Great video!! Some price breakdowns would be great too!! More consignment hauls of all kinds, mature, kids, men’s, whatever!!
Thank you! I’ll definitely be bringing more hauls in the future for sure in this category :)
Thanks Bethany …I can’t find the video you are talking about - selling to consignment
This was so so helpful! Ive been selling onljne since 2006 but my sales are really struggling. I do style pickups but have only done bst a few times and they barely bought anything from me so these videos are great..would love to see even more specifics .i started selling vtg on etsy 2006 so tbat is my original.first love
I’m glad you found it useful for you! I’ll definitely make more of these in the future :)
Yes please!! All the info is so helpful. Would love price examples of what you would charge for certain pieces and what the process is for payment.. Do they pay you first or look through the items when they get them and then pay? Venmo?Super curious about the shipping too-need to go and re-watch that video Sean linked.
Hi!! I’m glad you find it helpful :) we have different processes, pricing and payment methods for different clients. We break our exact processes down in REU but also talk about this in a video we have here on YT called “wholesale 101”!
I am interested in the logistics of this sales model. Is there a set amount of items or do you just call them when you have a load or ? How do you come to an agreement about frequency or price per item or the acceptability of the items that you send? Did they pay you before you send or do they have accounts with you? By the way that you are, I imagine that you have a certain informality in your approach but keep a business like at the same time. How do you balance that?
These are all great questions - and have taken TONS of trial and error. We have hours of content in REU with specifics on these questions and more, but the general gist of it all is like you mentioned, building a relationship with the client. Having open discussions about what kinds of pieces they want and need for their business, how many of those pieces, what they’re selling those pieces for (so you as the wholesaler can get a good idea of what a good price range could look like based on your COGs and desired profit that’s also sustainable for the client), how many pieces you personally need to move to hit your profit goals, etc.
It’s definitely important to have communication here - it’s vital to the long term partnership for sure.
Did you start by basically looking up names of thrift stores and then contacting them? I’ve seen the big bundles you’ve prepared to ship …but wondering, how in the world you’re pricing these big bundles? By the pound? By the number of pieces? By the cost of your goods…and a set finders fee? This is all new to me….and I’m definitely wanting to jump on this bandwagon! I have no shortage of possible inventory. I have THREE Goodwill Bins/Outlets each within 25 minutes from my house! I really your videos, Bethany! And still have sooooo much to learn!
Hi! Haha I did start by just reaching out to stores - at the time i was reaching out from my personal account and had no social media at all too.
If you’re interested in learning our entire wholesale process from A-Z, we actually have an entire section of Resellers Edge University dedicated to the wholesale process in depth! We have many members who wholesale for extra income and many others who are part time/full time in wholesale. There’s a ton that goes into it and we have a video on UA-cam that kinda scratches the surface, but if you’d really like to start or grow your wholesaling business (and of course grow in reselling across the board) I’d highly recommend checking it out! It sounds like with your sourcing opportunities you could have a huge home field advantage for wholesaling :)
Very informative. definitely keep doing these consignment videos
How to avail your bundles? Would you sell it to other person or just the people around Resselleredge?
Hi there! We sell to anyone who meets our minimum buy amount and we can reliably source for - We aren’t currently taking on any new clients though and likely won’t for some time.
Thank you for the helpful video! Question for you , what is the highest price you would pay for an item to resell to consignment? I have been on Poshmark for 6 years now and want to expand my business further. I’m coming from Cayleys channel ! ❤️❤️
Hi there! Thanks for your comment :) it would depend on #1, my personal profit goal per piece, and #2, the sales price I’d be selling the piece at - very similar to regular reselling!
Are you only able to sell in this way because you have access to a goodwill bins? I’d love to do this but there’s not a bins in my entire state haha.
Hi there! While we source at the bins, we know plenty of other sellers who are able to do this based on low COGs - that can be bins, local outlet stores, half off days, church sales, fill a bag sales, etc.!
would I be able to purchase wholesale from you personally? for my buisness?
Hi! We aren’t currently taking on any new clients right now. We appreciate you asking though!
I’d love to see plus sizes that you source for
I’ll do my best to bring more next time! I also source plus size for these stores for sure, it just depends on the week what I get haha
Would you mind sharing your eBay/Poshmark store? Would love to check it out!
Hi there, thanks for watching and commenting :) We don’t share our stores publicly
