I know the developers were trying to follow up the immense success that UF had as they went into the prequel trilogy, and I wonder if that energy could have translated to the production of this theme as well. There are many parts here that are quite similar to the UF theme. Or perhaps they were just written/recorded around the same time period. Regardless, composer Nishiura is the MVP and I desperately hope we see the same musicians returning for New World of Steam.
