Man, one of the reasons I respect the Prof. so much is how charismatic, generous, and positihe he stays. Even in the middle of a game, someone says hi or regognizes him he'll say hey and tell them he appreciates them, mid-game. He never gets mad over a game, he's always there to have a good time, doesn't take trash talk personally etc. Truly, rudeness is the weak person's imitation of strength, but the Professor's got that genuine fortitude deep down and he keeps it cool and stays grateful and posi and I just respect it so highly. It's not an easy way to be these days. It's easy to be angry and mean but the people I respect the most never let people or the world grind the positivity and gratitude out of them. To his credit he knocked down some of those undefended shots, but when professor decided to guard his jumper he easily swatted him. People just don’t understand how athletic he really is till he’s zipping them up. I’ve seen it in person, crazy quick twitch ability and extremely good timing defending shots even against much bigger players. There have been some idiots over the years who challenged the Professor but it's official, we found the king of the idiots. Yeah I’d be curious to know what the Professor’s conditioning routine is bc people don’t realize just doing stationary ball handling drills to be able to develop a tight handle is very tiring. It takes more cardio than ppl think. Then to be able to do all those moves takes energy. It’s draining on the body, so Professor has to hope that the defender is going to tire from being in that low stance and position for prolonged periods of time. Even if you are bigger stronger faster and can shoot, you’re not going to have a better handle than him and you won’t have better stamina. After watching a few of these things....some observations; 1. He (professor) has been here a THOUSAND times. Used to pressure, used to a crowd....all of it. 2. You must ABSOLUTELY be in fantastic shape to have a chance. 3. You know he's going to control the ball and go to the rack well. If he shoots well (he doesn't always) forget it. Having said that, you CANNOT get caught up in his undulations and showmanship. SO many times guys get beat, reaching for the ball or getting too close. Your chances of a steal are almost ZERO. Your chances improve if you force him to shoot well-contested jumpers and hope it's an off day. Back up.... wait until he makes a serious move to the basket....play D and hope for the best. 4. Once you get the ball, you MUST be disciplined enough to just keep backing him down. He might steal a couple, but shooting 3's for most guys (especially with the one shot thing) AND getting tired, is a losing proposition. Also, it's the only way to tire HIM. Lean on him. A rangy, physical, strong, quick defender who is in amazing shape, is the only person I can see beating him. And only then, if they are disciplined enough to turn it into a siege in the key....

I'm not tryna glaze but one thing I like about the professor is how he shows clips of him getting beat too so we know its legit. Most hoopers just post clips of their success and call themselves the king of the court or whatever bs but the professor is just on another level.

The reason the professor is so good is not just that he’s skilled but he also has the endurance to keep playing at that level a whole game. Anyone could play all out for a few minutes but not for 20 or 30.

Yeah I’d be curious to know what the Professor’s conditioning routine is bc people don’t realize just doing stationary ball handling drills to be able to develop a tight handle is very tiring. It takes more cardio than ppl think. Then to be able to do all those moves takes energy. It’s draining on the body, so Professor has to hope that the defender is going to tire from being in that low stance and position for prolonged periods of time. Even if you are bigger stronger faster and can shoot, you’re not going to have a better handle than him and you won’t have better stamina. Idk why people think they can beat a professional basketball player with tens of thousands of hours of expertise at their own game. It’s really astonishing how delusional people are

After watching a few of these things....some observations;
1. He (professor) has been here a THOUSAND times. Used to pressure, used to a crowd....all of it.
2. You must ABSOLUTELY be in fantastic shape to have a chance.
3. You know he's going to control the ball and go to the rack well. If he shoots well (he doesn't always) forget it. Having said that, you CANNOT get caught up in his undulations and showmanship. SO many times guys get beat, reaching for the ball or getting too close. Your chances of a steal are almost ZERO. Your chances improve if you force him to shoot well-contested jumpers and hope it's an off day.
Back up.... wait until he makes a serious move to the basket....play D and hope for the best.
4. Once you get the ball, you MUST be disciplined enough to just keep backing him down. He might steal a couple, but shooting 3's for most guys (especially with the one shot thing) AND getting tired, is a losing proposition. Also, it's the only way to tire HIM. Lean on him.
A rangy, physical, strong, quick defender who is in amazing shape, is the only person I can see beating him.
And only then, if they are disciplined enough to turn it into a siege in the key....

When they play him 1 on 1, they fall into the same traps; Trying to steal the ball, getting too close, shooting 3's etc. If they were to not worry about how it looks and just grind it out and get to the rim every play, they might win....
