The first time I heard this song was a few years ago on headphones and my entire body went into goosebumps during the chorus and background singing. I love the build up of the drums the entire time sounding like marching, all the lyrics are beautiful, how ethereal the guitars sound. There are times I have listened to it literally fifty times in a row. I hadn't heard it in over a year this time and man... shivers.
I've been a fan since '97. I Want You inspired me to try the bass guitar. Deep Inside of You I can no longer listen to because of the pain I was going thru then, Bonfire reminds me of when I decided to take six years off from dating to heal myself and this song taught me that I'm still alive. This band has never left my heart and they never will!

Libra to Libra, I've been listening to teb since I was like 9 years old and never stopped. It's the only CD in my vehicle ever, no matter what! It was literally the only thing I wanted out of my old car when I sold it. TEB has been there since the beginning and never disappointed. Every song is such a part of every period of my life. It's like the perfect lyrical autobiography of every big thing and all the little things.
But I have to know, what are they saying in the background??? Haha, < in the background > but yeah it sounds like "help me forget"? which as usual would be exactly synchronous to my life atm.

@@aprilpavis-shroeder6841 Maybe so but I am talking about rock and roll or alt-rock genres as they were in the mid-80's to mid 2000's - as 3EB started. I am a musician and guitar player and I still love 3EB but this is not that kind or rock that made them stand out and successful. It has a completely different feel and vibe. You can like whatever you like. No worries but this is not rock and roll. This has become something else that has some other style. I don't know what to call it but I do not like it near as much and I think most 3EB fans for the last 20 years would agree that this is something different. Where are the rocking guitars with some distortion? Listen to their first 3-4 albums.

@@joaobrasil3689 rock n roll is dead... This is progressive and it's progressive in regards to the entire catalog like the above comment points out. The collective is def Rock n Roll but it's not for everybody...just like this isn't for everybody. This is more Xeb than what I take for current 3eb personally. I loved the Dopamine album but some of the stuff since hasnt struck with me the way the others did. I understand cop vs phone girl but I also thought it was too easy for 3eb...low hanging fruit. This however...I love the blue lighting because this reminds me of Blue. Either way I'm also glad they continue to make music and they've been in my top 5 since the self titled in '97 so I fully understand the long term love affair. And like this, the songs that mean the most to me aren't meant for the radio.

I did like a few dopamine songs too but the last couple years especially I can't even listen to it. I'll always be fan and I respect Stephen Jenkins a ton. I've met him a few times in the neighborhood we live in here in SF and he has been quite funny. Anyway, in my dreams I would have him back collaborating with Kevin - just to see if they could get back to that style. Cheers

It is like having that special brother or friend suddenly walk through the door and back into your life. I honestly thought I would never hear new 3EB music. Maybe this will even mean that the chances I missed to see them live can be made up for finally.
I discovered 3EB through the movie Can't Hardly Wait, and the track waa one of their more radio/media friendly, but that pop track was the gateway for me to discover everything else they had to offer, and 3EB became one of the most consistent soundtracks for my life (if not the number one). Box of bones. I'm an artist, and it resonates so personally with me. Every single relationship I've been in minus the current one has been someone manipulating me into thinking I can't do better so that they can own me. They gaslight me until I believe them. They isolate me. They stop me from creating art so I don't get any praise. This song represents all of the feelings they've created that I've endured. The growth I've made to recognize and call them out for it. The absolute severe abuse and neglect I've faced my entire life. The need for my mothers approval she never gave. The absolute vulnerability I had after my dad committed suicide and i found him, and how it was abused and taken advantage of former lovers.

You guys were in thunder bay recently. You went to the Waterhouse. Everyone in town told me you were there, because they knew how you shaped my life. A man who had been an abuser for 8 years, I gave him another chance. I felt like he was my soul mate. I felt like it was meant to be. He wouldn't let me come there to you guys. I always thought he was the "find you warm in the rain right next to me"..
I didn't know myself. Everything lost its tie to meaning. I felt so strong knowingly standing up myself, I felt so secretly weak losing the one solid thing I had growing up, no matter how abusive it was. I felt so brittle taking my stand against his STILL abusive behaviors.

Is it “servant stairs” or “servant stares”?
SJ “it’s whatever you want it to mean.” 😆

I read it as "servant stairs" the first time, then "servant stares" when he sings it the second time. So much meaning, however you read/hear it.

The crescendo at the end symbolizes the birth/crashing of life before we become a box of bones.

@@consultorapimpinha3979 That was just my opinion, but I now get why the song seems to just cut off, you hear SJ whisper/mumble Box of Bones like the sound of life wavering away.

Man I just found this song. I have a story from last Thursday that this song came on radio by chance ?
I was headed to sheriffs department with a box of old bones pelvis or hip what Beleive to be a possible Native American remains or missing person I found exploring and fishing a creek locally. I find a lot of extinct mega fauna such as bison and extinct horse teeth and bones and had a paleontologist look at em and sure enough had a human hip.
No way this is by chance this song came on headed to sheriff. Hope native remains or whoever had this song played on my radio rests in peace.
    God bless.
