Since i met Mirrors Edge, the way i look to the world has changed.
The plataform of the game, the colors, the intense peaceful songs and suddenly the incredible strong fight songs who make you want to jump from the tallest building, it's like, i dont no how explain what this game makes me feel, I met the game in the end of 2015 when my boyfriend sended me the cover of Mirror's Edge Catalyst saying that Faith looked so much like me and i was so confuse and surprise because yeah, in the cover we both look alike, and then i showed to my mom, and dad and to some friends and they confirmed the fact, and i confess, i loved
From long time Mirror's Edge is the best thing i ever meet, changed my life, and opened my mind to another place that just doesn't exist in real life, she always will be my favorite character. I wish i could live in the City of Glass, i keep playing all the songs i downloaded from your channel every single day.
I finished the game twice and i still want play more and more

I love how there are so many people here also experienced Mirror’s Edge as a life changing piece. My mental landscape and perception of the world hasn’t been the same since I played the first game back in 2008. It just captures a unique vision that I’ve spent a lifetime conceptualizing and it’s still an ongoing process after all these years of growing up.
We all live this with you :') and it just captures a moment in time that we all find so beautiful. A time where we could lose ourselves in a gaming world that allowed us to feel free

This song always brings tears in my eyes, it has such an innocent vibe to it, something pure even. Mirror's Edge made me want to be better at Parkour and I will never forget it.

Though it seems most people don't like this game, it's considered one of the most special, unforgettable experience I've ever had, and the city of glass is pretty much like the place I've always imagined to be...I hope the game can have some story DLCs...but it doesn't seem there's gonna be any :(
I mean I seriously don't understand why the game gets such negative reviews...I think the graphics are great, gorgeous, unique and spectacular, the gameplay is smooth and satisfying. The story might not be so good, but it's fine by me, and the optimization is pretty good...it is such an amazing and beautiful game, I'd really love to see a sequel or at least an expansion DLC

It got bad reviews because it spat in the face of what Mirrors Edge was by adding an Open World. You can't create quality encounters and fluid movement sequences effectively if the open world is your palate. It's a shame, because the game probably plays better than its predecessor, and the few linear areas designed for just missions flow great. It's a classic case of putting quantity over quality.
@@freatythedreary5491 Tbh, while the actual plot of the game is pretty mediocre, the narrative is compelling. We are presented with a glass city that looks beautiful and almost perfect but, upon further inspection, we slowly realise that things are too good to be true, that the place is actually corrupt and the roof tops are actually just a complex for the wealthy so that they can basically live out their fantasy whilst the rest suffer in the streets bellow (pretty much like real life). This concept then gives birth to the runner's incentive; they are basically like outlaws, not necessarily working to overthrow the law but living outside of it. Catalyst, compared to the first game, also touches upon the fact that there is little to no vegetation around the city which gives more reason for us to believe that this is a realistic representation of the future even if the game is set in it's own universe. People have stated that the city feels kind of empty and bland and I think that's the point - it looks perfect and beautiful but something is just off. This is what it looks like when a civilisation becomes so far removed from nature.

I am getting goosebumps literally everytime I listen to this. It really reminds me of 2015 when I was so hyped for Catalyst and playing the trailers for it on repeat everyday. I don't understand why this game is so underrated, it's amazing.

the music and the scene when faith "fly" between those buildings, everything comes together to become a wonderful futuristic symphony.

I listen to this song almost daily. I used to leave my PS4 on for hours with this theme playing.
This is just beyond something else, it's just so deep, imagine you are in a huge city at night looking at the beautiful night and cold air.. And staring at the stars at midnight, really makes you think huh? 😵🌌🌃
Mirror's Edge is sooo underrated, I just love the big difference to other games like the bright colors and the ultra smooth gameplay and the soundtrack by solar fields is just stunning, just as this theme. Mirror’s really changed my life after I played Mirror’s edge I wanted to know how to freerun/parkour I know how to land roll safely and ik how to wall run just for like 1 step this is my fav song if a city looks like this IRL I will go there no matter what idc if it takes 3 days or a week I would go there
Ugh. Oh my god. Listening to this makes me cry. It’s so amazing and beautiful, words don’t do it justice. I wish I could live in this world; I see it in my dreams sometimes and I can’t help but mourn when I wake up from such a heart stopping place.

The city looks wonderful from the rooftops but I always imagine that when down in the streets bellow, it is super polluted, littered, packed with pedestrians and traffic (etc). Everything in the game is meant to look perfect but the whole idea of the game is that things aren't all that they seem and the rooftops is a place for the rich while the rest suffer in the streets bellow. The city is a corrupt place where the people are basically owned by the rich and while the poor are doing all the dirty work and keeping the city running, the rich get to thrive in their own fantasy up in the city sky line. If you notice, everything is connected by pathways and is lit up - basically a whole complex for the wealthy. I feel like the game is a representation of real life and reminds you that the world isn't always what it seems. No matter how perfect something appears, it can't be trusted without seeing the bigger picture.
2023 still playing. This game is so good.
I hope that EA and DICE launch a Mirror's Edge 3, in the same world as the second game but with more open world, more life and more things to do, and that the music from Solar Fields returns, I hope they don't forget about Mirror's Edge. .... at least dreaming is free

I remembered, whem i had my ps4 this theme was the theme used all the time until i got a ps5, but i remembered i would catch myself just siting in silence listening to this muisc late at night.
This song is so beautiful and of what is going on in the world it feels like nothing is wrong in the world when listening peaceful is the main the that keeps us going.
There is some good atmosphere in this game... If I ever had a chance to enter a virtual world, I'd choose mirror's edge. I have Faith in this game.

I learned basic parkour and now whereever I look it's just a rooftop and I'm daydreaming about how awesome it would be to run around a little...
I recently found this cannel and love going though the comments. All of them are loving this game, loving these tunes, loving the graphics, gameplay, art style... everything. So like minded, i feel like i belong somewhere.

Only played a little bit of the first one a long time ago and been wanting to get back into it, but also this game too. I just discovered this theme on PS4 and I have no regrets starting up the menu. Thank for the longer version of this and love the way your video goes along with the music!

Being that I loved Parkour as a hobby when the first mirrors edge came out I fell in love with this game and its world. So much so that I have the runner symbol tattooed on me, forever signifying freedom and my love for parkour
The transition at 0:55 always gives me goosebumps, no matter how many times I watch it!

@@mirrorsedgefan I mean for whole youtube video. I could in theory, recreate the whole video using assets you gave me but that very time consuming process.
@@Grunt0Attack Ooh, yeah, the reason we didn't do that is because we are using some zooming effects, if the video was rendered at 4K those would look quite blurry, as it would then zoom in beyond the native 4K resolution.
So that's why we use higher quality assets than the target resolution for the video, to maintain perfect image quality at all times.
To be honest, not all of the assets were even 4K to begin with, we had to upscale some of them with neural network upscalers like Waifu2x to make up for that, it worked out pretty well even though it's essentially fake, but at 4K that would really start to show.
Not much can be done about it either, we made really sure to find the original source for each image, so they aren't available in higher quality anywhere unfortunately.
I guess what you could do though is remake the video without the zooming effects, using that 4K asset pack, that's the best compromise.

This theme is easily one of my favorites, it's the apex of a feeling i can only describe as loneliness in a mass of humans. I've had this track, aswell as a few others you uploaded in my running playlist for ages until i eventually got Spotify. I used to listen to it when i was out running, often in the evening or at night and it is just so calming to hear this. It brings me right back down to a clarity of mind and relaxation that actually allows me to focus on things again.
Maybe it's just the association i have with this game series and its music but man... i just love it.
To me this modern glass city, kinda fits with the vector game as well. Imagine a mirror's edge x vector sequel or sth like that, wouldn't that be interesting ?

I love the heartfelt comments at the same time I need to remind all of you that you live on planet Earth where there are so many possibilities and planet Earth is part of that universe that is full of many possibilities and it's up to you individually to make your dreams come true if you want to do parkour in a city like this nothing is stopping you from getting together gather some people and create a City dedicated strictly to parkour
It's common for people to fall in love with a game and love the adventures and then think that it can't happen in real life on the contrary it can, the only thing that's dangerous is the extinction of us because we choose to be lazy and stay stuck with our face pressed against glass or a screen versus using your intellect to create such beauty in real life.
So if you like this video game and others than there are plenty of creative ways on the planet you live to make them reality. Get together. Work together.
