    In my opinion they really need to be retooling everything with ball joints like Jada street fighter figures. They would make their money back on the first wave.

      true, that's the best method and not break the deseign paint.

    • @lazylefthand
      @lazylefthand 3 місяці тому +2

      @@andreyandy9483 not to mention they won't have to retool so many parts every quarter. All they would have to do is repaints after the initial tooling cost.

      Ball joints at the hip are way better than waist cuts or ab crunch, I totally agree!! 🙌

      It is almost definitely a matter of manufacturing, easier to stick to what they're already doing and adapt it rather than scrap it for something better. At the end of the day if people will buy it they don't actually care about providing quality (because unlike Jada hasbro is public and caters to shareholders above all else, who want as many corners cut as possible) Also they'd just leave a bunch of needless sculpt that restricts the articulation like they do on every single release, so be careful what you wish for

    • @lazylefthand
      @lazylefthand 3 місяці тому

      @owene2530 true. They figured out how to render a ball jointed neck absolutely useless. I'd be curious to see how they would fuck up a double ball jointed torso. It probably wouldn't crunch forward like mcfarlane figs.

    Hasbro continues to increase prices for antiquated body molds. There is no excuse for waist cut as this point in time.

    Thanks for the review. The hunt for the perfect animated Spidey figure continues. I would love to see that bigger animated head go the retro Spider-Man figure as a quick kit bash.

      True and I totally agree! But if you’re doing toy photography what are the chances you’re going to be posing this Spider-Man in vanilla stance to where you see figure straight ahead with the shoulders to the side?

    it's just crazy how Hasbro is literally the biggest action figure company in the world and they are still using the worst waist articulation like common man keep it consistent at least sheesh. like the superiors spider man that came out had the exact same problem where they fixed the strange slouching shoulders proportion's but then they gave him the same waist articulation they made 10+ years ago.

    I think I wouldn't have minded the old body mould if they added some cel shading like the retro carded one but a different body to set it apart...sorta like they did with the Symbiote vs carnage 2-pack ...but it is what it is... still a good 2-pack mostly cause of vulture but still good

  • @HeyZeusMtz

    You are completely right, sir! The pack should be discounted because it contains old body molds!
    The reverse ab crunch/torso swivel should be standard for acrobatic character characters! I'm still hurt that there aren't any Captain America figures made with that type of articulation still!🤦🏾‍♂️

    The issue i have is this line is exclusively for adults. Yeah a kid might see it and want it on occasion but VHS box? On a show thats 30 years old? This is an adult item. The kids i work with (im a karate instructor) dont even know what a vhs tape is. So i would expect the best quality for this price point and who its catered to. And the shoulder gaps and outdated body mold are just lazy and greedy. Its still a good spiderman, but for this price point it could have easily been better

    While I do agree with you about the waist swivel, I disagree that every Spidey should be on the RYV body. I feel like it's always good to have options, especially since people tend to lean more towards the AF mold than RYV

    I like the flash head sculpt because I use it as a Ben Reilly for my retro scarlet spider and I also like to use it as a ITSV Peter Parker from miles universe.

    Thanks for the incredible review. I wish they used the Vulcan body instead. 90s Spider-Man was buff. Hasbro isn't good with Marvel Legends' porportions (heads are big, and bodies look wonky).

    Already got them? So I guess I am the only one that I am tired to see the same skinny body over and over again for spider-men figures. I wish so bad to see a classic spiderman on the new vulcan body! For example the new vulture share the torso and arms from vulcan body.

    I’m an old-fashioned guy so I always prefer the average a Abe crunch and waste cut. And I will say we already have plenty of spider-men using the RYW or Retro carded body to where I’m ok with this body mold being used as a one off!

    • @RealPacPhotos
      @RealPacPhotos  3 місяці тому +2

      Yeah it’s a personal preference but we’re talking about consistency with a specific Spider-Man from a specific series. It’s like having 3 different wolverine body molds for the X-Men 97 - doesn’t make sense. That’s why there’s an emphasis on using the RYV body mold

    • @JBTMR
      @JBTMR 3 місяці тому

      @@RealPacPhotos that’s true, but I feel like RYW is a bit too bulky so I would go with the retro body!

  • @WeeaboohJones
    @WeeaboohJones 3 місяці тому

    Yea that Spider-Man is absolute trash. Low shoulders, horrible old buck, terribly sculpted headsculpt, outdated articulation. Honestly even the RYV buck is a mid buck too. That inverted ab crunch is also very outdated articulation. Nobody has used it since fucking DC Icons which has been canceled for years now. Every other respectable action figure line is using a ball peg waist and they’ve been doing it for YEARS. The legends design team is the worst design team on the market and it’s not even close. Even Todd McFarlanes worst engineered figures use more contemporary articulation than anything marvel legends uses. It’s embarrassing and for some reason the legends community keeps buying this trash. They’re never going to give us a definitive Spider-Man because they know the community will keep buying these mid Spider-Man two pack. They’re enabled to rip us off by the very community they rip off.

  • @ivanfrias2605
