffed around the clock like some?
