Use meths to preheat it ,the blow lamp gets though mantles at a colossal rate ,and also will greatly reduce the amount of time you can use the lamp for as it uses a large amount of fuel
This lantern would make a great little cooker. Just add a wire computer guard to the top, then you are good to go. :)
60 seconds for that pre-heater is enough, unless you are camping / using the lantern in very cold conditions then about 90 seconds would do it nicely.
